Great mountain hut towards Lago Aviolo, Passo Tonale, I tasted the Piatto del Rifugio there, very, very delicious, the staff there are very friendly and you feel comfortable.

My expedition companions and I only used the winter shelter as a bivouac; in December, in the dead of winter and with 40 cm of snow, it's already too much. Obviously, the managed shelter was closed, but for hikers like us, the winter shelter is perfect. The location is enchanting.

05/07/2026: I'd also try to reconsider the use of the word "pizza." Real pizza is something else entirely. We're not talking about pizza in the traditional sense here, but a disc of dough with a leavening process that, in my opinion, leaves much to be desired. It's a product with a decidedly more "Nordic" flavor than Neapolitan. De gustibus, but for me, pizza is something else entirely.
