Arriving in Lecce early in the morning, the first stop has to be breakfast. Caffetteria Citiso offers a varied selection of pastries. However, to start off properly, we can't ignore a pasticciotto. Don't just ask for a "classic" one. In Lecce, the "classic" is just cream; in Taranto, the "classic" is cream and black cherry. Or maybe not! To avoid making a mistake, choose carefully so you don't get embroiled in a pastry-related dispute. Excellent, always, without a doubt. The price is good, €1.60. Just ten cents more than an espresso and twenty cents less than a cappuccino.

Smiles and courtesy, as well as the quality of the products, make this pastry shop a more than valid reference point. With or without cream, they are all delicious products, from cream puffs to dry pasta.

10/04/2026: Nice coffee shop, perfect for a tourist, especially in a rainy day, but not only... Right in the center of Gallipoli. Grazie.
08/04/2026: We had the Spumone, a typical Salento dish. It's delicious; not everywhere is it this good and plentiful. Plus, the lady at the cash register, I assume the owner, is really kind. Plus, the bar is located on Gallipoli's historic island, and you can sit outside on the pedestrian promenade. It was Easter weekend, so the tourist season is just beginning.

25/08/2025: I'd like to sincerely thank the owners and all the staff at Agriturismo Santa Chiara. They were always kind and helpful, ready to help us or check in. They offered us a beautiful room overlooking the pool. The included breakfast was delicious, with a nice mix of sweet and savory. Sometimes the lady cooks for guests, and I must say she's truly excellent. I absolutely recommend staying there for dinner, as it was a delicious and warm experience. The agriturismo is large and welcoming, perfect for taking photos or reading a book while relaxing in the sun by the pool. I found a bit of my hometown in them, as they are family-like, kind, and welcoming—just what I was looking for in southern Italy. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, safe, and welcoming place.
