We're talking about every type of job: restaurateur, instructor, lawyer, accountant, etc. That is definitely PASSION, and the guys who work in this restaurant have a lot of it. They're first and foremost passionate about what they do and know how to convey what the world of cooking means to them. If for you, it's not just food, but an experience, a way to enrich your culinary knowledge and, of course, a desire to eat well, the right place for you is Mater Bistrot. If you choose the tasting menu, your experience will begin with Chef Alex's first treat: butter enriched with onion soup served with warm bread—it's hard to slow down... Next, they serve their delicious empanadas and, to freshen up, a cleft leaf with giardiniera inside. Next, their turnip greens risotto, which reflects the traditional flavors of the chef, who tells us about his use of local produce. Their splendid diaphragm completes the savory portion, a dish truly worth trying. Their cheesecake is truly excellent, a combination of sweet and savory that satisfies even our sweet tooth. All this is complemented by a lovely atmosphere, and the service is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. If you want to spend a lovely evening and eat well, Mater Bistrot is definitely what you're looking for.

22/11/2025: It's a classic, old-fashioned restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, making sure we understood the Italian menu and explaining what we had ordered in English. The food was homemade and very good, with quick service. For dessert, we had tiramisu and crema catalana, all delicious, and the total price was €40—excellent for Milan.

11/12/2025: A beautiful place, sure, even trendy, with equally high-quality cuisine... but what's surprising, especially today, is the wait staff: young, polite, approachable, smiling, and knowledgeable. In a word, professional, something that's far from a given these days and which, unfortunately, few understand is one of the elements that makes the difference. Kudos to those who coordinate them and, above all, to them.

08/11/2025: I had dinner with family and friends. The appetizers and first courses were excellent. For my taste, I preferred the Florentine rib eye steak. A decent selection of wines, with excellent recommendations from the owner, who always knows how to give the best advice. It's become a regular stop when I want to eat well and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.

28/09/2025: Came back to Milan from a 6 day trek in Aosta valley, we had a great experinece here! There was a jam-session of blues music when we arrived, and the atmosphere was so nice. Great selection of beers and whiskies, the burger was very good, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Will definetly come back next time we are in Milan.

14/12/2025: Everything was excellent; they understand celiac disease and can make almost the entire menu gluten-free. The pasta dishes were sublime, and the desserts were delicious. The waiter was very kind and knowledgeable. The prices were slightly higher than average, but justified by the quality of the dishes. We'll be trying the gluten-free pizza soon.

23/11/2025: The tramezzini are fantastic, with plenty of fillings and interesting combinations. The prices are fair, and the selection is wide and varied. The place is small but charming, and there's the option to eat outside. It's definitely a place that stands out from the usual kebab or pizzerias, offering a traditional Italian dish that's well-known but rarely eaten. Kudos to the gentleman who runs the place and his hard work.
