I thank the owner, Vito, for the welcome and the kindness of the staff. I had a truly wonderful meal, excellent food prepared with dedication and professionalism in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the heart of Lucca's historic center. I highly recommend this restaurant.

A beautiful, time-honored osteria in the heart of Lucca: its first highlight is undoubtedly the intimate, cozy atmosphere, set in an ancient courtyard, as well as the indoor seating. The second highlight is the music, of high quality and culture, which provides a warm and welcoming backdrop to your time here (primarily singer-songwriter and jazz, followed by a pleasant conversation with the owner, a true expert on the subject). Only for the last course, or rather, the last "course," the "main course," will I mention the food, as many patrons have already rightly raved about it. We ate excellent tordelli, Lucca's signature dish, with ragù, but I also saw other delicious pasta, meat, and even fish dishes on other patrons' plates. The price is absolutely reasonable. I will gladly return, should I ever visit Lucca again infrequently.

Historic restaurant in the heart of Lucca, with a warm, elegant, and personal atmosphere. Very friendly and professional staff. We had lunch from the à la carte menu and chose all seafood. Recommended.

We dined here last night. The service was friendly, attentive, and very customer-focused from the start. The dishes were not only meticulously prepared, but also delicious (the triple-cooked pigeon, which I'd never eaten before, was a pleasant surprise for me). In addition to the main dining room, they also have other rooms that offer more privacy, and an outdoor space for the summer. They were very kind in showing us the wine cellar. Overall, an excellent experience.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years, and it's always a great experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing, ideal for a quiet lunch without the hustle and bustle. The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel immediately at ease. The traditional dishes, revisited with originality, are excellent, always carefully prepared and of the highest quality. A guarantee!

A five-star dinner, from the entrée to the homemade dessert, everything was exquisite. The duck ravioli were delicious, and the duck cheek was so tender it tasted like butter. Elegant location and attentive, friendly service. Nothing to add, except that we'll definitely be back!

It's always a delightful experience to dine at the Antica Locanda dell'Angelo; not only for the dishes (the pork cheek and tagliatelle with truffle, for example) perfectly prepared by the chef; not only for the elegant and friendly service; but above all for the relaxed and quiet atmosphere, which is hard to find nowadays! 15/04/2026: A lot of people had been mentioning this place to me for a while, and finally, for Easter Monday, we went up that road, we never got there, and then we were hungry, and well, I'll tell you what. The place was full, and only our table was left. There were seven of us. We ordered appetizers, first courses, and then second courses. I have to say, everything was delicious, especially the mushrooms, which were presented in various ways. I'm not a fan, but for this occasion, I even went out of my way to choose a second course with mushrooms over truffle. Even the 6 tagliolini with truffle that my daughter had left over because they were so generous were good, too. All the diners were unanimous in their praise of the place and the chef. The service, despite the crowd, was also quick and friendly. Whether you happen upon it or hear about it, it's worth stopping for a meal. I recommend it.
11/04/2026: Excellent place, tried for lunch with two other bikers. The quality of the hot mushroom and polenta appetizers was excellent. The tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms was equally as good. The courtesy and kindness of the hosts was remarkable, and finally, the price was reasonable for the meal. We'll definitely return.
