26/10/2025: At Michele's restaurant, everything is in its place, and even my dog, who arrived unannounced, found a friendly place. I had a mouth-watering fried juvenile fish platter, followed by a homemade taglierini pasta with amberjack and bottarga. The stuffed zucchini flowers and the grouper steak were also beautiful. A chestnut flan with goat's ricotta mousse rounded out the evening. The price is in line with the food and service. Would you want to spend 50-60 for a dinner like this if a pizzeria costs at least 25? Highly recommended.
21/09/2025: Impeccable service, clean atmosphere, and consistently top-notch food and wine list. From appetizers to dessert, this place never disappoints. I should add that we have a celiac in my family, but they are attentive and knowledgeable both in the kitchen and in the dining room. Highly recommended!

As soon as we entered, we were greeted with a genuine smile and a rare level of helpfulness: the staff is always attentive, kind, and ready to satisfy every request with professionalism and warmth. The atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant, perfect for both a family dinner and an evening with friends. The pizzas are truly exceptional: light and digestible dough, fresh and high-quality ingredients, generous and flavorful toppings. The other dishes on the menu also deserve a special mention: everything is prepared with care and passion, and it shows. A place where you feel welcomed like at home, but with the quality of impeccable cuisine. Highly recommended for those who love eating well and enjoying a pleasant experience from start to finish!

15/09/2025: The hospitality and food were truly perfect for a completely relaxing evening! The menu was extensive and had plenty of options for celiacs like me, including desserts. The staff were friendly and helpful; we immediately let them know we had a large dog, and they let us park right in front of the restaurant for convenience. This will definitely be a place we'll return to.

11/11/2025: While strolling through Pienza, after exploring its charming narrow streets on foot, we came across La Terrazza. We went in and were immediately greeted with friendliness and kindness. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated at a table in the garden, which quickly filled with more people. For starters, we had slices of various toasted breads, accompanied by spectacular olive oil. For lunch, we ordered a mix of short pastas with pecorino and pesto and a Pici with zucchini. To accompany it, we had the Nobile di Montepulciano red wine. Cantucci con Vin Santo for dessert and an espresso to finish perfectly. We loved our lunch, under that parasol, in that beautiful garden, in the Pienza of dreams. Impeccable service, courteous attention, we highly recommend it.

05/08/2025: Overall, I had a good time at this place. It's definitely a pub for young people rather than older people like me. However, the staff was friendly and helpful. The interior is very British, with small tables, bench seating, soft lighting, and background music. The menu focuses almost exclusively on pizzas. I must say, they're good, affordable, and served on wooden boards. They're more reminiscent of Roman pinsa than actual pizza. The way you choose the right one is very clever. You choose whether to start with a margherita base (€6) or a white one (€5), and if you like, you can customize it with one or more additional toppings (there's a long list of tasty options) for just €1 each! Well done!

L'ottavo Vizio - Street Food / Food Porn Gourmet

16/09/2025: It has "Gourmet Street Food" in its name. It has nothing to do with gourmet. I had a "Würstel" (sausage). The dish could more accurately be described as a "Wiener in a dressing gown." Unfortunately, the dish was burnt. Something like that would have to be returned. The 0.3-liter beer cost 6 euros. Good restaurants are often cheaper. So, stay away.
07/09/2025: First time. Tiny takeout shop with a fabulous menu: incredibly original and delicious sandwiches. We tried the Vizio Gola with Chianina tuna, and Ira with zucchini flowers and orange zest, and... we decided to return to try the others. The owner is friendly and very kind. The Avarizia sandwich is brilliant: just bread (which is actually focaccia bread) with nothing inside, obviously extremely cheap! 😁. September 2025: Four years have passed, and we've been back every year (every time we pass through Viareggio), and it has never disappointed us. We'd tried almost all the "Vizi" (and a few small dishes), but never the Ottavo. So this time we try it: you think it's a normal burger, but you immediately realize it's not... Chianina beef burger, salad and cherry tomatoes, thin caciobuffalo cheese, magnificent caramelized Tropea onions, a little bell pepper, and... crispy pancetta, all in "their" special, delicious bread. And nothing... we even "dipped" the sauce left on the menu. Don't be scared by the price, it's worth it! The quality is excellent, the atmosphere small but welcoming, and the owner, Marco, is friendly and very helpful. And if you have to wait... just wait, you won't regret it. P.S. I'm not his sister! 😉

