06/04/2024: This one is Italian seafood par excellence. If you like an authentic kitchen - this is the place to be. We came here around 6 and this place was literally empty. We were greeted by the waiters who lined up on the staircase. As we were their first guests that evening, service was prompt and friendly. Some of the waiters boast a well rehearsed level of English. As the evening moved on, the restaurant quickly filled up with well dressed best agers. The crowd itself is Italian only so don't expect any international cuisine or a washed out fashion kitchen. This is a local as it gets. So if you are ready to dive into an evening of Italian kitchen pure and unaltered this is the place.

06/04/2024: I had already been to you with a Sardinian wine producer and I must say that we had a great time with the food. The portion of fregola is a little smaller than normal. I give only one piece of advice to the owner, fire the dark-skinned boy who appears to be South American. He annoyed and bothered two Russian girls in a heavy way who were at the table next to us without paying attention to us. I tell you, when I asked what the wines were by the glass, he couldn't answer me. This scene went on until the two girls, as soon as they had eaten their meal, ran away. I wouldn't have even paid the bill if I were them. Embarrassing

05/04/2024: I would like to respond to Gianmauro Carlone's review, which unfortunately there is no possibility to leave a comment under his review. First of all, my colleague and I often have lunch at La Cala and we've always had a good time! The gentleman indicated above reported that a waiter was bothering two Russian girls, me being Ukrainian and my Russian colleague, as underlined by South American Gianmauro according to his observation, but being a bit superficial he may not have noticed that we were just joking with each other there, as we do every time when we are at La Cala for lunch, otherwise we would have told the waiter to leave us alone, and we didn't run away, having an hour for lunch we are always in a hurry to get back to work in time. This waiter is always very attentive, as are all the staff at La Cala, they are always very attentive and kind, so I wish Mr. Gianmauro before writing complaints against others, be sure that they really have the reason even if it were done with good intentions, it is better to write exclusively for yourself first.

05/04/2024: THE DISGUSTING service, EXTREME slowness, even to bring the letter. The food is good but I wouldn't go back because the service was FATAL.

29/03/2024: The best fish restorant in whole euroe !!! Very fair price for the bewt quality of fish & wine. Its a reason for us to visit Milano, ver just so sad that you are close during easter :(

26/03/2024: Very good food, each course carefully prepared, generous portions, not very elaborate but very genuine and tasty in an authentic way. In hindsight I would have avoided a series of appetizers that were still tasty and good but which jeopardized the choice of a second course with no more appetite. Extremely friendly service, I would say almost familiar as if you have known them for a long time. Normal prices adapted to the quantity, quality and freshness as well as obviously to the fact of being in Milan. Reservation is also strongly recommended. I will definitely come back

26/03/2024: Evening in company dedicated to the Sardinian pig, requested in advance. Tender and tasty meat. Simple but tasty cold cuts appetizer. Easy going place, a bit small so booking is mandatory. Friendly and helpful staff. I will return to taste the fish offering.

07/03/2024: Eravamo a una visita dal dietologo.. abbiamo visto questo ristorante e abbiamo rovinato tutto. La prossima volta prenotiamo nell'altro studio. Cmq qui abbiamo trovato la Sardegna,con i suoi gusti e profumi a Milano. Top.

21/03/2024: hospitality and kindness. I found the pizza fantastic, neither too thin nor too thick, crispy edge and excellent toppings, generous without being over the top. Unfiltered Ichnusa on tap which is not easy to find. The seadas for dessert is a must given the typical nature of the restaurant... excellent!

16/03/2024: I ate well. The service is not very fast (but not slow either) probably because they do everything at the moment). Perhaps the place is not very characteristic, but it is clean and tidy. However I would go back.

27/03/2024: We arrived at 2pm, restaurant closing at 3pm. We were greeted quite nicely and ordered a Pizza each. The pizza was quite nice, however upon trying to order a second dish 35min before lunch break of the restaurant we were told the kitchen is already closed, much to our dismay. Next, nowhere on the menu card was the service fee indicated. Once we received the bill it hit us as a shock. 3€ per person as service fee. The usual fee is 1.50€-2€ in Milano. We ordered 2 Pizza & 0.75L water for 18€ and paid 6€ service fee. 33% extra. Thats too much. Additionally and lastly, the water bottle we purchased was 0.75L. But the bill indicated 1L water. We asked why it said 1L, when the bottle said 0.75L. The waitress waved us off and we left. We have to assume it's a tourist trap. Wouldn't recommend. The pizza itself was quite nice.
