07/09/2025: SCAM, TOURIST TRAP! We ordered 4 little meatballs and one piece of veal and it cost $28 euros. I thought I was doing a good thing by ordering my son some meat for lunch and we got completely scammed. Ridiculous prices and they definitely took advantage of Canadian tourist.

25/06/2025: I regret not reading the reviews before going because I would have passed. €8 for a slice of frozen pizza with a thick crust, topped with cheese and a few dueling mushrooms. Even at Pizza Hut it would be better! The melon for dessert was bland.

01/09/2025: I visited this restaurant with a friend and had a very unpleasant experience. We wanted to order focaccia with mozzarella, but communication was extremely difficult because the waiter didn’t speak any English and we don’t speak Italian. Instead, we were served a dish with pork, even though we are both vegetarian and don’t eat meat. When we explained this, the waiter reacted very rudely and even somewhat aggressively, insisting that we had to pay for the dish. The plate wasn’t removed from the table, we didn’t touch it, and yet we still had to pay for it. We placed a new order, but the whole situation left us feeling very uncomfortable. On top of that, the food itself was disappointing: the bread was old and hard, and overall the quality was very poor. Unfortunately, this visit was extremely unpleasant, and we would not recommend this restaurant.

23/07/2025: I thought I'd enjoy a good Neapolitan shortcrust pastry after my coffee, but instead it was the worst I've ever had. The inside tasted like sour cheese. I mentioned the problem, and the cashier simply said it was impossible. A terrible response, not to mention the terrible dessert. I don't recommend it...

04/08/2025: I entered Caffè Vergnano with normal expectations, but from the first moment I was greeted rudely by the baristas: despite being one of the first customers of the morning, I received brusque responses and zero friendliness. Furthermore, the menu promised quality, but the croissant I received was lacking in cream, not fresh enough, and unappealing in appearance. The quality of the products is poor: the coffee has a bitter and unbalanced flavor, lacking the delicacy expected from a quality café; the dessert was dry and lacking in authentic flavor. Unlike many other locations where the brand is renowned for its quality blends, the experience here was far from what was advertised. Furthermore, I ordered a long coffee and it arrived with a ristretto. The service was also unpleasant: the baristas only talked among themselves, arguing, ignoring both requests and greetings. Ultimately, I strongly advise against it: a complete lack of customer service and below-average products.

09/05/2025: We were keen for a coffee. With a brusque manner, the barrista asked what we wanted. We occupied a vacant table and were served two coffees. Five euros. No receipt. Would suggest better and more reasonable prices elsewhere.

08/08/2025: A minha experiência não foi nada agradável. Primeiro porque em virtude de um mal entendido, mandaram nos subir ao andar de cima onde funcionava apenas o restaurante até que perceberam que só queríamos gelados e lá corrigiram a postura. Mandaram - nos escolher os sabores do gelado, mas não havia qualquer informação que indicasse o valor. Quando nos apercebemos do valor por 3 gelados em copo (12€ por gelado) já não havia nada a fazer. Vi risos entre os funcionários e percebi que estávamos a ser enganados, mas sob o olhar e conivência dos responsáveis. Penso que só cai quem quer, mas devia haver alguma regulação neste tipo de estabelecimento. Fica a nota se forem a Roma, não vão ao engano, procurem melhor se quiserem comer um gelatto, existem mais gelatarias na praça e por toda a cidade.

30/08/2025: The biggest restaurant we encountered in Rome. I don't usually complain about anything, but asking for the bill multiple times is a bit silly. Their terminal breaks down and they blame it on the customer, saying it's their fault and they should know what weak cards they're using. I don't recommend this place, and I'm not surprised they have 1.7 reviews. See you SOON!!!

29/07/2025: For the same price as a cappuccino and a croissant, you can spend two weeks in Ibiza. At the checkout, we were offered a menu with a cappuccino, freshly squeezed juice, and a croissant at a reasonable price. Initially, we just wanted the freshly squeezed juice and a cappuccino. The cashier later told us that if we ordered a croissant, it would be free. The offer didn't go through because the cappuccino was soy, and we were told it wasn't refundable. In the end, we took out a loan to pay for 2 bottles of water, a croissant, a cappuccino, and a freshly squeezed juice, a whopping €14.30.

11/06/2025: I find it unfair that the coffee granita is displayed in the ice cream section so that if you ask for it you have a surcharge and if you ask for cream on the granita the price increases even more.

20/05/2025: A coffee costs 1.30 euros, it's okay in a shopping centre, but... Coffee is NOT good at all and not even a glass of water!

23/07/2025: TOTAL SCAM. Just bought gelato for listed takeaway price of 5€. Ate inside and was charged 11.50€ for dining in...over twice the amount. I wasn't told the dine-in price nor was it listed. The gelato was okay. 1 star for withholding information only to gouge the customer when they're paying the bill on the way out.

22/07/2025: OVERPRICED CRAP, service was ok, but the found was very dry and tasteless. Nothing was fresh and all microwaved (they actually put some of the food in the microwave in front of us and said it was freshly made). The beer was overpriced at €9.50 each, which we didn't realise at the time. Would recommend everyone to avoid this place

20/07/2025: Don’t be fooled by a friendly waiter or should I say a smiling assassin! He kept adding suggestions to our choices as if they were free. I know in the cold light of day quite obvious, but in the moment we were fooled. €280 for 3 of us. Please don’t go to this restaurant when there are so many amazing places to eat in Rome.

18/07/2025: Total scam!.Waiter offered a sample platter of appetizers with our drinks. Instead he added two of most of the appetizers racking up almost 150 euro without our knowledge. Beyond that the prices are high. Sky high. What a way to end our trip. STAY AWAY!!!