07/10/2025: A modern, well-kept, and welcoming restaurant. The staff is truly friendly and helpful, one of the best aspects of the experience. The menu is traditional with a few creative touches. I tried the tomato salad with tomato sorbet, an original and successful dish, with a fresh and pleasant flavor. The cold beans, however, were less successful, with a bitter taste and poor balance. My companion had a yellowtail fillet, which was average, while the pasta with fresh porcini mushrooms was good but a bit too "strained." Overall, a decent but unmemorable dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service impeccable, but the cuisine doesn't quite reach the same level. The bill, around €60 per person for an appetizer, a first course, and two glasses of wine, seemed excessive for an osteria of this type. In summary: a nice restaurant and excellent staff, but not a convincing value for money.

28/10/2025: My husband and I were in Florence for our anniversary and were lucky enough to obtain a lunch reservation at Saporium. Given the intimate nature of the seating, it seems the dinner reservations would go quickly. The atmosphere and staff are incredible. The pride they have in what they do can be seen in every careful and thoughtful action and interaction with each guest. The decor is relaxing and serene, as if in the garden the delicious meals are being prepared from. Everyone was incredibly attentive and the pace of meal was completely on point. We have been to Michelin star restaurants across the US and Italy, I have to say I was shocked that they don’t have more Michelin stars with how delectable the food is. Saporium is only rivaled in my opinion by Eric Ripert’s La Bernardin. We tried the chefs tasting menu, which was a cross amongst their other tasting menu options. Every course was as delicious as the last, not one of our ten courses disappointed. The flavors were perfectly harmonized and danced across our taste buds with every new bite. We could have stayed for hours, continuing to be treated to this culinary gift. We will be back to Florence and most certainly back to Saporium Firenze as we cannot wait to try a dinner service!
22/10/2025: Wife and I came here while in Florence for a week and this was by far the worst meal I had. We pad 660 euro for the 10 course tasting menu and annoyingly was pitched an upgrade for caviar which happen to be the best part of the meal. To start we walk in and the host who barely could hear as he whispered sat us at our table. We then sat there for about 5 mins then they ask us to go to the bar which you have to go outside and in another door to get 3 drinks that were mediocre at best. Finally after sweating at the bar lounge that take us back outside and sit us at our table again. Then proceeded to sale pitch us caviar which I expected to be apart of the experience at 215 per person. We agree without regret as it was the what part of this experience.we even meet the Chef and he was there for the first dish to come out. The entire meal we were literally sweating because the restaurant was so hot that we were using our water glasses to cool us down . We then get served our first dish. Was a solid 7.5 out 10. Well following that not a single thing was good. Literally every dish was disappointing and nothing went together. We couldn’t hear a single thing they told us about the dishes so after 3 dishes and asking them to repeat themselves we gave up and just took it as is. The waiters literally whispered to you . They were all nice and polite but it drove us crazy. So anyways we keep getting dishes and nit a single thing was what you expected from a Michelin star restaurant. One dish still stands out and not in a good way it was 3 pastas with a mussel on top of each. Absolutely terrible. The mussels were dry and rubbery. I couldn’t even eat em. I spit the one I ate out and let the servers take it. When I told em how I felt they argued and seemed annoyed . And my wife felt exactly the same about the dish . 0-10. Got few more dishes that I can’t remember that’s how little awe they gave to arrive to the final dish. A horrible cut of steak that had fat that wasn’t edible on it and no flavor. Was extremely chewy. Not what you’d expect. We didn’t finish this dish either . The entire experience was such a let down as this was our fist Michelin star dinner and nothing was good. The united flights food stood out more than any dish we received. My wife emailed them and pretty much was told that our opinion doesn’t matter. I won’t ever recommend a single person here and would love to be refunded if possible. This was the worst food we had in our entire 9 days in Italy without a doubt . The restaurant was beautiful and being able to watch the cooks was awesome but the food itself was the biggest let down I’ve ever experienced in a high quality restaurant.
