26/07/2026: Our first time in Trieste, we were looking for a restaurant where we could eat well, and after seeing the dishes, we asked for a recommendation... excellent! The staff was super friendly; we ordered seafood dishes and, despite the wait, we ate deliciously! Excellent value, the portions were generous, the fish delicious, and you could taste it was fresh. The wait was made up for with two rounds of complimentary limoncello. Finally, we said goodbye, meeting one of the staff members who was very friendly, courteous, and incredibly helpful. An excellent introduction to Trieste and to us, who, we already know, will be back.

26/07/2026: Very kind. I asked for some talcum powder because I'd stained my face. They kindly gave me a spray with a brush attached. I ate very well.

16/07/2026: Without a doubt, this is one of the great restaurants not only in Trieste, but in Italy. The restaurant itself is worth the visit: it's a very well-preserved building from 1830. The atmosphere is elegant and the service is very kind, especially the maître d' and sommelier, Loris, a philosopher of the good life. We had 4 glasses of wine (excellent suggestions from Loris), 2 appetizers and 3 main courses. Don't miss the seafood risotto: one of the best we've ever tasted. Perfect evening!

26/06/2026: I already knew I Maestri and had fond memories of it, which is why the episode left me even more perplexed. I was a guest with a reservation for two at 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, my train was delayed, so the restaurant was notified by phone: the understanding was that we would try to arrive by 9 PM, when the kitchen closed. When we couldn't, we ended up not showing up. An unpleasant mix-up, certainly. No one denies it. But the real highlight came later, when the owner decided to call to yell, accuse, and complain in an aggressive tone, turning a reservation cancelled due to a train delay into a dress rehearsal for a nervous breakdown. I would have understood the annoyance, a criticism, even a curt reprimand. I understand much less the need to launch into a frantic phone tirade, as if two missed table settings automatically authorized the suspension of good manners. A shame, because I fondly remembered the restaurant. Now I will remember it above all for the unexpected post-booking service: unwanted, shouted at, and definitely more indigestible than any bill.

25/06/2026: We finally managed to get a reservation at this small seafood restaurant in Trieste. The fish was incredibly fresh, and some dishes were original in their combinations. The owner is very kind and friendly; it was very hot, so she brought me a fan. A very positive experience, fair prices.

30/06/2026: This restaurant is a disaster, and it's an absolute mystery how they made it into the Michelin Guide. The waiter was incredibly arrogant when we made our reservation for the next day. The service that evening was abysmal. The side dish for the fish of the day was listed as potatoes, but they were missing. When we complained, we were told they should have been ordered separately. Oily fried potatoes arrived after we had already finished the fish. The staff didn't even notice our hasty departure or that we were asking for the bill. I've never encountered such a restaurant in the Michelin Guide. The good reviews are completely incomprehensible. There are far better restaurants in Trieste. Never again!

16/07/2026: We received a wonderfully warm welcome at Osteria ai 2 Ladroni and immediately felt at home in the very cozy and charming restaurant. The food was simply delicious and of excellent quality. But what really stands out here is the presentation! All the dishes were incredibly beautiful, creative, and colorful – a true visual and culinary highlight. We highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Trieste. We'll definitely be back!

12/05/2026: Excellent sandwiches, good beer, fair prices, and very fast service. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. The only downside is that they don't charge separate bills for groups. If you have cash, no problem.

02/07/2026: The food was fantastic, unbeatable! The price was right, and the service was attentive and reliable. The clientele was lovely, both local and international. Definitely recommended!

28/06/2026: I went for a drink outside one evening with some friends. A nice place on the main street of Trieste's nightlife. In addition to a wide selection of drinks, despite the late hour, it offers simple food like meatballs (delicious), breaded eggplant, and much more. Excellent value considering the street it's on. There are two flaws, however, the first of which, in my opinion, is significant: we weren't allowed to keep separate bills, which was highly inconvenient and questionable given the lack of advance notice. And the choice to bring a Prosecco in a glass instead of a stemmed glass, in a place that's also a restaurant, is also a poor choice. (I recommend using plastic stemware in the evening instead.) Aside from these two issues, it's a good place to spend an evening with friends.

26/07/2026: The food is wonderful. The service is also very pleasant and friendly. Top-notch. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself is too old-fashioned and oppressive for my taste. I highly recommend a renovation.

18/04/2026: Wait time was soo long. The caffe lattes were very good, but the brioche was the worst one I have ever had. We have taken the pistachio ones. They were stale, the cream didn’t taste like pistachio at all (it literally had the taste of crema). So only the color matched. What a shame after we have also waited 30 minutes Maybe the other pastries and cakes are better, but this was a horrid experience for us. I would avoid buying brioches from here.

10/05/2026: Good, but outrageously priced, probably due to tourism. €8.20 for a croissant and two cappuccinos... you can't bear it!

27/04/2026: A very nice place, but unfortunately, it's noisy, chaotic, and poorly cleaned. There are a lot of young people working there, serving customers as best they can. As soon as you walk in, all you hear is people yelling constantly. The service is slow, I'd say terrible. I hate to give such a review; it's not usually my style, but I've been to that bar three times, and each time it's gotten worse.
