Osteria del Frero In Donnas

I went for dinner with some friends during the week and we had a great time. The menu is excellent, the portions are really large, and between the location and the service, you feel like you're at a friend's house. The quality (and quantity)-price ratio is definitely excellent. Recommended!

A good trattoria serving Aosta Valley cuisine. Reservations are highly recommended. As the owner and chef warn over the phone, this isn't the place for you if you're in a hurry. The wait times can be a bit long, as the chef also serves as waiter and cashier. Overall, a positive experience.

We stopped for lunch and it was a pleasant discovery. The owner is both a chef, waiter, and bartender, and if you get along well, the experience will be truly remarkable. The food is truly high quality and the prices are more than fair.

A comprehensive experience, with a distinctive menu, both traditional and non-traditional, revisited with inventiveness, grace, and balance—I would say harmonious.

Magnificent experience! The strawberry risotto was out of this world

Lured by the excellent reviews, we decided to give it a try. It's a classic village osteria. The place looks a bit run-down; it's very hot inside (in summer), and you have to fight off insects outside. The chef's skill and dedication are clearly evident, but it's overshadowed by the execution: tough and salty grilled vegetables, overly peppery risotto, and a very salty, almost inedible tagliata steak. The service was very friendly and quick. The prices, overall, aren't high, but it's not worth it, at least not with the dinner we were served.

We stopped by chance at Osteria del Frero. We ate very well. There's a caveat; which is also a useful distinguishing feature for appreciating the place: you shouldn't rush. Congratulations, Fabio, you treated us well.

I booked for a business dinner, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The restaurant is quiet, with outdoor seating in a relaxing, green courtyard. The dishes were all delicious: I recommend the shrimp and asparagus risotto, the trout fillet, and the peach cremino. The portions are generous, and the value is excellent. The wine selection is also truly worth it. Thank you, Fabio, for making the evening perfect. It's not the first time I've booked here, and I already knew I'd made the right choice. ☺️See you soon!

What can I say about this trattoria? Top! We ate wonderfully, fresh ingredients cooked to perfection! It's a small but welcoming place, and the kindness of the chef/owner and the waitress/daughter absolutely makes the difference. We had a tartare split between two people—one a first course and the other a second course—a dessert, water, half a liter of wine, and a cover charge of €60! The portions are good for two! But at the same time, nothing too heavy. If I were to return to the area, I would definitely return!

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious; the chef catered to every need, preparing exquisite dishes. I recommend making a reservation as seating is limited.
