05/01/2025: Disappointment at Ostaria del Mare: when reviews are deceiving We had lunch today at the Ostaria del Mare in Cervia, attracted by the numerous positive reviews we had read on Google. Unfortunately, the experience was decidedly disappointing, far from expectations. We ordered three dishes: paccheri all'amatriciana, fish gnocchi and tufts of baby octopus with rocket and balsamic. What we expected was a lunch of fresh dishes, prepared with care, also given the fame of the place. What we received, however, left a lot to be desired. Let's start with the paccheri. Anyone who knows a little about cooking knows that paccheri require long cooking and often take a long time at the table. Instead, they were served to us in just a few minutes. Unfortunately, the reason immediately became clear: they were clearly heated in the microwave. The texture was overcooked, with the outer paccheri cold, as if they had just come out of the fridge, while those in the center were piping hot. An unmistakable result of a dish put back in the microwave as best as possible. The fish dumplings, although less problematic, were anonymous, with a flavor that left no trace. You expect to find dishes like this in a low-level canteen, not in a restaurant promoted as excellent in the area. At the end of the meal we were served three tastings of desserts, included in the cover charge (as they told us when ordering). I prefer not to comment on them: they were really disappointing, so much so that we left them there. And then, the wine. This is also included in the cover charge. It could be drawn directly from a tap, probably connected to a Tavernello barrel or something similar. But why?! What's the point? The idea of ​​having to get up to pour myself a glass of mediocre wine from a vending machine is anything but an added bonus. Honestly, I didn't find this €3.50 cover charge with "dessert and wine included" to be a real gift. The impression was rather that of paying, once again, for a dish that would have been more appropriate to send back to the kitchen. The overall experience left a bad taste in our mouths, both for the disappointing food and for the general impression of a place that shatters all expectations. Unfortunately, I don't think we will give Ostaria del Mare a second chance. If you are looking for a quality lunch, better look elsewhere.

20/10/2024: I no longer call back once the pizza arrives... but even on site the story is the same, out of 20 pizzas 16 wrong pizzas, there's no way... for 3 years now, during the working season, many of us have often relied on this pizzeria, but it's not possible that they get the pizzas wrong every time, it can happen once twice... but the thing repeats itself many, many times. I don't understand if it's an ordering problem or whoever makes the pizza doesn't read the order well. I'm sorry because the pizza is good but we pay for it so we would like to have it as we wish! Well personally I won't be attending anymore.

30/11/2024: Let me start by saying that I came here 30 years ago and therefore every now and then the stop is a must, the food is excellent, the bruschettas are the best, the sandwiches don't inspire me because there is too much bread, too much crumb, I would like the crunchy ciabatta better, however, taking this away the everything else is perfect, beer is available and there is also a gluten-free menu. Right time service. You pay when they bring your stuff and I think that's fair. Friendly waitresses
