15/08/2025: We went for lunch on August 15th, and my review is positive in every way. Excellent food, generous portions, courteous and professional staff. Recommended, we'll be back for a weekend given the possibility of staying overnight.

09/08/2025: The hotel is in its original state, but the staff is charming, especially the owner, who is very helpful and answers all our questions. If you're looking for a quiet place with stunning views and beautiful hikes, you've come to the right place. You'll also eat very well: homemade cuisine and a hearty, generous, varied, and very good breakfast. We recommend it for these reasons.

15/08/2025: I choose to believe that this was a bad day for them. We arrived, after a long wait they threw us the menu without even looking to us. 15 min waiting and nothing happened…. No water, no bread, no “what do u want to order”, nothing. Any attempt to interact with the staff was ignored. We were “transparent” for the service even though we were sited in the middle of the main room. We decided to leave not before providing the feedback in a gentle manner. They chose to suggest us to go for a pizza. Rude (or sarcastic) manager. Indeed we went to a pizza place right after and the service, food and ambience was the well know good Italian vibe.

13/08/2025: Thank Mom and Dad for keeping the tradition of warm hospitality, service, and friendliness alive. The food doesn't live up to expectations and, unfortunately, is rather ordinary in quality and preparation.

10/08/2025: There were four of us: some very good dishes. Some things to keep in mind: poor organization (is the family-run business partly to blame?); the Valdostan soup here is prepared without cabbage. I ordered a Valdostan-style rib steak: it's not specified that the size of the rib steak can vary greatly (but the price doesn't). Always ask: you risk overpaying for a dish or wasting food.

17/04/2025: The best pastiera I have ever eaten is theirs, the grocery store near my house in Lombardy orders all kinds of cakes from them which promptly sell out, I had already tried several tarts, all delicious but I missed the pastiera, exceptional.... congratulations from Lombardy!

14/08/2025: My husband said the appetizer and main course were good. I didn't get asked what dough I wanted for the pizza; other tables did. They don't take away empty plates...you have to ask. The beers and water arrived after I asked three times. I couldn't see the inside of the restaurant; dogs aren't allowed. I wouldn't recommend it.

07/08/2025: Excellent restaurant, including the magnificent mountain view from the outdoor garden. My grandfather dined here in 1969 and was very pleased. We can't help but agree!

06/08/2025: Characteristic atmosphere, excellent food with perfect flavor combinations and well presented on the plate. Trained, attentive and kind staff. The only flaw is not being able to choose just one fixed menu per table.

11/08/2025: Extremely disappointing stay and worrying lack of security and respect I stayed at this hotel hoping to have a pleasant stay, but the experience turned into a nightmare. During my absence, I had the very unpleasant surprise of discovering that my luggage had been searched. The arrangement of my belongings had clearly been altered, and some personal belongings had been moved. This type of situation is deeply shocking and unacceptable, especially in a hotel that is supposed to offer comfort and security to its guests. When I reported the problem to the reception desk, the staff's reaction was more than disappointing. No clear explanation was given, and management didn't seem to take the situation seriously. Instead of trying to understand or reassure me, I felt as if my words were being minimized, or even doubted. This lack of professionalism is unworthy of a hotel that claims to welcome its guests in good conditions. A hotel isn't just a place to sleep; it's also a place where you should be able to leave your belongings in peace. Here, trust was completely broken. I felt unsafe for the rest of my stay, forced to guard my personal belongings and fearing for their safety. This ruined my trip and prevented me from enjoying my time there. In summary, I strongly advise against this establishment to anyone who values privacy, the security of their belongings, and a minimum of consideration from the staff. There are many other hotels that, for the same price or less, will treat their guests with honesty, professionalism, and respect. For my part, this is the last time I'll set foot here.

30/07/2025: Excellent location overlooking the valley and the Gran Paradiso glacier. The hotel is historic but somewhat rundown (old, faded furniture in the rooms and worn leather armchairs). I expected better for a hotel costing nearly €500 a day for a B&B. The service is good but not 5-star, with several shortcomings (the breakfast table was left with dirty papers and dishes while I was still there). Parking is cramped and not enough for all guests. There are four good restaurants, but some are overpriced. It gets a minimum rating primarily due to its location.

29/08/2025: Let's start on the positive note because there will be a list of negatives later. I went with a friend and my dog. The location was nice and very quiet, but otherwise it was squalid. We asked if there was room for two and a dog. I should start by saying that I have an English pointer who doesn't even know what meanness is. He's been properly trained, and every time we eat, he sits close to my leg and doesn't move. They told us that they have two tables off to the side for dogs, away from the others, and that if they wanted to eat there, the dog had to stay still under the table. Being good and well-behaved, he sat there the whole time. Next to him, there was a rusty iron grate that protruded because it wasn't secured properly. Not to mention that there was a dog, but even a normal person could easily have touched it with their leg and hurt themselves. The food was edible, but it arrived cold and in meager portions. Two plates of pasta with sausage and a water cost €33. We'll never go back! I strongly advise against it, especially not at all polite and kind

26/08/2025: My family and I went to eat at this inn after visiting the fort and the village of Bard. Even though it was well past lunchtime, we were greeted and served very kindly. Typical dishes, gnocchi with wild boar ragù, carbonada with polenta and Valdostana cheese, house wine—all delicious. Fast service and excellent prices for the quality of the food. I recommend it.

03/08/2025: Dinner on the go... Nice place with a large terrace. The pizza is not bad, very thin and made with typical Aosta Valley products. Prices are perhaps a little higher than average.

01/08/2025: Terrible restaurant! We ordered the dishes from the kitchen: the tagliolini and agnolotti were drowned in cream. The Valdostana was like a slab and the sauce was soaked in wine. The apple fritters on bread and lard croutons tasted horrible.
