05/03/2026: An unpleasant experience, bordering on decency. It is unacceptable for a Michelin-starred restaurant not to notify its customers of the kitchen's early closing time. The restaurant has posted hours, and if it decides to change its hours DURING the evening, it is required to notify its customers. After ordering several appetizers and four of the five proposed first courses, a €150 bottle, we ordered a second bottle of wine, also €150. We had already mentioned in the dining room that we would also like to try the second courses, their cheeses, and their desserts. When we asked for them, they told us the chef had left; it was 9:56 PM! Incredulous at what we had heard, especially given the time, we decided to leave. The waitress returned, telling us she had reprimanded the chef "by the hair" (a surreal scene with a total lack of professionalism, with the chef in plain clothes giving us a nasty look). We refused and asked for the bill upfront, sending back the second bottle of wine. The scene had surprised and disappointed us greatly. Total chaos ensued; none of the staff in the dining room were able to handle the situation. When we asked to pay the bill (€360), they held us up at the cashier because no one knew how to proceed; they had to call the manager, who wasn't there. When we asked to pay without a discount because we wanted to leave, they told us they didn't know what to do, and we had to wait. After a 20-minute wait, they gave us a 16.67% discount, or €60, and gave us three packs of tajarin with two biscuits. We felt truly cheated, not to mention mocked because we left hungry. Even more painfully, we paid in cash; they left us a bill, not a receipt. Shameful, never again.

The pizza is truly delicious: light, well-leavened, and easily digestible, with fresh ingredients that make all the difference. The service is always top-notch: fast, attentive, and friendly. The lady who welcomes us is genuinely kind, the kind of presence that helps make guests feel at ease. The atmosphere is pleasant, well-kept, and relaxing, perfect for a quiet evening. Recommended!

08/03/2026: Delicious pizza and a huge salad. Friendly service staff, but unfortunately very loud and crowded. They tend to serve food quickly; we had to slow down the service a bit because they were reassigning tables multiple times.

03/03/2026: The rooms are spacious and clean, and parking is easy. On Monday evenings, the family restaurant across the street is closed, so you can eat at the hotel. They go out of their way to ensure you have a wonderful evening: a refined menu, a well-chosen wine selection, a complimentary glass of prosecco to start your meal, and a small grappa to round off the meal! The waiters are extremely friendly. In short, a very warm welcome, unbeatable value for money—we wish we could find only establishments like this when we travel!

05/04/2026: Excellent wines, delicious dishes, and overall an excellent restaurant. I tried the Fassona tartare, the plin (a kind of pasta dish), and the risotto, each dish better than the last. I also note the extreme kindness that, from what I've seen, distinguishes all the innkeepers and shopkeepers in Barolo. A wonderful village, definitely worth a visit!

01/04/2026: I had lunch at the inn on Sunday, March 29, while passing through on my way to Siena. Magnificent place, excellent food; I really enjoyed the pappardella with Cinta ragù and the guanciale. The price was reasonable for the quality of the ingredients served.

The food is excellent, the gelato even better, and let's not forget the lovely kids' area near the dining tables. In short, it's truly the perfect place for families...you can eat in peace and the kids can play nearby! Unfortunately, few places think about children...but Gelapajo does! A 10 for this place, the staff, and the food!

After two months, I also wanted to try home delivery, which was also excellent! Perfect delivery: Food arrived hot and well packaged. Ordering from the Gelapajo app is very simple, fast, and intuitive. I also recommend delivery.
