10/05/2025: We returned to this place after the renovation, but the environment, now smaller and a bit chaotic, disappointed us. However, we appreciated the table service, which was kind and attentive. The pizza options left us perplexed: many are decidedly alternatives - such as those with tartare, polenta or pieces of wild boar - which in our opinion distort the essence of pizza a bit. We understand that some may appreciate them, but perhaps it would be useful to also expand the offer of more traditional flavours. Our pizzas were decent, but not excellent. We had thought about organizing a celebration with friends here, but the experience didn't convince us and we will probably change our mind. In the past we had recommended it to others, now we would not do so with the same certainty.

14/01/2025: I have been working in Saronno for 22 years, I had never gone into Galli to have lunch, so I decide, also due to the rush and the little time to try, I go in and with a certain arrogance that I didn't expect I am immediately asked "But have you booked? " I answer No, I add that if this had been a problem I could calmly turn on my heel and leave, almost as if they were doing me a favor they tell me "there is the last table, it would be for two but it's fine anyway" I think of that point, given the attitude, to leave again, but I resist, I take a deep breath and stay given the little time available to me. The waitress arrives and I ask what seconds they had? He replies "if you like it we have vitello tonnato". One of my favorite dishes, so I accept and am also recommended a side dish of baked potatoes. I get this dish, which in reality is not a dish and one of those multi-course style tastings from a tasting menu. I am extremely stunned, both by the 4 narrow slices of veal tuna, which are not even found at the soup kitchen, but even more so by the 5 cubes of 1cmx1cm baked potatoes placed as a "garnish" in a small metal cup, when I see the dish I am incredulous, I look at the waitress astonished and bite my tongue, because I was about to ask her if it was a joke?!? But it's not a joke, the dish is just that, done and finished, stuff for 8.90 euros at the bar!! Having eaten this small amount, I am left with an infinite hunger in my body, but given the surreal situation I can't wait to leave. So I go to the cash register to pay and I think to myself "can you see they even ask me 20 euros for a taste of veal with tuna sauce and 5 cubes of baked potatoes" and my ego says to myself, "if so don't go back again" (be careful when I say 5 cubes of baked potatoes 1cmx1cm I'm not being ironic nor when I say 4 slices of veal with tuna sauce, it went exactly like that). Well, to make a long story short, at the checkout I was presented with a bill of 36 euros, as if we were in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan and not in the run-down and neglected Via San Giuseppe in Saronno. Obviously I will never return to this place again, making a quick calculation the vitello tonnato (about 80 g) at 300 euros per kg (24 EUROS FROM RECEIPT) but even worse the 5 baked potatoes (about 10/15 g) at 7 euros, this means that I paid between 500 and 700 euros per kg for them. I don't think there's anything else to add other than loudly saying NEVER AGAIN!

25/11/2024: Simply the best you can find looking for the best taste. Matteo is extraordinarily knowledgeable about the knowledge of the products, not to mention the wines, the TOP. PECK, just a distant memory.

21/01/2025: Nel percorso verso la Multimedica di Castellanza, ci imbattiamo in questa pasticceria / caffetteria in una piazzola accanto ad un comodo parcheggio. Devo confessarvi che siamo stati attirati da un signore che usciva felice con un cabaret di paste e ci siamo lasciati contagiare provando a fare colazione. Devo dire: ottima! Ottimi i cappucci ed ottime le brioche. Parcheggio davanti. Cosa chiedere di più?

06/05/2025: Bella location, ma prezzi esagerati, soprattutto per un pranzo di lavoro. 22 euro per primo, contorno, acqua e caffè sono veramente un'esagerazione. In altri ristoranti ho fatto pranzi completi (primo, secondo, contorno, vino e caffè) a 13 euro con una qualità dei prodotti simile. Sicuramente non tornerò più per un pranzo di lavoro.

30/05/2025: Beware of fraud! We made a reservation at the restaurant to have a good meal. The food was excellent and the taste was top-notch! We can't complain at all. Unfortunately, the surroundings weren't great. They tried to scam us. We asked if there was parking available for visitors/guests of the restaurant. There was, and we parked our car there. On the bill for the meal, we saw that €15 had been charged for parking. However, the parking lot sign stated in Italian that the parking space was reserved for guests (see photo I uploaded). After discussing this with the waiter, who then asked the manager, I also asked the other guests around us if they had to pay for parking. They all said no, because the parking space was reserved for guests. Only we were charged the €15. After back and forth and discussion, the €15 was removed from the bill, and we paid and left. Upstairs at the exit, the manager (his name is Silvio Battistoni) came towards us and cursed and insulted us. We tried calmly to explain that it was unfair why we had to pay for parking while all the other guests didn't. He simply said that everyone had to pay and that we should just ask the others. I told him that I had actually done that, and the answer was that they didn't have to pay. He got angry and didn't know what to say and just said that because we had a "supercar," we should pay the price. If we had the money for a "supercar," then we had to pay the €15. We tried to explain that it wasn't about the money, but that they were trying to rip us off. Why didn't everyone else have to pay and only we did because we had a "supercar" (his words)? He threw us out and slammed the door. Unfortunately, a very unpleasant experience. Because the food and the atmosphere were top-notch! It was really great. But having to try to cheat someone out of €15 while all the other guests don't have to pay is a real shame.

04/05/2025: Ci saremmo aspettati qualcosa di meglio, partendo dalla location ferma a trent’anni fa, servizio decisamente non perfetto e non al livello in cui si vogliono piazzare, cucina anonima, semplice, nulla che abbia quel qualcosa in più… unica nota positiva gli entreè e il dolce. A Varese ci sono altri ristoranti dove mangiare meglio.

11/06/2025: We came to Saronno from Turkey by car, they helped us a lot in this restaurant. Their pizzas and desserts are delicious, the staff is friendly and helpful, we will come again, thank you for everything 🥰

27/04/2025: Preso una piadina (che piadina non era visto che usava l'impasto della pizza). Al momento di pagare in cassa sostengono che io abbia dato una banconota da 10€ al posto che quella che go dato da 20€. Occhi aperti, posto da evitare.

04/05/2025: Negative experience at this place. The bartender should consider changing jobs, since being in contact with customers does not seem to be her strong point. Fortunately, the motto written on the mirror behind her suggests a very profound life attitude, which evidently does not suit her. It all started with the order: in addition to a cappuccino and a croissant, I clearly asked for a glass of sparkling water. After less than half a minute, he asks me how I preferred the water... okay, but when I went to pay, instead of taking the money politely, he left me the change without saying a word, without saying goodbye. I pointed out what was written on the mirror behind her, and she responded with a fake grin, similar to that of a 3 euro coin. Now I understand why the bar next door was full and this one wasn't. Dear manager, if you care about your business, I advise you to pay attention to the staff you employ.
