21/08/2025: In complete disregard of the law, there's no menu displayed, or worse, no printed menu! The dishes are merely listed, so prices are kept in the dark. And while this is a completely illegal practice, one could overlook it for honest prices, but this is a rip-off! Four people, one dish each, and a €16 bottle of wine: a final bill of €185! The food isn't bad, although, as the staff repeatedly stated, "not plentiful and simple," rather ordinary. Extremely limited choice: just one appetizer, three first courses, and four second courses. To be avoided.

17/06/2025: Cibo ottimo e delicato, è stata davvero una bella scoperta. Pochi piatti secondo il pescato del giorno, tutto freschissimo. Esperienza top, da ripetere sicuramente!

Tot 125 euro Il vitello tonnato non ha soddisfatto, insalata tiepida di gamberi con asparagi e burrata ( a mio gusto non ci azzecca come gusti ) , plin buoni e spiedino con patate discreto , ottimi i dolci soprattutto " l' uovo " .. 3 calici 8 euro l'uno con una dose molto scarsa ... Lunghi i tempi di attesa soprattutto x i dolci

25/07/2025: Durante la cata de vinos nos detuvimos en este ristorante en Barbaresco para almorzar. IT es un hermoso restaurante con una gran vista del campo. Hay una terraza para comer cuando hace buen tiempo. El servicio fue genial. La comida era buena y a precios razonables.

02/11/2025: Today, All Souls' Sunday, after visiting relatives at the city cemetery, my wife and I decided to try the specialties of the Sabena café and pastry shop. Among the many items, the zabaglione (I'm a sucker for it) stood out. We ordered a hot zabaglione and a hazelnut cream. The service was prompt and impeccable. It was a shame about the zabaglione, which, neither visually nor in taste, was even remotely similar to the original Savoy recipe. A watery mess of chestnuts, which I left in the glass. I took the liberty of reporting it to the cashier, but the polite response was that they were overloaded with work and would remake it, pointing out that they used too much Marsala. I'm not disappointed that I paid for it anyway, but honestly, in their place, I would have said, "Sorry, we won't count it!"

21/09/2025: Way too slow and disorganized. We told them we had 20 mins, sat down, ordered, waited, watched people that arrived after us get served first. After 20 mins we left with NO service to our appointment.

11/06/2025: Sono tornato dopo 1 anno circa in questa storica pasticceria , stesso tavolo ( sporco ) , da consumazione di clienti precedenti , tra l’altro non l’unico ,avrei preferito all’esterno , ma sui tavoli svolazzavano i piccioni che banchettavano . Non aggiungo altro , servizio da dilettanti , ma pare vada bene così , non ci ritornerò più

The croissants (or croissants, for lovers of the French version) are perfectly leavened and have a fresh, buttery flavor. The setting is truly beautiful, with meticulous attention to detail and a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. But what really caught my attention were the products: from the cakes to the cookies, everything is made with love and care, and you can see (and especially taste!) the quality of the ingredients used. And then there are the owners: so sweet, helpful, and always ready to offer advice and make you feel at home. In short, the Mille Baci pastry shop is a true gem, and I recommend everyone visit at least once. I'll definitely be back soon!"

04/07/2025: Deeply DISAPPOINTED! Today at 5.30 I went to buy lunch to take to work, I specify the time to point out that I am one of the first customers of the day, in fact I do not deny that inside the shop it was full of freshly baked food, both sweet and savory. The problem was this, I wanted to get a focaccia stuffed with salami. I INDICATED ☝️ the product I wanted and the saleswoman at the counter with the excuse of "I'll give you this packaged one so you can eat it more easily" gave me, yes, the focaccia with salami, but the quality of it made it clear that it was not fresh that day, definitely from the day before (and I hope not later). I didn't notice it at first, also because I paid the same price as the freshly baked one... and I had to go to work as soon as possible. I had confirmation that it wasn't fresh when, at lunch, I noticed that the salami was pale in color and the focaccia was a bit rubbery, no longer soft and a bit moist on the base (most likely due to the fact that it was kept closed in plastic) and the smell wasn't the best, also because it had taken on a bit of the smell of plastic. *attached photo* I can understand that you don't want to throw away food, in fact I'm in favor of this choice, but selling a product with such a quality at the same price as one freshly baked a few hours before is wrong in my opinion... instead, a "discount" could have been applied (20-30%) or through Too Good To Go to encourage customers to buy them and avoid throwing them away. If I have to choose to spend the same amount between a freshly made product and one packaged yesterday, after having most likely been on the counter all day... I would obviously choose to buy the fresh one of the same day. Also because if I go to a bakery I do it to buy good food made on the same day, if I wanted something packaged I could have easily gotten it at the supermarket or at a food and drink distributor. I don't give 1 star because I didn't feel bad and it was edible and also because I'm a fairly regular customer, I know the products they have and I can say that they have good and valid stuff. In addition to the focaccia I bought a croissant for a colleague and she appreciated it. I kindly ask that this review be taken into consideration as a way to improve the service. Have a nice day.

22/09/2025: Good, good, GOOD!!! And... plentiful, not to mention the selection... e.g.: polenta not concia but... S concia... you find the polenta among a sea of ​​loose cheeses and not, like in many mountain places, where they foist mountains of polenta on you, just to "stuff" the customer plus traces of sauce... Perfect!

05/08/2025: I returned to this place after three years. We used to come here often, almost once a year. We were accustomed to the same service, which was a distinctive feature of the place: a set menu with all-you-can-eat polenta accompanied by various sauces and cheeses until you were full. Drinks included: water and wine. After that, dessert and coffee were served, all included. This time, we were disappointed because the service had changed: an à la carte menu, less reasonable prices, and smaller portions. In particular, a dish of polenta concia with stew, served all together in a terracotta bowl. I would have preferred at least for everything to be separate and not in one bowl. I pointed out the difference in the change. But I was told that the management has decided to modernize, and that customers are satisfied with the way it is. Maybe we're old-fashioned.

10/09/2025: It's a place I appreciate and I'm happy to return to. However, during a book presentation and aperitif, the organization wasn't entirely clear: no one invited anyone to help themselves, so many guests, myself included, stood around staring at the banquet without taking anything. It was a shame, because it really didn't take much to make the experience more welcoming, and as good manners dictate, the staff is expected to get the ball rolling (not everyone has two hours to wait for an aperitif, what with family and other things)... In the end, we preferred to have an aperitif elsewhere so as not to be embarrassed, which was almost paradoxical, but we took it philosophically. That said, the place is still good and the management is good: with a little more attention, it would have been 'the' evening and not 'just' an evening.
