12/11/2025: I booked for dinner because we had an upcoming engagement, so I chose based on our needs. However, we discovered the atmosphere of historic restaurants. We descended a staircase and entered a comfortable room. The attentive and courteous service moved between the tables with ease, keeping everything under control. At the end, we went upstairs, and the owner offered us a liqueur. We paid the bill, which was good value for money, and we lingered to chat for a while. I recommend stopping by if you're passing through.

We ordered from the "chef recommends" menu and it was great. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

01/12/2025: Trattoria in the hills of Florence, in Montebeni. The location is charming, and even the interior is reminiscent of old-fashioned trattorias, with a beautiful, bright dining room. We started with a complimentary entrée of pappa al pomodoro and a spinach and parmesan cheese platter. This was followed by a mixed platter of cured meats accompanied by bruschetta and mixed fried vegetables. To finish, we ordered the legendary bistecca fritta, which was delicious, if a bit heavy.
Overall, everything was truly excellent. We'll definitely return, although it's often packed and difficult to find a table.
23/11/2025: Being a true Florentine, I wanted to try the fried steak. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of the meat, the perfect cooking, and the dry breading.
The service is fast and professional.
I highly recommend it.

30/11/2025: What can I say, gentlemen? My compliments to this GREAT trattoria, which welcomed us as if we'd been regulars for years, not just tourists. The quality of the dishes and the FLORENTINE STEAK were truly top-notch, and the prices were decidedly un-Florentine. We had a truly wonderful time, and every time we return to Florence, I'll definitely know where to go for something delicious.
28/11/2025: Perhaps one of the few thriving traditional restaurants serving local, homemade recipes. A welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere with unparalleled food quality. Old-world flavors in the heart of Florence's historic center. Highly recommended.

11/11/2025: If you like beef you have to try the Ossobuco alla Fiorentina, the beef was so tender, the sauce flavour it’s delicious and the potatoes very good cooked, also we tried the ravioli, very creamy and overall very good flavours, the place is cozy and not that busy at least on the time we were there November/Monday. The price is pretty decent for the tasty food you get and the service was very fast.

17/11/2025: We’ve eaten at Ristorante Mastro Ciliegia multiple times over the years, and it has never let us down. The pizzas are phenomenal, the calzones are big enough to require a support group, but the real magic is in the primi and secondi. The risotto with asparagus is always spot-on, the peposo with whipped potatoes is pure comfort, and the true showstopper is the deceptively simple spaghetti alla carrettiera—absolute perfection on a plate.
Desserts? Also fantastic. Service is warm, genuine, and exactly what you want. And the pricing is beyond reasonable for the quality.
In short: consistently excellent food, honest hospitality, and a menu that keeps pulling us back year after year. Highly recommend.

04/12/2025: Let me start by saying that I'm a foodie, passionate about cooking and a gourmand, so I have both food and cooking expertise and professional restaurant experience. I must say that this restaurant pleasantly surprised me. The atmosphere is elegant yet refined, the food is traditional and local yet gourmet, the ingredients are high-quality, and the service is excellent, friendly, warm, and professional (special mention goes to our top chef, Gianni). It's definitely worth a visit for those who haven't tried it. I'll be back soon.
03/12/2025: We called on a Saturday just an hour early and they seated us. As soon as you walk in, the Florentine steaks are in plain sight, with their cooking counter behind them. We ate typical Tuscan fare, with the Florentine steak, of course, cooked to perfection and very satisfying. Worth keeping in mind for a future trip.
Adequate service, as was the bill.

16/10/2025: Happened to come by this place by chance, but turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in Florence. We enjoyed the experience so much that we went back the next night with a couple of friends who were also in Florence.
Good food, warm service and great atmosphere.
They have a daily changing menu, but we enjoyed the zucchini and saffron pasta, pumpkin chips, fried sole with butter garlic sauce and ragu.

We've been here over the last 10+ years and although the menu changes, the quality of the food doesn't. The food prices sadly have increased and the portion sizes of the pasta dishes have reduced a little, such is life.
They seem to have switched their pizzas to more long pizzas but they are still good and worth coming here for or take away.
100% recommended, but as with all things, food shrinkflation.
Highly recommend the fiorentina Steak dishes here, not the 1kg one, but the 650g scottona which was amazing after all these years. The 1kg is really pricey imo, other establishments charge around 65/kg not 85/kg which this place does

The atmosphere is family-friendly, the staff is friendly and welcoming. The price is fair. An absolute must-try experience.
