This is simply the best bar in Pisa for both lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is incredibly pleasant, the food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The prices are also very reasonable, which makes the experience even better. We enjoyed it so much that we came back twice! We tried the tiramisu, truffle pasta, and two different kinds of pizza, everything was amazing. The pizza, in particular, was one of the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Pisa!

Fabulous restaurant with excellent customer service. Food is so fresh and tasty that we returned for a second meal on the last day of our 7 day trip. Highly recommend - reasonably priced for portion size and beautiful flavour.

Gaia convinced us to try Il Peperoncino and I’m so glad she did. She was super kind—no pressure at all, just let us look at the menu and chat for a bit before deciding. We ended up staying, and the service was amazing and the food was so good. It’s also in a great spot right by the Leaning Tower, which made it even better. Definitely one of those random stops that turns into a really good memory.

The true heart of the restaurant is Mr. Carlo, a unique presence at San Paolo. A great chatterbox, he's always ready to share his incredible story, which saw him transition from pastry making to cooking, creating a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. His warm welcome and attention to detail make him a true ambassador for the restaurant. With great charm and passion, he manages to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making every customer feel at home, recommending the daily specials and selecting the finest wines. His energy and zest for life are contagious, and made our dinner at San Paolo an unforgettable experience. We ordered: Pappardelle with duck ragù; Paccheri with scorpionfish ragù; Sea bass and red mullet millefeuille; Fresh tuna steak with rosemary on sweet and sour onions; Cheesecake; Apple charlotte, wine, and coffee. We spent €96, which was definitely worth it for the quality of the food and service. We will definitely be back.
