17/01/2026: My expedition companions and I only used the winter shelter as a bivouac; in December, in the dead of winter and with 40 cm of snow, it's already too much. Obviously, the managed shelter was closed, but for hikers like us, the winter shelter is perfect. The location is enchanting.

22/03/2026: A truly enjoyable experience at Trattoria Santellone, especially the Saturday aperitif, which stands out. There's no classic chaotic buffet where everyone serves themselves, but rather an organized service: you go to the counter and they serve your dishes, which you then conveniently carry to your table. A smart, more organized and hygienic formula that avoids confusion and makes everything much more enjoyable. The atmosphere is typical of a trattoria, warm and welcoming, well-maintained, and with an authentic atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at ease. The quality of the food is excellent: truly spectacular risottos and local appetizers prepared with taste and great care. An aperitif unlike any other, well-organized, and of high quality. Highly recommended. Well done.

19/03/2026: We visited this place on Sunday evening for an aperitif dinner. It costs €15 for a drink and an aperitif buffet; any additional drinks are charged at the regular price. The varied and constantly replenished buffet includes appetizers, finger food, and both hot and cold first and second courses. I found the chicken and artichoke salad particularly good. The staff, both at the bar and the buffet staff, were very kind and helpful. Personally, I had a great time and would happily return.

27/04/2026: We were vacationing in the area for a few days and booked this osteria without knowing it, based solely on a whim: we couldn't have been luckier! ​We ate truly deliciously, with dishes that showcase the local area and quality ingredients. The welcome was exquisite, not only towards us, but also towards our little dog, who was welcomed without a fuss and with great kindness (something we always greatly appreciate). ​The owners are extremely friendly and down-to-earth, capable of making you feel right at home. If you're in the area, it's a must-see. We'll definitely be back! Debora and Andrea

11/04/2026: I wanted to have dinner here with my girlfriend. We ordered a beautiful tigella platter and a vegetarian platter. As soon as everything arrived, we noticed that the vegetarian platter was missing the grilled cheese, which was listed on the menu. We pointed this out to the staff and they replied, "It's not available today, we added more vegetables, though." When we tried to explain that we wouldn't have ordered it had we known this in advance, they interrupted us, saying, "But it was a small tomino anyway." First of all, I find it incredible that the staff would disparage their own product after listing it on the menu by saying it was small. If that were the case, they could have avoided it. The food wasn't bad, but as for the lack of notice that there was no cheese, we took it as a joke and didn't enjoy the evening after being left with a bill of 45 euros for two. Such a situation could have easily been avoided.

06/04/2026: Excellent place! They have a special gluten-free tigelle menu for celiacs, and the staff is very knowledgeable about cross-contamination. I had a great time. Thank you!

28/05/2026: Nothing to add. The large and ample parking lot makes it worth spending an evening there. Call ahead to ask if they have the full menu or to reserve a few dishes off the menu during the week. Otherwise, it's exceptional, such as the typical Brescia dishes, beef in oil, skewers, etc.

02/06/2026: I'll start by saying I'm not a mozzarella fan, so this review is very, very subjective. The pizzeria menu is unique and interesting, but the ingredients aren't changeable, as written and highlighted on each page. I spot a pizza without mozzarella, the "Tuna and Onions My Way," with some interesting variations on the theme. When it's time to order, the waitress apologizes and tells us that two of the pizzas on the menu aren't available that evening...naturally, one was the one I'd chosen. I quickly look for an alternative; the pizza is made with Fiordilatte DOP mozzarella, and I ask if they'd be kind enough to use a small amount. The waitress kindly tells me not to worry, as their pizzas are very well-balanced in terms of ingredients. When they arrive, excellent timing and a nice visual, I notice that it's quite white. I cut the first slice and found myself covered in mozzarella... Nothing to complain about the quality and value of the product. They must have put the equivalent of two mozzarella balls on a pizza. Unfortunately, I only managed to eat half, and from that half, I removed 50% of the mozzarella (an incredible waste and shame. I can't stand having to throw away food, especially when it's high quality). Again, I'm sorry I'm a bit of a white fly and don't like mozzarella, but when asked for a specific ingredient dosage (often related to intolerances, etc.), greater attention and flexibility should be shown.
