31/01/2026: I was invited by hunting friends to try woodcock. The risotto with woodcock sauce was excellent, as were the homemade tagliolini made by the chef. It was a surprise for me! From appetizer to dessert, everything was excellent. I'll start by saying that I'm not particularly interested in either. The location and service, in an old trattoria, are excellent. I love the aromas and flavors of the past, which I found excellent. I'll be back soon.

09/12/2025: ABSOLUTE SCAM
We came to this bar tempted by the platter featured in their stories and social media posts. THEY offered us a platter that was half the price of the one in the videos AT THE SAME PRICE. No sandwiches, no fried foods, nothing at all. Just a few slices of cheese and cured meat and 2-3 poorly seasoned bruschettas. Their excuse was that those social media platters were from another era... Too bad the stories were from a few weeks ago.
HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!
We had come from Alessandria specifically... A disgrace!
26/10/2025: Not recommended, there are often fights and people who are not very friendly, crazy prices for the service offered, mandatory drink (never heard of anything like that)

11/01/2026: I think a mechanic could have made a more beautiful cake!! From a stunning photo of a beautiful girl, he managed to make the cake as black and dark as night!!! I'd opt for training and a refresher course in 2026, because cakes like this probably weren't even made in the 19th century; they obviously don't even know where to start. Hard cream, frozen mousse, thoughtful decorations—they draw better in kindergarten. For goodness sake! NEVER AGAIN!
11/01/2026: I've known this pastry shop for a few months. It's close to my house, but I'd never been. Then, six months ago, I tried a small package of fresh pastries to try. They're excellent. It's a Southern pastry shop, so make way for the cannoli and babà, but there are also other pastries: cannoncini, chantilly, and fruit pastries. The mini cheesecakes deserve a special mention; they're something I'd never tried. They make them in all flavors: pistachio, chocolate, lemon, strawberry, etc. I also tried one of their cakes at a birthday party. Everyone at the party loved it. To make a long story short, when I need to give a gift or even for myself, I get a wine tray.

14/11/2025: Over the years, I've noticed the quality of the focaccia bar decline; the hot dishes remain standard, but the service leaves much to be desired in terms of customer service and, above all, guys: there's no soap in the bathroom, even at 11:00 a.m. before the rush of lunch customers begins, and more attention needs to be paid to bathroom hygiene. It doesn't exist.
A restaurant-bar is judged first and foremost by how well it keeps its bathrooms, not just by what's on your plate!

23/09/2025: Choosing a wedding venue is one of the most important decisions you make, and unfortunately, we realized in hindsight that we'd made a mistake in choosing Villa Sorgiva for our June 23, 2024 reception.
From the beginning, the owners, Stefano and Filippo, seemed more profit-oriented than successful.
This feeling, though initially put aside, was unfortunately confirmed over the months and, even more so, on our wedding day.
Biggest disappointments:
• Unusable pool: One of the main reasons we chose the venue more than a year in advance was the possibility of using the pool the day after the ceremony. Despite repeated reassurances and our constant requests for updates over the course of a year, the pool wasn't fixed in time (it was already out of order a year earlier). Their promises proved completely hollow, leaving us deeply disappointed just one week before the wedding.
• Lack of professionalism and support: On our wedding day, guests (friends and family) were forced to set up the tables, place cards, and seating charts themselves because the preparations hadn't been completed (we actually waited in the car for about 30 minutes without knowing what was happening; friends informed us the following days). Such sloppy organization on the part of someone managing an event of this magnitude is simply unacceptable. For those who had rooms, no directions were provided, forcing our guests to search for them themselves in the apartment complex.
• Inappropriate management behavior: The lack of professionalism was also evident in the behavior of one of the organizers in particular. We have witnesses (including the groom himself) of how he took the wedding cake directly from the plates intended for the guests. Furthermore, the same person was seen repeatedly (and significantly) drinking from the open bar during the speeches of the groomsmen and the bride and groom (the open bar was directly behind the speeches, so it remained in the photos). Such behavior is a clear sign of carelessness and disrespect for the couple, the event, and their guests.
• Surprisingly poor service and attention: The rain made the lack of a solid plan B even more evident. The villa has tremendous potential, but unfortunately, they don't take care of it: the lawn, for example, hadn't been mowed for the day of the event, despite us having informed them of our intention to take photos inside the venue.
• The positive side:
Despite everything, the dinner and catering service were of good quality. Unlike many other venues, they allowed us to party until late, but you'll understand that with the myriad of professionals, services, and costs involved for such an important date, these two positive points alone don't cover the mistakes, shortcomings, and inadequacies in the management.
The real saving grace was the presence and warmth of our friends and family (as well as the other professionals chosen, especially the DJ and photographer), whose affection made us forget, for a while, all the organizational issues.
Our advice:
If you're planning your wedding, we recommend always listening to your instincts. A little inner voice told us something wasn't right, but we chose to trust people. In hindsight, we would have preferred to rely on more credible and knowledgeable professionals (check out the reviews on other platforms for yourself).
In conclusion, while the affection of our guests made our day special, the experience with Villa Sorgiva was a source of great stress and disappointment. We wouldn't recommend it for such an important event.

01/05/2025: Before, the old owner was more honest and helpful.
Now the new management has increasingly reduced the size of the sushi and the many main courses and side dishes. If you don't order at least three dishes, you don't enjoy the portions. Considering the price hike on drinks, wines, coffee, and desserts, which are very expensive, alas... especially the ice cream, €5!!! Minimum... for children? And not at all artisanal... Children pay the same as adults if they exceed 1.30 meters... even if they eat less than half, by the way... and the quality has sadly dropped compared to the previous management.
I don't think it's as convenient or good as it used to be. In fact, if you used to go 3 or 4 times a month, now we go once every two months. I hope this helps you both at the restaurant and at future customers.
My opinion.
15/03/2025: We ate lunch today. It wasn't our first time here, we've always had a great time, so we came back without checking the latest reviews, which I must unfortunately confirm...
We walk in (the Christmas tree is still there, in March, whatever) and immediately find a table full of jackets and stuff piled up, and we're immediately surprised—negatively, of course.
We sit down, order, and everything arrives in a decidedly acceptable time frame. The taste is practically the same as always, everything's fine, but then, a second round of orders, and disaster strikes...
One dish arrives immediately, then nothing. It takes 20 minutes for the second course, and we never even saw the others. Furthermore, the grilled salmon we ordered was sold out, but no one bothered to let us know...
We pay, and behind the register is a mess of stuff that has nothing to do with the restaurant, dirty and messy.
We've come to the conclusion that management has changed and things have fallen into oblivion... Too bad, we should look for another sushi place for when we return to this area.

13/04/2026: A bespectacled, plump waitress was rude, bordering on rude. The products were cheap and not fresh. I asked for a change (obviously containing rancid cream). They explained, "THEY COME FROM OUTSIDE, WE DON'T MAKE THEM OURSELVES..." But what does that mean? If the product is inferior/harmful, it shouldn't be offered to customers. She rudely threw the product in the trash, offering me another similar one and adding, "But I don't see the difference," and in fact, I didn't want the same one. I asked for an exchange with another product (the only possible one) at a lower price; they changed it but kept the difference!
I stumbled upon it by chance while waiting for a train... I will carefully avoid it in the future.
23/03/2026: The cashier on duty on March 23, 2026, around 11:00 AM, was rude and unkind. I can't rate the food because I took it and didn't even order it. I won't be returning. Good manners, well done. Thank you for teaching me that a "Ligurian cheese" is different from a "Genoese cheese." She's very professional... never again.
