08/05/2025: The spritz was good but be careful THIEVES....it looks more like a bar than anything else outside...34€ for 4 Spritz 🤑🤑🤑. 1.5 € to serve a drink!!!!!

16/04/2025: Well... I could have done it better at home. The orecchiette were served cold with diced tomatoes and mozzarella on top, all tossed in oil. When I wanted to return it, I was told that it would be eaten cold. There is only 1 star for that alone. I may be a tourist, but I'm not stupid.

25/04/2025: Fantastic restaurant. The Spaghetto Benedetto is great, a must try. We had the Tiramisu, and it was the best we have tried on our trip. My wife loves Tiramisu, and we have tried many on the trip. I had the pound cake with mascarpone and olive oil. It was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Simple and delicious. The building is beautiful and worth a visit on its own. We met the chef, a great guy who loves Puglia and made recommendations for other quality restaurants we need to try as we visit the area.

10/03/2025: Nice experience, comfortable place that makes you relive the context of the houses of the past, the classic grandmother's houses with various tools of the time. Excellent quality of the raw materials and well-composed dishes, the staff very professional and attentive. The only thing was that they were out of bubbles and chocolate for the rum. Things that can easily be resolved but are fundamental for a demanding person like me. I will definitely return to try other dishes that intrigue me.

26/04/2025: Full evening due to a live event. The staff had to manage two rooms and since they were few, there were VERY LONG DELAYS of over an hour. After the waiter insisted that our dishes would be ready in 10 minutes or less, we got our drinks after 20 minutes on the clock. The times we report to you were measured with the timer because the safety of those 10 minutes of waiting made us laugh, but we never expected a delay of more than an hour. If you don't have a kitchen or the human material to manage these orders then you say that you are full and not that when I book you make me come to waste time. This is a lack of respect for the customers and those 3 people who had to manage everything: serving, taking orders, cleaning and making cash. Let them get paid decently! We will never get this lost time back anyway. And we even paid you. As for the environment: the interior is illuminated with green lights which give an alienating, almost nauseating sensation. I recommend a warm light. You can also find scientific research online on how light is extremely important for establishing the mood and making your customers feel better. Outside our table was broken. It had a hole in the edge. The cutlery is also made of plastic, but that's fine. Futility. However, let's hope we never have to come again.

01/10/2024: Last day in Italy, end of September 2024. Lovely beach and thought we would eat fresh fish. Had to take a photo of the menu, then enter personal details (??) and order. No, only plated dishes were still available. Fifteen minutes later now. Ambitions completely adjusted and ordered 2 simple dishes. Was okay. Pay at the bar, but there is a line of 4 for ice cream, coffee, etc. Bill after 10 minutes of waiting. Three wrongs. In short, how should this be done in high season? 🙈

30/09/2024: If only we could give a sixth star!!! for this sensational discovery I would put it firmly! Arriving by chance yesterday in the early afternoon for a little something to drink...and then seeing the wonderful dishes cooked by this BRAVIOUS Chef we stopped for lunch...Very kind, patient, polite and very fast staff!! Exceptional dishes!!!! I've never eaten so well (yet I'm a foodie and travel around Puglia far and wide...) What can I say...WHO LEAVES YOU ANYMORE!!!! 08/02/2025: Cena tutto sommato niente male ma nel momento del pagamento la signora dietro la cassa ha fatto la “furbetta” Vado a pagare con carta American Express e in un primo momento mi dice che il locale non la accetta, io le faccio presente che sulla mappa American Express il locale in questione risulta accettatore di carte American Express e magicamente lei mi dice che c’è un altro pos a sua disposizione ma che purtroppo non avendo fatto nessuna transazione quella sera con questi tipi di carta mi ha quasi costretto a pagare con un’altra carta che non fosse American Express, quindi hanno fatto i furbetti, se mi offri un servizio lo devi rispettare altrimenti non lo offrire proprio che fai più bella figura Con questa furbata dopo che ci sono stato diverse volte in questo locale ovviamente non mi vedranno mai più proprio perché mi hanno preso in giro

08/02/2025: Il locale è accogliente il personale gentile ma poco attento. Abbiamo ordinato un gelato per celiaci e il camerieri nel servizio non era certo che lo fosse. È stato sostituito immediatamente ma forse non hanno compreso il disagio e la preoccupazione dell'ospite celiaca. Abbiamo mangiato dei primi discreti forse avremmo fatto meglio a mangiare la pizza che sembrava molto buona

Dopo 20 giorni di permanenza in Salento e innumerevoli ristoranti sperimentati, di varie categorie, ritengo molto favorevole il rapporto qualità prezzo de “La Lanterna”. Consigliatissimo. Mi permetto solo un suggerimenti per migliorare ancora di più l’esperienza e che riguardano esclusivamente la sala: con il massimo rispetto per chi li ha dipinti, ma i quadri che decorano le pareti sono di qualità più che modesta. Allora meglio delle foto (ma professionali!) o degli specchi con belle cornici o, al limite, le pareti bianche. Io, comunque, all’occasione ci tornerò perché il cuoco e il personale tutto … merita.

26/11/2024: Pleasant experience in a family environment, we discovered the restaurant during a dinner organized with an association, we returned with friends and it was a pleasant confirmation, lovingly cooked fish dishes, generous portions, all seasoned with a serene and familiar atmosphere, wide possibility of choice and attention to detail, certainly a recommended place, we will return with pleasure.

14/05/2025: I highly recommend this place for the excellent quality-price ratio. The pizza and sandwiches are really excellent, prepared with care and quality ingredients. The only note is that the French fries that accompanied the sandwich were a bit small in portion. The outside where they made us sit, especially the courtyard, I found a bit neglected and not particularly inviting. If you are looking for a good pizza or a sandwich in Lecce without spending too much, this is the right place, maybe to enjoy inside.
