18/12/2025: Good morning, unfortunately, I'm not at all satisfied with this place. Average food, nothing exceptional, very small portions, and the waiters' service was nothing short of scandalous. They weren't at all kind and were quick to clear the dishes because, according to them, there were only a few and they needed to be served immediately given the crowd. The location has very little of the Bergamo tradition, and many of the tables are benches. The name of this place has stuck, but I strongly recommend updating everything. The only thing I appreciate is the vegetable buffet, which I think is what sets them apart.

18/12/2025: I've tried the most authentic place in Lombardy, and it's located in Bergamo! I'm talking about Trattoria d'Ambrosio da Giuliana, which has been serving food since 1943. We were welcomed by the legendary innkeeper Giuliana, who, with her smile and passion, led us to our table. Looking around, we saw that the place was filled with antique knick-knacks, period objects, writings, and statues from times gone by. But the real star of the show was the daily menu, and for a whopping 13 euros—I repeat, 13 euros—I ate: 🥬 Mixed salad appetizer to compose from the buffet as we pleased; 🥟 Casoncelli alla Bergamasca; 🍖 Roast beef with polenta; 🍷 A quarter liter of house wine; 🍶 A liter of drinking water. • The atmosphere was that of a true historic trattoria, where you sit close to other people and chat between meals. And to make matters worse, the waiters were very friendly and cheerful. All of this made this lunch so enjoyable that I'm sure I'll have to return to this ancient inn again.

04/12/2025: Excellent pizza and seafood cuisine!

29/11/2025: All things considered, nothing special. The place is informal but needs some cosmetic updating. The service? Very questionable. I definitely saw effort from the waitress, but it wasn't enough. She forgot a lot at both my table and the adjacent tables. While clearing away the dirty plates, she practically touched my shoulder with a dirty fork, causing the rest to fall near me. It doesn't matter, mistakes happen to anyone. The food? My mixed fried fish was definitely light, but only the calamari was good; the shrimp hadn't been cleaned of their intestines and weren't very flavorful. The pizza was good, but nothing to write home about. The price was perhaps a little high considering the overall package, but still acceptable. Will I go back? Since I only visit the area twice a month, no. I'll definitely try other places.

24/11/2025: I just discovered this shop. So far, I've had the chance to try the savory pastries, which I found delicious. The staff was also kind and helpful, accommodating my needs despite the short notice. I hope to return soon to try the sweet pastries and for a delicious breakfast. Thank you.

15/10/2025: Friendliness and competence in service

22/09/2025: I celebrated my birthday here with 12 friends. The chef prepared a special menu for us, which she then explained to us throughout the evening. The presentation of the dishes was excellent; everyone was served at the same time, with breaks between courses (much appreciated). Excellent service, thanks also to the wait staff. I recommend it and hope to return soon!

02/11/2025: In short, we had a wonderful dinner and found the prices to be truly fair. More specifically: we had dinner for two, and we ate a first course and a shared second course. The portions were generous, and after this meal we were practically full and very satisfied with the quality. We drank half a liter of red wine, which we enjoyed. To end the evening, we also treated ourselves to two desserts (a cocoa and walnut cake and a slice of pear cake), which we found excellent. The staff was very friendly. When we return to Bergamo, we will definitely dine here again. Highly recommended!

20/11/2025: Fantastic! I took my wife to dinner for her birthday and everything was perfect: a varied and unique menu, excellent wine recommendations, delicious food, an elegant and romantic atmosphere, and attentive and friendly service.

18/12/2025: Delicious! ate the scarpinocc (bergamo traditional ravioli) with sage & butter (fave dish I think, such good flavor, sage was so good), eggplant parmigiana style small bites (roll di parmigiana di milanzane) was very good), and also enjoyed my Scialatielli all'Astice (amalfi coast seafood pasta /lobster pasta)

30/11/2025: This is now the third time my partner and I have eaten here. We've tried about 10 dishes, including pasta, naan, rice, and appetizers, and we can say that everything is fantastic. The owner is welcoming and always willing to offer suggestions on what to try. The prices are absolutely fair for the quality and quantity. 17/12/2025: Last night we had dinner at Baretto and had a really good time. We stopped because we had to pick up a friend in Orio al Serio: the shuttle service from the parking lot they reserved for us was also very convenient, top-notch organization. Everything at the table was excellent: very good welcome kombucha, then homemade bread with whipped butter. Impeccable service, especially Edoardo: very kind, always smiling (as handsome as the sun 🤭) We recommend 100/100

24/11/2025: The best pizza I've had in a long time! I had a 4 formaggi and a frutti di mare to share. The dough was delicious, light as a feather; you can tell they know what they're doing. I recommend trying it if you haven't had it before.

13/10/2025: New to the area. Five stars aren't enough; I would have given them 10. The platter was fantastic, featuring typical local products; the porcini mushroom risotto was delicious; the pizzoccheri were incredible; the dessert was so good it was heartbreaking. Highly recommended; the quality of the ingredients was excellent and the price was right. I'll be back soon!
