20/06/2025: The only real pub in the historic center of Saluzzo! The clientele varies from the youngest to the residents! Good food especially the sandwiches to try at least once! Excellent draft beers! Friendly and very engaging service! Ambience 9! I think I will go back.... too bad it's far from my house otherwise I would always be there!

19/07/2025: Looking for a place for a modest dinner on a warm July evening, we found this restaurant on the maps, with positive reviews and images of inviting dishes, but Google shows it closing at 8:00 PM. Seeming strange, we went to check it out for ourselves: from the outside, it was deserted. We decided to go in anyway, and a gentleman greeted us, regretfully offering us the set menu due to the lack of staff. The menu included appetizers through dessert, excluding drinks, for €25. All in all, it didn't seem like a bad offer, and he kindly showed us to a table for two. The show began. Clearly inexperienced and unprofessional girls served us a (ONE!) slice of salami, followed by another girl with a (ONE!) 2cm x 2cm square of omelette and a (ONE!) spoonful of their famous beans. Pointing out that we're eating very quickly (how long would it take you to eat a slice of salami?), they take our plates away to serve us the first course: gnocchi officially Valmaira-style, but clearly gnocchi with cream, which only an excessive amount of Parmesan cheese could save. Still, it's still the best dish of the evening. They kindly serve us an extra helping of bread, directly from the basket on our tablecloth. And so we move on to the second course: pork loin with potatoes. Frozen from the start, but more importantly, so badly fried that I've rarely had worse in my first years as an out-of-towner at university. Finally, dessert: this time, a wide choice of bunet, gelato, and crème caramel. Unfortunately, we both order the bunet, without having had the chance to try the other options, but what can I say? Maybe it's better this way. As we paid, we read next to the register that the official menu would have only included the typical appetizer, the first course of the day or gnocchi, and the second course of the day with a house side dish, so we wondered what the difference was between that and tonight's offering. Back home, we read other reviews late and discovered that the "unexpected staff issue" wasn't just a one-off tonight, but has been used as an excuse for a while now. With the classic "I'm giving one star because I can't give zero," we suggest not going to this place, which enjoys an excellent reputation from days long gone by!

11/07/2025: Era domenica, ci hanno intortati con la solita storia che pare propinino spesso, che erano sotto personale e che quindi se volevamo rimanere dovevamo accettare il menù fisso a 25€, chiedo cosa comprende il menù e mi viene detto primo gnocchi+secondo capocollo+dolce+caffè. Chiedo se assieme al secondo c'è anche il dolce e mi risponde di sì. A casa mia è sottinteso che se dici che c'è il contorno significa che è compreso nel prezzo, se no mi rispondi "Sì, ma è a parte". Ci pensiamo un attimo e poi accettiamo, ma chiediamo se proprio non c'è altra possibilità per i secondi, un'aleternativa e lui risponde "Siiiiii, ma si certo, abbiamo questo, questo e quell'altro". Prendiamo un primo a testa (gnocchi), un secondo (capocollo) solo con contorno (ha insistito per portarlo), niente dolce ed un solo caffè e paghiamo in totale 46€. Ma come? Non erano i menù da 25€ a testa completi di primo+secondo+dolce+caffè???? Noi non avendo preso nessun dolce, un solo secondo (che già slo lui costava 13€) e 1 solo caffè avremmo dovuto pagare almeno la metà. I conti non quadrano, c'è stata dicrepanza comunicativa VOLUTA tra quello che ci è stato detto ed il conto finale. I prezzi poi non sono mai stati indicati su un menù, ce li ha solo detti a voce. Grande segno di non trasparenza! Non tornerò mai più. P.S. Buoni gli gnocchi con la raviola (li facciamo noi a mano, come una volta ecc) ma nulla di straordinario, come dei normali buoni gnocchi fatti in casa che si trovano in tante trattorie e ristoranti. Strminzite invece le dimensioni del capocollo. Non lo consiglio per niente. Non basta la gentilezza affettata del il titolare per rendere piacevole un pranzo e lasciare un bel ricordo nei clienti.

21/09/2025: Way too slow and disorganized. We told them we had 20 mins, sat down, ordered, waited, watched people that arrived after us get served first. After 20 mins we left with NO service to our appointment.

07/09/2025: We go there for a chocolate... but there is never any!!... fortunately their cappuccino is perfect! And possible with vegetable milk

17/08/2025: It's crazy! A terrible experience. I went into this bar with my group of friends, inside the bar and not outside, and the owner insisted that we couldn't serve bottles of water or coffee, thinking they'd run out of bottles—which shouldn't happen in a bar, but can happen anyway—and that the coffee shop was closed for that time. I asked if I could have a glass of water. It wasn't to avoid paying, but at that moment I just wanted water. To this request, the owner (a truly rude person) responded with the exact words, "But that's absolutely not the case. We don't serve bottles of water or coffee because the minimum spend is €3.50, which is equivalent to a soft drink (Coke, Sprite, etc.)." At that point, I said I wouldn't take anything, and the lady replied that everyone had to consume something, and I repeat, there were eight of us, and I alone wouldn't take anything except water. I ask her for an explanation, and the lady, with a smug smile, tells me that it's her place and she makes the rules. So I decide to get up and leave, especially since I wouldn't have had much choice; if I'd wanted to stay anyway, she would have kicked me out herself. These are rules that don't exist in the world; I've never had such a bad experience in a place in my life, never. Highly discouraged; the owner should learn some humility and above all, good manners.

11/07/2025: A real Piedmont traditional dinner! Good quality and value price. It's not a Michelin restaurant, but it's a real restaurant, where you can understand the true culinary culture. It's up to you to decide what you are looking for!

17/07/2025: Paying 16 euros for a spicy salami pizza and a medium beer I'd say no... 2 euros for the cover charge when I was sitting outside is ridiculous... I went there with friends, it's the last time they'll see me, goodbye!

11/09/2025: We ordered 5 pizza for take-out, while waiting we had a chit-chat with the staff and they were kind and accomodating. We found the pizza delicious and flavourful. The pizzas that we got are: La Grotta it is with the salsiccia e friarielli, D'Autore,Pizza Parmigiana, Speck e Brie and Uno we liked what we've eaten. All in all for us the most delicious is one of those Pizza Bianche con Panna (Uno) with mozzarella, porri and salsiccia. We enjoyed our dinner and will order again soon. It is recommended!

17/08/2025: A group of five of us went there by chance. We all had pizza and had a blast! Their pizzas are excellent, as are their desserts. The staff is friendly and makes an effort to understand us despite the language barrier. The price is very reasonable. A nice surprise!
