Today I was in a hurry and not being able to prepare dinner I thought I'd get some fried calamari to take away..
Truly exceptional, crunchy, tasty, plentiful.. Believe me... These calamari were amazing.. Plus there were also two nice slices of polenta.
Super fresh fish.. and very quick preparation to take them home.. Plus they were made on the spot.. No small feat.
A compliment to all the staff.
If you come to Trieste you absolutely must make a stop.
29/01/2024: Returning from Slovenia I entered Trieste and right in the center (in front there is the aquarium with parking) there is this very simple trattoria. The homemade tagliolini are spectacular; not to mention the battered scampi tails where the batter was simply sublime! With wine, water and coffee I spent €28.

Absolutely recommended for a quick bite at the counter.

06/04/2024: Tasty food, fresh fish and sea food. Especially liked the tagliatelle with truffles, the scallops and scorpeda fish and the fried sardines. House wine was excellent too. Just the street seating I don’t like.

03/04/2024: Simple, rustic, rural but absolutely enjoyable environment, limited menu but excellently set in the location, excellent jota and superb omelette with sausage! The wine is drinkable, but, on a somewhat painful note, it could absolutely be better, given the area suited to viticulture. The prices are astonishing, a quality/price ratio that I have never found anywhere. I will definitely be back!
