05/01/2026: Perhaps, as you read, Anthony Bourdain or other more or less well-known figures were there, and they evidently received service commensurate with their visibility. Some friends, ordinary citizens, and I had to wait over an hour and a half for two dishes...with a table service organization that I have no words to describe in its misery. Not to mention that the table was inadequate for the number of people, so the various small plates of the house appetizer, served all at once, had to be "temporarily parked" by some willing diner and, of course, eaten cold. I will add nothing more to this painful and unpleasant experience.

04/01/2026: Welcoming atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff. Delicious meatballs and orecchiette with tomato sauce. Excellent wine list.

03/01/2026: Lunch on January 1, 2026, deserves a mention in the black book. Tables weren't exactly clean, meals and prices weren't even close to passing.

03/01/2026: Unfortunately, it was a bad experience. The food wasn't up to par, the atmosphere was cold. Luckily, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The pizzas were served first to the children at our request.

24/02/2026: Lunch today was excellent, as always, at Osteria dei Briganti, in the heart of Gallipoli's historic center. A wide selection of the freshest fish, cooked according to Gallipoli's age-old tradition. A welcoming and relaxing atmosphere awaits you within the ancient tuff walls of this restaurant, a regular haunt of ours, where we've never been disappointed. The weighing of the fish is clear and communicated in advance. Today, we specifically enjoyed a white sea bream and roasted cuttlefish: a delight. Occasionally, cheerful voices could be heard from the kitchen staff, and this gave me a sense of the organizational atmosphere here. This isn't a quick-and-easy stop for unsuspecting tourists; it's a place where they serve the freshest fish that's hard to find. Fully satisfied and rewarded with the "divine love" desserts at the end of the meal. I had only heard of Chef Andrea, but today I clearly understood the reason for the unanimous high regard he has earned, well beyond Salento. Well done everyone. A very fair price, considering the quality. Highly recommended. AAA +++

17/02/2026: We had the pleasure of dining at Osteria Briganti one evening while on vacation in Gallipoli. Not much to say: excellent food, top-notch service, attentive customer service, and an elegant atmosphere at reasonable prices. The catch of the day was very much appreciated. We'll definitely be back.

18/09/2025: We came because the reviews were positive. But I don't understand why. The salad is almost entirely green salad and is served in a cardboard box... and for the octopus sandwich the bread was cold and not even toasted... it was bland. Poor value for money in my opinion.
