21/09/2025: Delicious. We were looking for pasta (caboranara and pomodoro) and found it. 100% recommended, and the service was 10/10, very friendly.

18/10/2025: I chose the restaurant both because it has a Satispay agreement (so I can use company meal vouchers) and because of the good reviews I'd read online. We ordered an appetizer and two main courses: a duck and a fillet of meagre with samphire and potatoes (€28 for the fillet with samphire alone). After a few minutes, what I believe to be the owner returns to the table to inform us that the duck is unavailable—a shortcoming that, given the restaurant's "standards," should have been disclosed when ordering. The wait for our dishes is quite long: at least 30 minutes. When they finally arrive, we discover that one of them is incomplete. We're told, "Our apologies, but the samphire is out"—so one of the dish's three main ingredients is simply removed, without any warning or alternative offer. To my surprised reaction, the owner responds with a rather unfortunate question: "Do you even know what samphire is?" —I still wonder what that sentence meant. Result: a €28 dish reduced to a fillet of sea bass with three slices of potatoes. The icing on the cake: when I got the bill, I tried to pay with Satispay, but the owner said, "Well, I don't know if it works, I never use it." Spoiler: Satispay didn't work—or rather, it did work, but the owner wouldn't click "accept," despite me pointing it out several times. In the end: 1. I paid out of pocket. 2. I spent €122.50 for an appetizer, two main courses, a dessert, two glasses of wine (plus two dessert wines), and a coffee. 3. I received rude and inattentive service. 4. No discount or gesture of courtesy, despite the obvious shortcomings. 5. I look at the receipt and realize we paid €6 for a coffee (not even in St. Mark's Square in Venice) and donated 50 cents to an organization unknown to us, without asking us in advance (usually the 50 cents donated are deducted from the profit, not added to the customer's account without a request). The only positive note: the quality of the ingredients and the kindness of the rest of the staff (especially the lady in the dining room, who was truly courteous!). Unfortunately, given this situation, a customer can only leave feeling dissatisfied.

17/10/2025: A wonderful dinner in Lucca's historic center. The best restaurant in the city center... excellent food and impeccable service. The owner was able to accommodate every request! If you haven't stopped by for lunch or dinner, you haven't been to Lucca!

06/10/2025: I went with my husband. The food was excellent. The fish was top-quality. The service was wonderful, led by his father, who brings back the Smile. The atmosphere was clean, if a little old-fashioned. But the food is the real highlight!

06/10/2025: We happened upon this place from Google maps as it was one of the only places left open at 2pm for lunch and we are so glad we did! Food was excellent - we both had a seafood dish, one Poseidon pappardelle and one seafood risotto. Wine was reasonable and even though I only ordered a glass he left the rest of the bottle. Panna cotta for dessert was delicious and the waiter didn't even mind that I ordered a cappucino after lunch ;) Service was fantastic and as we watched other dishes coming out, they looked equally amazing! Would highly recommend :)

13/10/2025: I ordered a pizza margarita and got I don’t know what that was. It was a pizza but there was literally water on it. It tasted disgusting. That was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. The woman behind the counter was watching something on her phone and she turned her phone way to loud.

13/10/2025: Unfortunately, the Margherita pizza was swimming in tomato sauce and tasted completely stale. The ravioli still had cooking water on the plate, and there was nothing on the side except Parmesan cheese. It was the worst meal we've had in Italy so far, and in our opinion, we wouldn't recommend it.

08/10/2025: Great food, just as you'd imagine when you think of Italy. High-quality yet affordable, and pleasantly relaxed. Very friendly restaurant owners, they seem to have a very informal atmosphere. Thank you for the authentic and delicious evening with a magnificent view!

08/09/2025: My group and I spent the August bank holiday at the restaurant and had a great time. They served us a set menu from appetizers to dessert. The afternoon included music and karaoke. We had fun and spent a wonderful day among rabbits, horses, and other little animals at the edge of the woods. I recommend it.

31/08/2025: A little out of the way, but worth it for the breathtaking view that opens up upon arrival. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, and what more can I say? The focaccia is delicious, as are the cured meats and everything else. Focacceria Santa Lucia is unique, and definitely worth a try. Top!

06/10/2025: It's a dream to experience this kind of fast food. It's very popular with locals, which speaks volumes about the quality. The staff speaks several languages ​​and is incredibly friendly. Fresh, delicious, and the selection is huge. Even the regular fries taste like gold.

16/09/2025: The service here is terrible. We booked a reservation and were given the worst located table at the restaurant. The wait staff treated us as a chore and were very unorganized. We consistently saw food that the staff did not know where to run it to. The food was mediocre and took about 1.5 hours to serve a pasta dish. If you are American avoid this place, they simply do not care.

16/09/2025: What was supposed to be a romantic evening with my husband on our first night in Siena during our honeymoon turned out to be a major disappointment at Vivace Ristorante. We had made a reservation for 7:30, specifically hoping for a table on the terrace with a beautiful view overlooking Siena. Instead, we were seated at a less-than-ideal table, and the staff made no effort to offer a warm welcome. From the very beginning, the atmosphere felt uninviting. The service was extremely slow. It took over an hour and a half for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, the dishes were mediocre at best. Honestly, my grandmother’s recipes back home are far better. To make matters worse, the head waiter was shockingly rude—not only to us but also to his own staff. Having worked in food service for over 10 years, I could clearly see how poorly he treated the servers, and it was uncomfortable to watch. The only kindness we received that evening was from the younger staff, who tried to make up for his behavior. One moment that really stood out was when my husband tried asking a simple question about the area. Mid-sentence, the head waiter interrupted him, walked away, and never returned to finish the conversation. It was dismissive and incredibly disrespectful. On top of everything, one of the first things we ordered was bottled water. It never came, yet we were still charged for it. When we tried to get the head waiter’s attention to address it, he blatantly ignored us, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. If you are American—or really any tourist—avoid this place. It feels like a tourist trap with overpriced, average food and unfriendly service. Siena has many wonderful restaurants with genuine hospitality—unfortunately, Vivace is not one of them. :-(

05/09/2025: I had the lampredotto sandwich at Aurelio's! Having never had it, I said, "YOU MAKE IT!", and I must say, I was right to trust him! Delicious! This sandwich is truly spectacular! 🤤

29/09/2025: Il Caldetino is the right choice even for the pickiest of eaters. The access from the main road may be a bit confusing, but it only gets better from there. The large parking lot allows you to find a spot even when fully booked. The fantastic menu and extensive wine list (QR CODE) are a gourmet's paradise. We've been there several times and tried practically everything. The service is also exceptionally friendly and the prices are reasonable. Note: Reservations are essential. We'll definitely visit again when we're in Tuscany.

22/09/2025: Almost perfect and a must visit, if you are around this area. Amazing food(for a good price). The startes(pulpo and croquetas) and main course(risotto, beef in bluecheese sauce) are really good👌🤤. The view is outstanding! The wine quality is very good(nice ripasso). However, work on your service and timings. The service is friendly, but the timings.. Glass prosecco 30 minutes waiting, starter 75 minutes waiting..

05/10/2025: Ate here again today. Everything was excellent, the pizza was very good, and the antipasti was also excellent. The service was friendly and attentive. The house red wine was also delicious. We'd be happy to come back another time.
