We went for dinner on Saturday evening, intending to try typical local dishes. Not only was the staff extremely kind and welcoming, but the dishes (especially the meat-based ones) were a real treat: delicious casoncelli and tender, flavorful donkey and veal. The desserts were also truly delicious; I personally ordered the croccante with ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, filled with truly exceptional dishes and the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff. Highly recommended!

What can I say? I already had lunch at Tecla (and Gabriella) a month ago, so how could I miss out?
Once you know the place and the food, the perfect end to a strenuous hike uphill from San Giovanni Bianco to San Gallo is a delicious meal and drink at Tecla's Bar Trattoria e Pizzeria, with its breathtaking panoramic view and the pleasure of consuming delicious, fresh food.

The casoncelli were excellent, and the pizza was delicious. The waitress was very kind and available to answer any questions. Mrs. Tecla, the owner, was a wonderful lady.
I will definitely be back.

Frankly, I wasn't expecting it. We thought we'd be having lunch somewhere like any other, but then... boom, a warm welcome from Mrs. Gabriella, the dining room hostess, sister of Tecla, the chef. They are the backbone of this restaurant. That said, let's get to the important stuff. The platter for two was sublime, with excellent cold cuts, delicious local cheeses, and a truly accomplished house pickled vegetables... everything was plentiful. We moved straight on to the main courses: delicious polenta taragna al bastone and a donkey stew with taragna; the meat melted in your mouth, and the polenta was delicious. For dessert, a panna cotta, completely different from the thousands of other panna cottas I've eaten so far, delicious, and then a homemade croccantino that took me back to my childhood... thank you for this experience, and so much for the wonderful Gabriella. She's kind and friendly, and you can tell she explains the dishes with such passion.
