After reading dozens of reviews before our trip, Gelato Marco was the clear winner… and it completely lived up to the hype! The queue stretching down Via Malcanton is the first clue you’re in the right place. Creamy, intense flavours (the pistachio is pure green gold, the chocolate extra-dark and decadent, the fruit sorbets taste like they were made five minutes ago). Generous portions, friendly service even when it’s packed, and prices that feel almost too fair for this quality. We were 4 and tried 10 flavours – every single one was perfection. If you only have gelato once in Trieste, make it here. Worth every second of the wait!

The 4 stars are because the desserts were too sweet and the decaf coffee I had was the worst I've ever had; it was watered down.

10/12/2025: I hate to give a negative review, especially since the atmosphere is very nice.
Table service was very slow; after a 20-minute wait, I got up and left. The waiter (alone in the dining room) started serving tables full of people who had literally just arrived, ignoring me.
10/12/2025: Very elegant, but not at all exaggerated. I've seen many gluten-free pastries, but this one is definitely the best in Trieste and easily in the top 5 in all of northern Italy.

The food is wonderful.
We've been going to this Chinese restaurant for decades now and we never go anywhere else.
They don't even put MSG in the place.
For me, it's the best.

09/01/2026: Everything is amazing, from the moment you enter the place until you leave. Pizza is amazing, baked in fire and the hard part is to choose between 4 pages of pizzas available😃 they have very interesting choices like pizza with beer salsa. Service is 10/10, plus they are pet friendly🙂
Don’t skip this place when you are in Trieste.
02/01/2026: The pizza had a very tasty and crispy crust, and the service was very friendly and helpful. The lady asked if the kids could have their pizza cut in half and have an extra plate. The pizza oven perfectly captures the atmosphere. The price is very reasonable.

19/01/2026: Hidden gem that's mostly visited by locals. The food is delicious. I had the bruschetta and the pasta tricolore which was full of flavour. It's a shame I didn't discover this until the last day of my trip. Would definitely recommend.
