02/12/2025: Returning to Da Vittorio has become a ritual for me, an unmissable event every time I get the chance. I've been frequenting this temple of haute cuisine for two years now, and what continues to amaze me is their almost supernatural ability to maintain an extremely high standard, night after night, season after season.
The cuisine blends impeccable technique, gastronomic memory, and contemporary intuition with disarming ease. The offerings are never predictable: each dish is a declaration of intent, a story that weaves together tradition, research, and innovation with rare coherence. 10/12/2025: Calling it a pizzeria or pinseria is, in my opinion, a decidedly understatement. At this restaurant run by Biagio, I had a truly extraordinary culinary experience. The dishes show the passion, research, and work that goes into what's served. It's undeniably superior to the average restaurant around, and the prices are decidedly affordable. I will definitely return to this restaurant as soon as I have the chance. In my opinion, it's worth a visit, and for me, coming from Bologna, as @BrunoBarbieri says, "It's worth the trip."

05/11/2025: Luigi is a good host and master of the art, thoroughly describing his dishes and wine pairings. The three stars, rather than four, are due to the complete lack of tablecloths and the fact that I had to ask for cutlery to share some shared dishes with other diners. Even a simple white table runner, given the presence of a cutlery rest and the price, would prevent the (black) tables from being covered in fingerprints! Good luck, Luigi; you're already good, but you can still improve.

15/11/2025: We loved it so much we returned a couple of nights later. Food is FANTASTIC, choose either a la carte or degustation menu which can be a choice of 2 or 3 dishes. Lovely intimate atmosphere with friendly owners. Not to be missed! A must when visiting Lucca. Can’t recommend it highly enough! A delicious meal awaits you 😊

23/11/2025: The restaurant is very well-maintained, with a small waterfall visible from the windows and the mill beneath the glass floor. There are two tasting menus and the option to order à la carte. The ingredients are of high quality, and the dishes are beautifully presented in a beautiful setting with professional service. Prices are high, but they reflect the research and hard work behind the scenes by the kitchen team. Worth a try.

The food is excellent and high-quality, the only flaw being the very small quantity... It's a shame because it was really good and I would have eaten much more. I'm not saying the dishes should have been huge like at a mountain hut, but at least there should have been a little more; after all, they're just tastings.

10/12/2025: It was a flawless meal. The paper-wrapped vongole is a must-try.
This is my seventh day in Italy, and so far, it's the best restaurant I've ever had.
It was even better because it had parking, which is rare in this area, and I was really touched that they guided me to my car when I left.
If I ever come back here again, I'll definitely come back.

I visited again after two years, and the vongole was still the best.
I actually wasn't a huge fan of vongole, and I've tried Choi Hyun-seok's vongole in Korea, but I can't say it compares to this place.
I'd definitely visit again if I were to return, and I highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
I ordered the course again this time and was satisfied, but I really wanted to order two bowls of vongole.
The bread before the meal was also really delicious.

We arrived late without a reservation and still managed to get a table on the terrace to enjoy the last rays of sunshine. We truly enjoyed ourselves. The portions were very generous, with complimentary amuse-bouches for the starter and canelés for dessert. The canelés were particularly good. The waitress also spoke excellent French. I highly recommend it!! 🥳

Our expectations were not disappointed: a welcoming seafood restaurant located in the heart of Caltagirone, just steps from the famous Scala di Santa Maria. The staff welcomed us with extreme kindness and immediately showed their willingness to present the menu, discussing it between courses. The quality/price ratio is remarkable, and the dishes were very fresh and plentiful! Highly recommended! Photos show some of the dishes we sampled.
23/11/2025: We fell upon this lovely restaurant whilst walking round Ortigia at the beginning of NoBennett. Delightful staff, exceptional service, good menu, fabulous food, good value. Paul had excellent swordfish and I (non fish eater) had beautifully cooked chicken escalope. So good we went a second time in our one week holiday and it was just as good the second time.

15/12/2025: A quiet, unpretentious, charming place. The service was fabulous---the matron checked on us just enough to make us feel we were being well taken care of, but was never overbearing or intrusive. She had perfect suggestions for food and wine, even telling us when we were ordering that we were ordering too much, and that we shouldn't get certain dishes. The food itself was delicious, everything impeccably prepared and beautifully presented. The chef even came out to ask us how we were enjoying it. The prices, especially considering the quality of the food, are eminently reasonable. I recommend this place without reservation or qualification. Even though I will be in Milan only a week, I plan to return here before I leave.

15/11/2025: I went for lunch today and had the eight-course tasting menu. The location is very pretty, probably a renovated old house in the valleys, and it really gives the feeling of an intimate moment.
Before talking about the menu, I'd like to say a few words about the service: the two ladies in the dining room were wonderful, anticipating every need, punctual but never intrusive, with a smile plastered on their faces and, above all, knowledgeable. It's a pleasure to listen to them discuss both the dishes and the wine. This should be the norm in a restaurant of this caliber, but having been to several, I assure you it's not.
To discuss the menu in detail: €140 + €35 for the pairing with three glasses of wine, one of the best value I've experienced.
The amuse bouche are very interesting, from the sweetness of the pumpkin to the more intense flavor of the takoyaki and chicken livers, finishing with the mock macaron and the rocher, with a hint of fried herbs (what a frying!).
The first two dishes were probably the ones that left me most amazed, perhaps because I had underestimated them: course 0 cream of cauliflower with trout caviar and thyme, an incredible balance, the part on the surface pushes so much with the savory that the cream then dulls (by the way, it almost seemed like a foam with its consistency) and the herb that then finishes off, enhancing all the previous flavors and preparing you for the next bite. The cavolo nero leaf with truffle doesn't seem like a dish with too many pretensions in terms of flavor, but the combination of the bitterness, the truffle on top, and what's under the leaf makes it explode in the mouth and for me deserves the award for best dish on the menu. I'm not a fan of snails as a raw ingredient, but the pairing with the formai de mut and the bitterness of the asparagus is very interesting. The sweetbreads are another dish of the highest quality, cooked and therefore obviously perfectly textured, with an enviable aroma of the grill and maillard. The two first courses were pleasant, but in my opinion, a step behind the appetizers and main courses. The black lemon in the rice was a real highlight, giving it a truly interesting twist. The eel was very smoky, but I personally enjoyed it, with the acidic grapefruit and hazelnut cream keeping it under control very well. I really appreciated the two versions of lamb, including sirloin, paired with tarragon (my opinion: the herb is better than the meat, and not because the meat isn't). On the rolled belly, the herbs tried everything they could but couldn't quite make it. The flavor was very intense, and it should be pleasant because it left the mouth feeling very full and heavy, but the kitchen knows this well, and in fact, the fir granita arrived next, which, besides being delicious, brought the palate back to a completely neutral state. A sugar-free dessert, but very balanced, with a perfect level of sweetness, and a truly remarkable little pastry, with the added punch of the cannoli with whiskey cream.
In short: exceptional cuisine, perfect pairings, beautiful location, and impeccable staff. I'll definitely be back to try the other menus, especially the vegetarian one, given the magic the chefs have shown they can work!
