12/07/2025: The food had a bad taste. We had a roll and the fish seemed to be expired. I'm really sorry for the experience. The restaurant was good but the fish wasn't fresh.

17/06/2025: I don't usually leave bad reviews, but I was quite disappointed with this place. Unfortunately, the fish wasn't very fresh and the ravioli didn't look or taste very inviting either. The fried sushi wasn't bad. It can be improved.

26/07/2025: Very nice atmosphere and food. Very welcoming host. It would have been 5 stars but the fact that you get your dinner with no menu or prices is a bit of a problem.

26/06/2025: Review is about the dinner - didn’t stay at the B&B. First of all it’s CASH ONLY. Just a fyi. Basically they will serve you various courses for about 40€ a head. All the food was clearly fresh and excellently prepared. We had various appetizers, 4 different pastas, 3 different meats and two different desserts

15/07/2025: Posto bellissimo Cinque stelle, del cibo molto buono e anche il bere. Siamo andati via in fretta, non perché ci fosse qualcosa che non andava, ma soltanto perché i nostri cani piangevano. Bravissimi 🤩😊

19/06/2025: Restaurant atypique à découvrir avec une très bonne qualité de plats typiques toscans mais aussi d’autres régions italiennes . La patronne très accueillante et jonglant aussi bien avec l’italien que l allemand ou le français , il n’y avait pas d’anglais ce soir là … Le service est impeccable . Je recommande avec une mention particulière pour une belle découverte vinicole au travers d’un rosé d’un producteur local ( Scarlino) Le Carpiana .

01/07/2025: I live in Lucca and before I never ate sushi anywhere, since I discovered kooka I loved it! Even take a way the taste is always excellent. The fish is quality, always fresh and the combinations are fantastic. The staff is always kind and helpful! The best in the province ♥️

07/09/2025: I'm sad to write this review because I came here a few years ago and had a particularly good time. Coming here for dinner, you feel the warmth of the people, a family atmosphere with a delightful owner... an adjective that can't be used for the food: the octopus appetizer was overcooked, the seafood first courses as well (with flavors ranging from neutral to bland), and the fried food tasted like little to nothing. The staff is welcoming, but last night we noticed a bit of superficiality in the service.

26/08/2025: Excellent food and a pleasant, refined atmosphere. It's a shame that the waitress was rude from the very beginning of the evening, when she invited us to sit down because "it was already ten o'clock (this was at 9:40 PM with a 9:30 PM reservation)." The various lapses in style and lack of politeness and professionalism continued right up until dessert. It's a shame; a beautiful place and excellent food were served without a smile. If I were sure of finding another waitress, I would gladly return.

Carlo and his team are super friendly, knowledgeable, and you can see that they truly care about offering the most authentic dining experience one would expect while in their beautiful city. There is a reason the locals dine here. Don’t miss it!

18/08/2025: The exterior doesn't appear inviting, as the restaurant is located on the ground floor of a standard house and isn't very visible from the main road unless you're familiar with the area. Since I was there in August, I didn't see the interior, but the exterior is similar to what was described above; the tables are set out in front of the house under umbrellas. But don't be fooled by the "spartan" location; everything we ordered was excellent, especially the grilled squid, which was exceptional. The service was good, with reasonable wait times and a friendly staff. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again.

13/08/2025: Great restaurant right off the regional restaurant. Dinner hours are busy so reservations are recommended. Good wine and beer menu to go with meals from fresh ingredients.

14/06/2025: Informal but easy-going service, we had a good time. Really nice location especially when the summer darkness starts to come and that wonderful breeze comes. Super thin pizzas but with excellent ingredients. I recommend if you are in the area.
