11/07/2026: Wow! This place is wonderful. It was a hot evening so we booked the panoramic view area, it's truly beautiful.
The menu isn't huge but even as vegetarians we had a nice choice.
It's got a feel of a relaxed beach shack but on a mountain! It's got an easy vibe, customer's kids and a couple of well behaved dogs (on leads) around, but the food is taken seriously. I went for the signature risotto and was not disappointed. The presentation was special too.
The price was totally fine. The chef, who I think is the proprietor, speaks English, and as my Italian is limited to about three words, we were grateful that he took care of us.
We were passing on holiday but I hope I'll go back someday.
10/07/2026: I ate very well, a dinner immersed in nature, generous portions that allow you to not just savor the flavors but also enjoy them. Excellent artisanal products such as beer and spirits offered by the chef who wanders around the tables after dinner. It was a delicious dinner and an experience to learn about the culture and the local area.

Ristorante La Vecchia Cantoniera

20/07/2026: Excellent restaurant: typical local dishes, fair prices, and a picturesque setting right on the edge of the Scalve Valley, at the Presolana Pass.
We enjoyed excellent braised beef and jugged venison stew.
The menu also offers a wide selection of polenta in various versions.
The owner is friendly, kind, and helpful.
I personally recommend making a reservation.
A minor point: a slightly more comfortable table wouldn't have gone amiss (there were three of us at a table for two).

Piatti buonissimi, gustosi e abbondanti
Un ringraziamento particolare alla signora che ci ha consigliato di assaggiare i dolci fatti in casa, che hanno chiuso degnamente il pranzo buonissimo

18/02/2025: Bellissimo pranzo, la nostra prima volta.
Arrivare è stata dura :-) si arriva con qualche difficoltà per chi ha auto larghe e si trova isolato in cima a collina con vista molto bella.
Location davvero bella, tipica e i titolari ti fanno sentire a casa.
Portate molto buone, carta dei vini ok e servizio molto cortese.
Ci è piaciuto, ci torneremo e lo consigliamo

02/01/2025: Sono tanti anni che vengo a colle vareno… finalmente un nuovo posto dove fare una pausa pranzo in linea con le tradizioni.
Abbiamo mangiato in una casetta tutta in legno, pochi posti, una sala molto riservata dal panorama mozzafiato. Abbiamo assaggiato il tagliere, ottimi prodotti e i magnifici casoncelli, questa volta fatti in casa, impossibile non accorgesene, strepitosi.
Prezzi onesti e piatti tradizionalissimi. Grazie per l’esperienza!
