09/08/2025: A truly sublime and magical experience for our palates! Last Sunday, after a long journey from Rome, my partner and I were craving fresh seafood. We decided to try this restaurant, and honestly, we couldn't have chosen better! We ordered raw fish, and the freshness was immediately evident in the dishes: hairy mussels, classic mussels, oysters, Gallipoli red prawns, donkey hoofs (sea almonds), sweet scampi, cockles, and sea truffles. We also ordered a very fresh salmon tartare and a warm peppered mussel tartare. We wanted to order more, but we were practically full, so we moved on to the legendary dessert: pistachio cheesecake and two coffees. Both the waiter and the manager were very courteous and knowledgeable, and even advised us to finish everything we'd ordered before ordering anything else, telling us that we'd surely be full from the fresh seafood alone (thus going against their own financial interests). And they were right! We'll definitely be back one last time on Saturday evening to try other dishes! Thank you so much!

07/08/2025: We ate here three years ago, and today we're returning for the second time, after returning on vacation to Puglia. Super fresh seafood and fish, fast service, knowledgeable and extremely friendly staff; a must-visit every time we're in the area!

04/08/2025: We've been frequenting the Villa Excelsa Restaurant for years, and it has always been a go-to place for important family occasions. This time, too, to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of two of our close friends, this place made us feel a little like home. As always, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Mino, the owner, a delightful person who manages to combine professionalism and passion, making every guest feel truly special. His attentive and discreet presence helped make the evening even more enjoyable. The setting is elegant, a renovated ancient villa, very well-kept and welcoming, perfect for unforgettable moments. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly and always available. The strictly fish-based menu fully met our expectations: tasty dishes, beautifully presented and prepared with quality ingredients. A huge thank you to all the staff. That's why we'll continue to choose it and why we recommend it to anyone looking for a place where they can truly feel good, eat with taste and quality, and toast with excellent wines!! Thank you

26/07/2025: Disappointing experience, speaking only for the pizzeria—I'll never return. Villa Excelsa, despite its reputation, offered an absolutely negative experience when it came to the pizza service. We were a group of 12, and everyone—without exception—had something to say about the quality of the pizzas: sloppy preparation, toppings thrown in almost haphazardly, mediocre dough. It almost seemed as if the pizza chef was rushing, lacking care or attention. I myself ordered a Paesana with tuna and onion: it arrived significantly later than the rest of the table, when everyone else had already finished. The onion was roughly placed and completely raw, making it inedible. When asked for an explanation, I was told that the oven only holds eight pizzas. This is an unacceptable excuse for a place of this size: in many other pizzerias, priority is rightly given to bringing out the dishes at the same time for the entire table. This is a clear organizational error by the restaurant manager, who should ensure consistent and respectful service. I hope this poor service is limited to the pizzeria, but personally, I won't risk returning. Terrible service, disorganized management, and zero customer service. It's a shame, but it's an experience you'll definitely forget.

15/08/2025: We ordered some Bari focaccia for the seafood. It was presented already cut into 4 pieces, and it wasn't possible to cut it into more pieces. It was too oily and very thin for a focaccia.

30/07/2025: My daughter and I were passing through, and even though we hadn't booked, they were kind enough to find us a table. The pizza was very good, and the staff was very friendly.

02/08/2025: I had dinner with my two-year-old daughter at this restaurant, which initially seemed very welcoming. Unfortunately, however, our experience was marred by an unpleasant incident that left a bad memory. While we were dining outside, my daughter, who recently out of diapers, had an accident and peed on the floor. As any parent knows, these things can happen, and I always try to handle them as best I can. However, the gentleman at the cash register was completely inappropriate. Not only did he make me feel like I'd caused a huge inconvenience, he also said, in a truly inappropriate way, that I should put my daughter back in diapers, a comment that deeply humiliated me. I would have expected more understanding and sensitivity, considering we're talking about a two-year-old girl and a situation that was absolutely unwanted. Unfortunately, this attitude ruined the atmosphere and made me feel uncomfortable for the entire evening. I hope the restaurant will take into account the sensitivity and empathy required when dealing with families with small children, so that similar situations can be handled with greater respect and discretion.

Good selection of wines also available.Nice background music makes Cardinal a can’t miss option. Very reasonable prices as well. Highly recommended.

01/06/2025: La prima volta che sono stato in questo locale inizialmente ho avuto una buona impressione, il locale è carino e ben tenuto, anche nella pizza vengono usati ingredienti di buona qualità, la pizza senza glutine però purtroppo presentava i bordi crudi al centro...cosa che ho anche segnalato. La volta successiva (era fine settembre) avevamo prenotato un tavolo per 2 e solo una volta arrivati ci dicono che erano disponibili solo tavoli esterni e siccome stava iniziando a piovere siamo dovuti andare via....Poi ci sono tornato per delle pizze da asporto e anche in questo caso c'è stata poca chiarezza...nel senso che controllando a casa il costo pagato con i prezzi del menù on line, abbiamo constatato che ci è stato fatto pagare di più e il difetto della senza glutine è fra l'altro rimasto...

31/05/2025: We were a group of more than 10 people, they put us at a table against the wall and in the very narrow passage to the bathroom and the kitchen with all the obvious inconvenience. They don't even have a mobile platform to let wheelchairs in, the bathroom has no key and is not suitable for a disabled person in a wheelchair. The pizza was good at first, hot, but after a while it became a sole, very poor ingredients, the freshly cut truffle that tasted absolutely nothing.... a unique disappointment, exaggerated prices for the service and the food. Never again
