29/03/2026: This place was recommended by friends. The first impression when you walk through the door isn't the best; it feels like a trip back to the '80s. Then the staff leads you to your table, and everything changes. The service has always been attentive and meticulous, and every dish was presented impeccably, with a smile that never hurts. I expected much more from the dishes on offer; nothing special, and the price I consider excessive for the quality and quantity. A comment on the acoustics of the room. I could hear the neighbors talking about what to do with their son who's bad at math, but I had trouble understanding what my wife was saying.

21/04/2026: Opposite Visconti Castle, in a very quiet town, while transiting through Malpensa Airport waiting for my flight, I found this beautiful restaurant with incredibly friendly and helpful staff and a Michelin-starred menu. The interior decor is fantastic, with 17th-century stone walls and wooden beams on the roof; it was once the castle's barn. The menu was fantastic, and the chef was very talented. I tried a true Milanese saffron risotto that wasn't even on the menu. The best ever. Great selection, and I'll be back.

06/03/2026: I had a wonderful experience at Castigo. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, with a very authentic Italian vibe that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. The food was excellent 🫶🏼🫶🏼 fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and full of flavor. You can really tell there is care and passion behind each dish. The staff was also very friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy great food, and have a memorable evening. Definitely a restaurant I would happily return to when in the area. Highly recommended!

26/04/2026: A charming, charming, and welcoming place. The staff is very friendly without being intrusive. A wide variety of food and drinks, for all budgets. The food is high-quality, well-cooked, and plentiful. It's nice that there's no cover charge. The Chianina rib-eye steak with side dishes and the large mixed grill are excellent. Fair prices. We'll be back to try other dishes. Worth a try.

09/04/2026: We were passing through this area on our holiday and we are so happy that we found this restaurant. Food was excellent and so was the service and ambiance too. We ordered a starter and I don’t eat meat, so they offered a vegetarian option, and it was delicious. The main course was also excellent and the dessert was cherry on top,fresh yoghurt with berries, so good and fresh. Our waiter Omar was great and really friendly. He kindly gave us many tips on what to do and see in the area. We recommend this family owned restaurant wholeheartedly. Great dining experience.

30/03/2026: I went to Osteria della Purtascia with my friends on Sunday for lunch. If you're looking for a place where you can feel at home, but with high-quality cuisine, this is the place. The restaurant is beautiful and very well-kept, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. It's the perfect setting for a lunch/dinner with friends, where you can chat and enjoy yourself. The hospitality was the added bonus. All the staff is extremely kind, but a special mention goes to the waitress, Luana, who was truly exquisite. We really appreciated the way the owner explains the products on the menu: he does it with such a fascinating passion that it makes you want to try everything! ​The food is truly delicious. Here are some dishes we tried: Appetizer: The egg with truffle was simply delicious, balanced, and fragrant. ​First course: We chose a special of the day, paccheri with sausage, porcini mushrooms, saffron, and a sprinkling of red berries. A refined, original, and decidedly tasty dish. ​Wine: The house wine also proved to be an excellent choice, perfect for accompanying dinner. ​In summary: An excellent experience in every way. We'll definitely be back!

05/05/2026: Spectacular seafood restaurant, but you can also find meat. Highly recommended. It's a shame about the town it's in; it's not the best in terms of scenery or for an after-dinner stroll. But the restaurant is top-notch, and I give it 5 stars for everything. Highly recommended. Good!

12/03/2026: Wonderful atmosphere, ancient stone building and authentic, romantic and warm design. Excellent service even for English speakers. And excellent food. We ordered a cheese and sausage platter, meat-filled ravioli, pizza with chestnuts, caramelized onions and brie and pizza with buffalo cheese and basil. For dessert we had a warm chocolate cake and a chocolate cake with pears. The dishes were delicious, perfect in terms of seasoning. We enjoyed it very much

It's a historic establishment established in 1875 along an ancient equestrian trail used by Milanese nobility to reach the area on horseback. Its origins are linked to the "Pista Sant'Uberto," a private road/trail used for horseback riding: hence the name, which preserves the memory of the area and its ancient customs. The menu combines revisited classic dishes with more creative options, with the wood-fired oven as the central element of the dining experience. The pizza selection is truly extensive, including gourmet pizzas and seafood dishes; so it's a place suitable for both a full dinner and a more informal evening. There are several rooms, plus a covered veranda, and overall seating is quite large. The main dining room boasts a remarkable selection of wines; the tables are well-spaced, the restaurant offers fast service, and is very clean. Its proximity to the airport adds value to those planning to stay nearby. Recommended!

08/03/2026: Stayed with family over the weekend of March 6-8. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming: the common areas were just a bit "lived in," yet well-maintained and clean. The room was cozy and spacious: a comfortable bed, an excellent and manageable temperature, and amenities beyond our expectations. The location was perfect: right on the edge of the pedestrian area. The restaurant is fantastic, and after our first dinner, we never changed because of the authentic and balanced flavor (tagliatelle with meat sauce, ossobuco with polenta, a welcome appetizer, and complimentary limoncello). It's clear that the entire team has put a lot of care, professionalism, and grace into everything. Excellent value. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of dried fruit and cereals, and on Sundays, cakes galore. You can tell when someone loves their job. If I were to return to Varese 100 times, I'd always stay at the Hotel Bologna.
