06/04/2026: We had lunch at Villa Baroni on Easter Monday. The property offers limited parking, but a few meters ahead, there are two free public parking lots. Because it was a special day, the restaurant was very crowded, and the wait was a bit long (but we weren't in a hurry, so it didn't bother us). The only downside was that some waiters, one in particular, was running (literally) around the room. The food was delicious; the raw fish appetizer was excellent; we highly recommend it. The view is beautiful, and after lunch, we stopped by the pool to soak up some rays. That part of the property is also very beautiful. We'll definitely be back.

31/03/2026: We celebrated our wedding at this restaurant on Lake Varese with about 20 people, and we were truly delighted. The menu was well thought out, the dishes were of excellent quality and carefully prepared, and the service was efficient, friendly, and always attentive. All our guests had a wonderful time. We definitely recommend this place for special occasions.

20/07/2026: I ate here for the first time with my sister. We're originally from Varese, but currently live abroad. The food was excellent and high-quality. The zucchini timbale was very delicate yet flavorful. The sourdough bread crouton is a bit like a country bruschetta, with various ingredients that make it appetizing. The pork cheek, cooked for 12 hours, flaked in the mouth with a truly delicious softness. The rare sliced ​​steak was also excellent. All accompanied by an excellent 2020 Sangiovese and Merlot blend. To finish, the typical dessert: a regional tart with blueberry jam. The staff were truly helpful and kind, always smiling and super welcoming, especially considering my food allergies. 12/02/2026: It's a restaurant designed and built to be a restaurant, rather than the usual renovations of villas or houses. The project was also carried out by professionals, and it shows, rather than by restaurateurs' wives, who have watched a few series on the Discovery Channel... The kitchen tries to explore new approaches, new combinations. The waiting staff is kind and attentive. If it had a lake, it would be a perfect place.

25/07/2026: A truly disappointing experience. I was extremely perplexed by what happened at this place. As an Italian, I felt treated so poorly that I felt like a tourist who had stumbled upon it, despite being at a table with locals. The welcome and service left much to be desired: we were greeted with the so-called "basic service" (as the waiter described it), which consisted of four still and four sparkling waters being automatically brought to the table. Now, the question arises: what if someone didn't like sparkling water? Wouldn't asking before serving be a minimal gesture of consideration towards the customer? To top it all off, we were brought chips considered part of their "supplementary service," only to find them promptly on the final bill. A ploy that clearly looked like a way to extort a few extra euros from customers. The pizza was good, it must be said, but the treatment I received left me truly outraged. I will never return. Goodbye.

20/07/2026: Unfortunately, my experience at Pepe Rosa in Varese was extremely negative. We booked for 8:00 PM and only managed to get out at 11:00 PM. An endless wait for a simple dinner of... Pizza... Service and timing: It took a full hour just to take everyone's orders. An unacceptable pace. Dessert arrived after four calls; it seemed like an insurmountable obstacle. Incorrect strategy: As soon as we were seated, before we even ordered, they brought us unlimited water, both sparkling and still (we didn't like sparkling but thought it was free and didn't mention it) and chips we hadn't asked for, which we still didn't refuse because the waiter implied they were free, even though the protagonist of the incident later charged us for them at the reception. A shady way to "extort" our alms (that's what I call them as an entrepreneur) right from the start, securing an extra income of almost €40 on unordered items. Welcome at the cash register: cold, arrogant, and visibly unfriendly. Truly poor. Food and bill: The pizza was absolutely average, and the list prices might be fair, but the final impression was one of pure, disguised financial extortion. Conclusion: The average food quality doesn't justify such treatment and such slow service.

28/01/2026: We've been coming to this place since long before it was what it is now: I think the first time was in 1993 or so! It's still run by the same family, and we can say we've become true friends for a long time. The quality is consistently excellent: top-quality ingredients in just the right quantities, cooked in an electric oven with results that rival those of the best wood-fired pizzerias; a welcoming, family atmosphere, and fast, friendly service. In over thirty years, we've never been disappointed.
