03/05/2025: They recommended this restaurant to us among the many we were looking at online. From the first contact, the telephone call with booking via WhatsApp, I found kindness and professionalism. Yesterday, we then decided to have lunch on site, always upon reservation, and it was an excellent experience. As soon as we arrived, the owner welcomed us with warmth and familiarity. He immediately offered us water, bread, tarallini and olives as a welcome. And already here, we liked the fact that it gave us the possibility to choose whether or not to take the starter. Obviously, we ordered, as an appetizer, the grilled mortadella which immediately won us over and, together with this, we also ordered the bruschetta which arrived super seasoned. Then we moved on to choosing the meat, on which Cosimo, the owner, expertly guided us. But the thing that surprised us the most, in addition to the exquisiteness, tenderness and perfect cooking of the meat, was the owner's choice to bring us the three qualities of meat starting from the most delicate meat up to the one full of flavour. He was able to accompany us in a riot of flavors without making us bored and also making us discover flavors we had never tried, due to his selection of uncommon meat that is not easily found in all grill restaurants. Obviously, as with every situation, the bill always depends on what one chooses and desires, so I can safely say that the bill not only perfectly reflected what we had chosen, but furthermore, due to his great kindness and courtesy, Cosimo offered us bitters and coffee. In short, a fantastic experience, absolutely to be repeated and which I highly recommend to everyone. An additional note of merit to the owner who turned out to be a beautiful person, very affable, kind, thoughtful (even though he was alone in managing everything) and friendly until the end, always keeping his professionalism and education first.

22/07/2025: An unforgettable Apulian dinner! Phenomenal bombette, ribs, and sausage, plus a fantastic picanha paired with delicious potatoes. Thank you for your hospitality; it's impossible not to return!

03/06/2025: A very welcoming place, rustic style. Very good and well cooked mixed roast. Then accompanied by a good red wine primitivo of the house could not be missed. Recommended!

23/07/2025: Excellent value for money. Welcoming place and friendly staff. From appetizers to dessert, everything was delicious. The friggitelli peppers and the gratin mussels were particularly popular. We'll definitely be back.

21/07/2025: Recommended. Friendly and helpful staff, very good food. The housekeeping staff was generous and tasty. We went to try the assassina, and it was worth it; very good (slightly spicy, as it should be). Fairly priced (the appetizer was €15, which was enough for two).

15/07/2025: I went there with my family of five. The appetizers were all delicious, both hot and cold, chosen under the careful and expert guidance of the very kind Mimmo, as were the first courses and the special house dessert. Our table wasn't great, as it was next to the restrooms (for both men and women, by the way) and dimly lit, there was no tablecloth, but the real problem came at the cashier. We received the bill (fair prices) and paid. After a bathroom break, the cashier told us there had been a problem with the bill, saying they had omitted two first courses, adding €30 to the initial bill. I paid without any problems, but I think it was unprofessional that they made me pay. If I hadn't taken that bathroom break, that money would have been lost. The customer shouldn't have to pay for the restaurant owner's mistakes, and the only one who seemed truly sorry for what had happened was Mimmo, unlike the cashier. I give 3 stars to the service only because the waiter Mimmo was very kind, 5 stars, without him I would have given 1-2 stars to the service.

11/08/2025: A charming location overlooking the Itria Valley. Attentive and knowledgeable staff, and a menu you absolutely must try. We ate deliciously and will definitely be back!

11/08/2025: We've had several delicious meals. They have excellent wines and antipasti, and the pasta is also good. Giovanni and Elena, the waiters, are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the wines and dishes. Highly recommended!

10/07/2025: The bald, bearded man at the register charged us a service charge when only one person, the only celiac in our group, had a meal. When we complained, he was rude, rude, and even ready to argue, insulting us in the Bari dialect. We were willing to pay the cover charge for the only person who had sat down to eat. Paying for no service makes no sense, I think. He described himself as a restaurant, but it's simply a bar with some references to a diner. I find his behavior completely disappointing. Since I can't respond directly to yours, I'll follow up with my comment here. The bald man isn't body shaming, but rather the hair condition of the gentleman who insulted us in the Bari dialect. On two separate occasions, he directed us to sit outside without providing information about the service or the cost (so much so that the only person who consumed food took their own food outside). Wanting to rip off people and tourists is a prime example of how not to run a business. The bald man (perhaps better that way) compared himself to a restaurant where you're required to pay service charges. Discuss this among yourselves first; maybe you can come out of it better.

09/07/2025: Came here every morning. Incredible array of GF Italian goods and an amply-stocked GF supermarket section too. Recommend the pistacchio cornetto!

16/07/2025: Comida muy deliciosa, la mejor de la zona. He comido en este restaurante varias veces, y cada vez la comida y el servicio eran impecables. Recomiendo probar los platos de marisco, son muy sabrosos.

15/07/2025: Un lugar tan bonito para ir a cenar. Tradicional, un lugar lleno de cultura con gran comida específica como la pasta de mariscos. Es mi segunda vez comiendo aquí y estoy más que complacido. Personal tan amable y atento.

01/06/2025: When I was a kid (40 years ago) I knew it as the Montemurro pastry shop and it had the best croissants in the area. After many years, many bars, many coffees and croissants I returned out of curiosity. The name has changed (DN Bar), the croissants are not the exceptional ones they once were but they are of a good quality (the best in a 4 block radius), the decor is partly the same as 40 years ago, the coffee is good but what positively shocked me is the price of coffee and croissants stuck at 1 Euro (and we are talking about good quality and table service) It's incredible. Well done. I often go to Bari and I will return here.
