25/06/2025: Historic restaurant in the province of Como that offers traditional rustic dishes. I have been going to this restaurant for years, often for group dinners to taste typical dishes such as cossoeula (very good), pizzoccheri or game with polenta and I must say that I have seen it change a lot over the years. From a somewhat spartan restaurant it has increasingly become a "refined/characteristic" restaurant, in fact in addition to renovating the dining room it also offers evenings with Karaoke. I must say that it has still managed to maintain the tastes and flavors of the past even if it has increased the price list which for me is higher than it should be. It is a restaurant that I recommend for evenings with friends to spend a fun evening in front of typical dishes that are difficult to find, in such a large number of choices, in other restaurants.

05/06/2025: Todo fue perfecto. La comida era muy sabrosa, las porciones son enormes, bien decorado, gran aparcamiento, todo el mundo es muy amable y profesional. El ambiente también es muy agradable.

14/06/2025: Il Casottino is a rare gem, one of those places that enter your heart from the first moment. The atmosphere is warm, authentic, with a perfect balance between tradition and attention to detail. Each dish is an explosion of true, genuine, memorable flavors. The cuisine is simply extraordinary, with very fresh ingredients and a passion that can be felt in every bite. But what makes the experience complete is the impeccable service. A special mention goes without a doubt to the waitress who served us and accommodated all our countless requests (unfortunately I don't know her name): kind, smiling, attentive and helpful. I recommend “Il Casottino” with all my heart, we will definitely be back again and again.

27/07/2025: Typical highly touristic overpriced low-quality place🫸🏻 I made this nice pic before realizing that I ordered one of the most awful pizzas I have ever tried. How con you make a pizza full of truffle with zero taste? Well, go to this place. They have the recipe. Besides the tasteless experience, the crust was dried and inedible. This atrocity costed 30 euros. I don’t mind to spend money in good food. This was a waste of time and money.

01/08/2025: Always delicious food here. Super tasty and fresh. Except for the burgers, which are extremely dry; the bun is so thick you could hammer a nail into the wall with it. Only the lettuce and tomato are fresh; the rest tastes like a microwaved burger.

05/08/2025: We came to this restaurant due to the reviews, expecting something special. Expecting a top restaurant in Como, something we would remember for a long time. We ended up meeting an owner who appeared to be drunk and had problems understanding every single word in English or French, even though he was bragging that he speaks 10 languages. Furthermore, he lacked articulation/understanding even in Italian, as we were also very fluent Italian speakers. However, we managed to have a table, which was very poorly decorated, as was everything else in the restaurant. We ordered food and when asked, due to our manners we said that everything was alright, as our intention was to eat peacefully, drink a bottle of wine and leave. But that was not true, the food was nothing special. Then, the owner kept bragging about how his restaurant was the best in Como and how the food was of super quality, which in fact was as regular as eating at a gas station, not at someplace considered fine dining. He also offered us some glasses of 0.15 ml of Prosecco (a bottle worth 2 euros), telling us later how no one in Italy offers and is generous like him. In reality, in every fine dining in Italy everyone offers Prosecco. Anyhow, we tried to see him as an entertainer, as someone who is trying to make a euro, even tried to understand his style of communication, but it was really hard. He was approaching us as if he were a billionaire with the mentality of the 18th century. In the end, we paid 112 euros, for an antipasti, two other dishes and a bottle of wine, in an environment suffocated by tables, with an interior that looked like a fast-food or a kebab place, even though I have the most respect for fast food and kebab places due to their honesty. As a person who loves to eat, enjoy wine and has a lot of experience in outdoor eating, I honestly need to say that this is a tourist trap, and would not suggest anyone eating here. Even a burger at McDonald’s or a meal at supermarkets in Italy are more worthy. In the end, I would respect the effort of the servers who were extremely professional and polite, probably the best ones we encountered during our two-week stay in Como. However, they deserve better. In the end, I would say: save your money, do not go there.

05/08/2025: We had a reservation, but when we arrived, the restaurant was packed and in total disarray. We waited inside for more than 30 minutes as the owner, clearly drunk, stumbled around the space, shouting, slamming chairs, and behaving aggressively toward both staff and guests. It created an atmosphere that felt more chaotic than welcoming. The staff seemed exhausted, trying hard to manage the situation, but it was clear they were being pushed to their limits. People come here expecting a nice evening and spend good money to enjoy the experience, but instead, what we got was stress and tension. By the end of the meal, the owner sat outside with a woman (possibly his wife) and began speaking loudly, and bizarrely. As Spanish speakers, we understood some of what he was saying, and it only added to the discomfort. She remained completely silent, which made the whole scene feel even heavier. We had read some reviews hinting at this kind of behavior, but seeing it firsthand was something else. It feels like the owner has given up on managing the place with care. The food might still attract people for now, but if this continues, the restaurant won’t last much longer. So sad.

21/07/2025: Friendly welcome. Pleasant terrace. Average food, the lasagna was really disappointing. For 15 euros a plate, you'd expect better! The pint was better. It's still expensive for what it is!

22/07/2025: I have picked up the most delicious breakfast items and then focaccia and gnocchi for lunch/dinner almost every morning. The pastries are always fresh with original flavors. The gnocchi are some of the best we have had since arriving in Italy. The staff is lovely and helpful.

21/06/2025: A place you don't expect to find: the lady was very kind, friendly and nice, the muffins were very good, quality and certainly not industrial; and reasonable prices...if only there were more places like this...when you find something good it should be rewarded. 04/07/2025: Cenamos aquí esta noche y ¡nos encantó! Pedimos trucha ahumada que se derretía en la boca y tenía un sabor delicioso. Los ravioles de mantequilla y salvia estaban deliciosos, ¡la pizza incluso estaba buena! Mi marido pidió el filete y dijo que era el mejor que había probado en Italia. ¡Deberíamos haber reservado para poder conseguir un asiento con vistas!

02/07/2025: Hoy fue un día de navegar en ferry por el lago. Por la tarde tomé un ferry a Menaggio. Es una ciudad bonita y en mi caminata desde el embarcadero paré a tomar una cerveza en Dal Tato (la cerveza también venía con un acompañamiento de crutones de pan con ajo, ¡delicioso!). Luego continué hacia la ciudad para explorar, ya que quería cenar antes de regresar a Bellagio (donde me estoy hospedando), así que decidí regresar a Dal Tato. El camarero que me atendió antes me reconoció y me dijo: “¿otra cerveza?” Sonreí y pregunté si estaban sirviendo comida. Ellos eran. En lugar de sentarme en un pequeño patio al costado del camino donde me senté antes, me llevaron adentro a un hermoso comedor con vista al lago. Comí ravioles rellenos de queso bitto y bresaola, en mantequilla, con salvia y amaretto desmenuzado. Totalmente deliciosos y los recomiendo.

02/05/2025: Poche note perché di più non serve. Ristarante elegante sul lungolago. Cibo molto buono e presentato benissimo. Spettacolare il polpo su crema di zucca. Buona scelta di vini al calice. Il nostro era molto buono. Servizio attento ed anche una piccola svista si è trasformata in una occasione per fare una battuta divertente. Prezzi medi come si conviene ad un posto di qualità. Da consigliare.
