10/08/2026: We had lunch at Osteria Pein Assut during a trip to Altamura and it was a fantastic discovery. The location is immediately striking: the space is furnished with extraordinary taste and originality, successfully combining a welcoming atmosphere with stylish details. The service was impeccable: attentive, thoughtful, and always smiling, the staff made guests feel welcome from the first to the last minute. The cuisine deserves a special mention. The traditional first courses, revisited with a modern, gourmet twist, are simply delicious. The choice to highlight local ingredients while maintaining a perfect balance between innovation and substance is greatly appreciated: the portions are decidedly generous, which is far from a given when it comes to sophisticated plating. An excellent experience in every way. Highly recommended if you're in Altamura and looking for quality cuisine in a unique setting!

28/06/2026: We arrived at this place, far from the chaos of Altamura, by pure chance and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted politely and with smiles throughout the dinner, always attentive to every detail. A welcome with crostini and homemade lard, as well as all the side dishes, sauces, and delicacies. A dedication to carefully selected and expertly cooked ingredients. The meat, what can I say? Excellent dry-aged ribs of various types, delicious mutton skewers, the tartare, oh my!!!! The cut is divine, the seasonings, wow, including a fantastic caper. I forgot about the carpaccio with caramelized onion sauce 🫣🫣 speechless. Excellent wine and their red beer! And finally, homemade desserts 🤤🤤🤤🤤🫠🫠🫠🫠. I forgot, we went on a Friday and booked the next day. Congratulations on the family dedication you put into your work, including your collaborators.

12/07/2026: Crazy prices for a perfectly ordinary focaccia. A tourist trap. A place that commodifies one of Southern Italy's simplest culinary traditions and objectifies women who make pasta by displaying them for the sake of some social media story from tourists who ruin our cities! This isn't Southern Italy. I'll add: since you say it's fake, I'm attaching a photo of the receipt.

12/07/2026: If you find yourself in Altamura I definitely recommend stopping by this ancient bakery to taste their focaccias and maybe buy some bread. There is also the possibility of getting a drink and sitting at the tables or benches in front of the bakery. We have tasted various focaccias and they are fantastic, as is the bread we bought. The prices are excellent value for money.

01/06/2026: The owners are very kind and friendly. They have a deep knowledge of Altamura and its history. The building in which the B&B is located is simply stunning. Beautifully restored and furnished, it features a beautiful frescoed ceiling. Everything was very pleasant, even the breakfast.

08/06/2026: Terrible experience, highly recommended. The food completely fell short of expectations; the small panzerotti were excessively greasy and lacked filling. An even more painful note was the service and management (terrible): we witnessed an embarrassing and unprofessional scene, with the owner yelling at his own employees in the dining room. Behavior like that takes away any desire to return, especially given the subpar and uncomfortable atmosphere. There's much room for improvement, but good manners are not optional. I would never return!!!!

21/05/2026: I visited this pizzeria with my wife and will definitely be back, as we were so pleased with the quality of the pizza: the dough is spectacular, light and well-cooked, and digestible. It comes in several variations; I chose the whole-grain version and will definitely return. The ingredients are also excellent, all top-quality. The young, friendly, and fast staff served us immediately, and our orders arrived promptly. Keep up the good work!

12/06/2026: We stumbled upon this bar by chance while passing through Altamura to buy bread. Of course, we couldn't miss out on trying the pasticciotti. We tried the crema e cioccolato, delicious! Among the best we've ever had, but besides the pasticciotti, another highlight of the place is its owner. A very friendly and kind gentleman, we chatted with him for a bit and he was truly kind. Before we left, he even gave us a lucky charm, a meringue, and a pastiera, delicious! DEFINITELY GO THERE, we'll definitely be back.

18/07/2026: Birbacco is a place you'll want to return to. The owner's hospitality is truly exceptional, as is that of his staff: kind, helpful, and capable of making customers feel at ease. The pizza is good, with a well-made dough, although, in my opinion, it's not yet excellent. The only real sore point is the beverages. The bottled beers are almost exclusively craft or otherwise unconventional labels, with flavors that differ from those of classic beers like Nastro Azzurro, Heineken, and the like. These are only available on tap, but for many people, myself included, draft beer is not a suitable choice for health reasons. As a result, the only alternative is often water. This is a shame, because when you plan an evening with friends, you also want to accompany your pizza with a pleasant beverage. This limitation, unfortunately, can lead the group to choose another pizzeria. I hope this observation is taken as a constructive suggestion: expanding the selection of bottled beers with some more traditional labels would make the experience even more complete.

12/07/2026: This was my first time at this pizzeria (and not only). The menu is varied, with piadinas, meats, burgers, and much more. I had the pizza, and I have to say it was amazing! The service was attentive and fast. The outside location was beautiful! The inside is also very nice. Even though it was a Saturday and the place was packed, the staff was friendly. The owner was also kind and friendly, despite having a world on his plate. They even offered a complimentary amaro. We'll be back!
