13/05/2026: An ancient restaurant with an old-world warmth.
It's a shame about the appetizer, which I think is too "touristy" (the only other item, however, is that someone told me there was a table with pickles and other vegetables I could help myself to, but I didn't see it during lunch, and the waiters didn't even point it out to me).
On the other hand, the first and second courses were truly excellent, with excellent wild boar ragi and a truly tender and juicy steak. Perhaps my advice would be to serve it separately and bring the grill, because if you eat it slowly, you either remove it all immediately or the last bites will be overcooked and stringy.
24/04/2026: This is the fourth or fifth time we've eaten at Torretta, and I can say that the food is good and the place is welcoming. Unfortunately, this time the review has to be less positive.
The service leaves much to be desired: the waiter (I don't know if he's part of the ownership) seems tired even before starting and gives the impression of doing customers a favor by seating them. Furthermore, he exhibits unprofessional behavior, such as constantly touching his pants... and I'll stop there!!! This is definitely not pleasant.
I have nothing to say about the rest of the staff, who appear to be hardworking.
The food at Torretta is good, but the service needs improvement. Parking is about a 5-minute walk away.

06/09/2025: I agree that the pizza dough lacked salt, and so did the tomato sauce. The dough was also a little too chewy.
30/08/2025: Stunning location, a charming terrace with stunning lighting. Top service, as the waiters were very helpful, friendly, and quick. The food was decent—we had delicious octopus meatballs, but the pizza was a bit salty. A bit bland. Overall, I'd give it a 6/10.

02/04/2026: The atmosphere is neglected, which is a real shame because the location itself is beautiful and could be very refined if it were taken care of.
The food is neither good nor bad, with limited choice and basic items for the high price.

03/03/2026: There's no menu to look at prices and meat types, or at least I wasn't provided with one.
The meat was good, and the fries are actually crispy chips (I personally prefer the classic fried ones).
The caramelized onion bombettes were very tasty and delicious.
I expected to pay €20 less, which I'd say is quite high.
Come try the Argentine Angus and let me know.
11/01/2026: Visited on a Saturday after two holidays, there wasn't a wide selection of meats. Perhaps it's better to only offer salt on sausages if you request it!

01/06/2026: It could have been beautiful, but it was loud, dirty, with the smell of fire from surrounding fires, nobody was putting them out, and nobody cared!
01/06/2026: A very nice campsite, located in the middle of nowhere, with clean sanitary facilities in the off-season, spacious pitches, a large pool and separate children's pool, sun loungers (for a fee), direct access to a sandy beach, a beach bar with lunch service, a playground, a dog run, and a restaurant with a separate area for dog owners (unfortunately, it doesn't open until 7:30 pm). Prices are reasonable. Overall, a nice site. Drawbacks include the extra charge for sun loungers at the pool and beach, guests' dogs on the beach (even on and between the loungers), and loud music with bass thumping from the neighboring campsite (Club Futura) starting around 9 pm.

03/09/2025: Delicious pizza: light, tasty, and well-topped. The pizza chef who bakes the pizzas in his traditional Ape car is incredibly friendly!
We also tried the excellent fried pizza with delicious and delicious fillings and the brand new patatruk!
Very fair prices and definitely lower than the average restaurant!
We'll definitely be back! Well done 👏🏻💪🏻😋

03/10/2025: I've been frequenting Salento for years, and the Cutty Sark kiosk is a must-see...on clear days, you can see the mountains beyond a heavenly sea, the view of Castro is priceless, you turn your gaze and see an old ruined tower...the pungent aromas inebriate the mind, and you're immersed in epic tales. The owner is always available and smiling, ready to pick up all the rubbish that too many rude tourists leave abandoned or insistently push into already overflowing bins...and I'm sad to read certain reviews where someone is wishing someone would fail for a few pennies!!!
Dear Lord...the worst robbery is the time wasted writing it...the peace and beauty of that place are worthless.
03/09/2025: Returning to the kiosk is always a pleasure, a swim in the turquoise sea and ending with an excellent breakfast prepared by the friendly Virgilio is for us the best way to start the day!

19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.
13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate.
We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip.
The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer.
If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

The atmosphere is truly friendly, and as people leave their tables, they greet other diners, who are of all ages and both two- and four-legged.

19/03/2026: When a traveler (tinker in 🇮🇪, zingara in 🇮🇹) was hungry at 1:30am and lost in Lecce, the sign of the lit my way and offered me not only gracious hospitality, but a near perfect mix on a wet cold night…a pint of guiness, an Italian panino, and a chance to warm up and share a story or two. Folks, you won’t find a kinder place in Lecce. Bring a small gift and tell them Tomás sent you. You’ll thank me, as I thank them 💚
