17/02/2026: The food is very good, I went for the bourguignonne evening, as an entrée we were served a tartare, then a show of various types of different meats to cook each to your liking with a nice amount of sauces, and to finish a freshly baked apple pie, the wine of excellent quality and the location is refined... 13/06/2026: Today I had lunch and it was a unique experience for a Sicilian. It was beautiful also because I ate a really fresh octopus but above all good and it filled me up immediately😋 the service was very good also because the waiter Bill was always very helpful and punctual, very welcoming and professional staff and above all a very beautiful setting on the lake, especially on nice days, I really recommend you come and try to have a unique experience 😉

08/06/2026: This is my second time here, after the evening at La Scala, and it's always a wonderful experience. The staff is kind, smiling, professional, and attentive, right from the online reservation and email exchange. Even when the place is busy, they're always focused on the customer's well-being. The beer, paccheri alla Norma, and cotoletta alla Milanese were excellent. A special mention goes to the beautiful blonde woman who served us (I think she was from Eastern Europe), a rare beauty and great professionalism, and an equally positive mention goes to the young, charming, and attentive young man at the counter: unfortunately, I didn't ask his name. 10/01/2026: A simply delicious evening! We dined at this Chinese restaurant and were truly impressed by the quality of the dishes and the balance of flavors. The udon noodles, both shrimp and beef, were extraordinary: perfectly cooked noodles, fresh ingredients, and a rich but never heavy sauce. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, dry and flavorful, while the sweet and sour pork won us over with its perfect balance of sweet and sour, enveloping and authentic. You can sense great care in the preparation and a cuisine that focuses on quality, not just abundance. A place to return to without hesitation, ideal for those who love well-made Chinese cuisine. 07/05/2026: First of all, I give full marks because initiatives like these should always be supported. Cascina Gervasoni is a farmhouse that has undergone a conservative and authentic restoration. Few comforts but plenty of authenticity for a beautiful, clean yet rustic house in the woods. That said, it's a shared experience where you sit around a large table with other guests and eat natural, organic products. Unfortunately, the prices are completely out of line for a plate of pasta with butter and herbs and an egg omelette with water. Asking €30, or €35 for a dry grilled chicken breast at a shared table, in my opinion is way too much. With wine and a polenta to share, we came to €42 each. I understand that the home restaurant is more expensive, but let's be serious: preparing casoncelli with butter and sage and a pan-fried chicken breast doesn't require a Michelin-starred chef or a team of cooks. Of course, prices are displayed, and everything is transparent and fair, but reviews also serve as suggestions. More work needs to be done on the food side, both on the selection and the prices. The next day we left and at a trattoria on the road we ate tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and rabbit Bergamo-style with polenta and vegetables for €20, including wine. The message I got was this: organic is something I can't afford. And this, in my opinion, is counterproductive. That said, I hope the lovely and hospitable owners, who truly put so much heart and soul into it, don't be offended. I know you're not profiteering, but the business won't be able to reach its full potential if you don't address certain aspects. I hope these suggestions are appreciated and not seen as an attack.

The weekend at Max's was incredibly enjoyable, thanks to the serenity of the place and his wonderful company. The cuisine is simple and authentic, perfectly in keeping with the atmosphere of the place, so much appreciated. Thank you, Max, for welcoming us and sharing your story with us! 😊

12/05/2026: We were enticed here based on the menu advertised outside. However once seated we were told it was a different menu, which didn’t include many of the dishes we wanted. We should have left but decided to stay and order from the “inside” menu. Even then, some of the items we ordered were unavailable (potatoes, carrots!). The food we did eventually get was ok quality but small portion sizes and overpriced. Very disappointing, the worst meal we’ve had in Desenzano and also the most expensive. We were also overcharged on the final bill, although this was corrected when i pointed it out. Not recommended - lots of better options in Desenzano.

02/06/2026: We ate at Vento di Sardegna in Sesto San Giovanni on the day of our arrival. Since we were looking for a restaurant on the spur of the moment, we simply tried our luck without a reservation. We received a very warm welcome, and a table was quickly arranged for us. The service was incredibly attentive and friendly. The food was also excellent – ​​fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The price-performance ratio was also very good. Overall, a truly lovely evening and highly recommended!
