I'd like to start by saying that I booked lunch a few days in advance to make sure the place was warm enough, as one of the guests, who is over ninety, is extremely sensitive to the cold. I was reassured that a suitable table was available for this request. Well, this is how the work of the kitchen staff (truly delicious) and the waiting staff (attentive and attentive) was undermined. When we arrived, the table assigned to us was cold and without any alternatives. The entire place was simply cold, with no heating.
My experience and subsequent review are with the management.

24/02/2026: I don't understand what happened to this crotto... I was about to book a table but I see the menu has changed and the prices have doubled... but then what does sea bass or Angus have to do with Brunate in a Crotto?! Oh... I'm so sorry, you were my favorite.
22/01/2026: I'm in love with this place. Whether it's summer or winter, everything is beautiful. Located above Como, the view in summer and the hospitality are extraordinary. The route to get there is unique and characteristic. The dishes are all delicious, from the cured meats and cheeses to the various polentas. My favorite is the one with braised meat or mushrooms. The desserts are also excellent, and the staff is fantastic. The pizza is good. Thanks.

09/01/2026: I went to eat to test the quality for the wedding, and what can I say? Everything was perfect, from the excellent, melt-in-your-mouth food to the simple yet well-organized and attentive service. The place is wonderful, and the owners are fantastic.
The prices are fair, in my opinion, especially considering the quantity and quality. In short, we ate well, and a lot.
If you're in the area and want to eat well, I recommend coming to Croce di Malta.

I recommend it because it's homemade and the flavors are out of this world! There's a lot of it.

22/03/2026: I've been there several times and have always had a great time. The only downside is that you can't reserve a table, which can be a bit inconvenient if you're in a group. Luckily, I've always found a seat right away, often going as a couple or during the week.
The drinks are truly unique and very good.
When it's busy, your table can be held for about an hour after you order. Most cocktails cost around €10, while the more unusual ones are slightly more expensive.
01/03/2026: I've been coming here for many years and have always had a good experience, but last night I was disappointed because even though the place wasn't crowded, they served us very quickly. Five minutes after we sat down, the waitress came to our table to wait for us to order—not even enough time to read the entire menu. They told us the table was only supposed to be open for one hour because it was so busy, but even though there were free tables and no one waiting outside, while I still had a drink in my glass, they asked if they could take it away. I should point out that it hadn't even been an hour. I left more out of annoyance than anything else.

Highly recommended for exceptional ice creams and superb hot chocolates with whipped cream.

11/01/2026: Kind and polite staff, very welcoming and friendly. The coffee and ginseng are the best in Cantù, the ice cream is delicious, and the pastries are also delicious.
Clean and welcoming atmosphere. You feel right at home.
