03/10/2025: Not recommended at all. It's a trap for tourists; you can get better pasta and pizza outside of Italy. They also tried to sneak in a bottle of water that had already been used by another customer because it clearly had lipstick marks on it, and then they tried to sneak it onto another table without any shame. They also rushed us; they wanted to take our plate away before we'd finished eating.

23/10/2025: The place is small but refined and clean. It's located in the historic center, so it's easy to reach on foot. The service is young, professional, and friendly. The dishes are definitely the highlight of this place; the sea urchin carbonara is out of this world, and after trying it, I've never ordered it anywhere else. Overall, I recommend this place if you're in Otranto, especially for a romantic dinner.

21/10/2025: We had a great dinner with great service and high quality of the dishes. Because of a fish allergy and pregnancy they adjusted the menu for me. Which was really kind and delicious! They even had great sparkling 0.0 wine! Thanks for the great evening.

08/10/2025: Very good fish restaurant. We just ordered the fish that had arrived, and it was excellent. A wonderful restaurant with very friendly service and a typically simple Italian atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a living room. We'd be happy to return...

12/10/2025: I used Kuopo for lunchtime takeout, and the wait wasn't too long, which was nice. Some markets are even more expensive, but for this price tag, it's a great deal.

12/10/2025: Very busy place, there were 5 of us and we waited about 20 minutes to get a table. The place is a bit shabby, you eat on the street, they serve you wine in plastic glasses and the food in disposable aluminum trays. The food is very good, they have a good selection of fried foods and seafood, also octopus and mussels. A more than adequate white wine for €6. Good price.

19/10/2025: When I walked into this place I thought I was in a Ruben Östlund film. Minimalist, modern, with only five tables. But don’t be intimidated— our server was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. Very nice amuse bouches as well. And it’s in a stunning location. We really enjoyed it. Small quibble: some of the seats face an extremely harsh outside light, the sort that can trigger migraines, etc. I recommend placing something on the windowsill that would block this health hazard.

11/10/2025: Elegant and well-kept restaurant, perhaps one of the best in the area. They deserve a star for the commitment and passion they put into every dish. Everything is perfect, attention to detail, and the food is of a truly high standard.

05/10/2025: Stop in Sternatia for the Cammino del Salento and dine here at La Porta Antica. We ordered the fritto misto, tagliolini with radicchio, shrimp, and orange, linguine with lemon pesto and shrimp, and for dessert, pistachio spumone and chocolate soufflé. Everything was delicious, and the first courses were generous and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it; the food is truly delicious. Congratulations, well done! 25/09/2025: This restaurant also has outdoor seating. Typical Salento dishes, excellent quality, a little above average but the quality is worth it. Wide selection. Recommended. If we return to the area, we'll definitely return to this place; it's worth a detour.

12/09/2025: Food was ok, average: meatballs tasty, also pasta and fried seafood, on the other hand the grilled squid was cold and chewy. Average experience. Nice lady owner though.

30/09/2025: We went in on a very rainy day, having quickly read the reviews and felt hungry. We had no expectations for it to be this good. We were very, very pleased. We were even more delighted to find that the owner was Turkish. We had gnocchi and pizza. They were delicious, and despite the crowds, the service was quick. After our meal, they let us have our coffees across the street, overlooking the rainbow. Thank you so much for everything.

26/10/2025: I stumbled upon it by chance because the one I always go to was mysteriously closed. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is friendly, smiling, and attentive. I'd say I was lucky. The toasted bread with olive oil is delicious, and the olive oil is excellent, and the Garden Salad is spectacular. Highly recommended.

14/10/2025: Excellent traditional Lucanian cuisine! Exceptional staff and hospitality! Very convenient even if you're just passing through the highway (5 minutes from the toll booth).

30/10/2025: A local spot, just a few steps from the sea! I had an amazing plate of pasta with mussels, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked followed by a mix of fried seafood that was light, crispy, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the ingredients and the care that goes into every dish. The sea breeze, the friendly service, and the relaxed atmosphere make the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for authentic coastal flavors and a laid-back seaside vibe, this place is a true gem. Highly recommended!

13/09/2025: Unfortunately, we went for pizza, but they haven't made it for two years, so the information here on Maps is from a while ago. They don't make pizza at Appia Antica, but they have a big heart and know how to treat their customers. Even though we sat down and got a bottle of water, and even though we got up and left when we learned there were no pizzas, the owners' kindness and helpfulness never wavered, always with a smile, courtesy, and professionalism. Oh, and they even offered us a bottle of water. We'll definitely return for the restaurant, which, even though we can't review the food, has that something extra that makes all the difference... HEART AND HUMANITY

05/09/2025: An Outstanding Dining Experience! We visited the restaurant with our family and were extremely pleased. The service was top-notch – the staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. We tried several different dishes and each one was impressive. Prices are absolutely fair for the quality offered.
