Trattoria Mario’s bistecca alla florentina is the BEST steak I’ve had in my life. It’s a must if you’re in Florence. We went at lunch and it was quite packed, so plan ahead! Great prices as well.

A very small but busy restaurant, make a reservation well in advance if you want to eat here.
Best Florentine steak in Florence, tender, well seasoned, fantastic! And very reasonably priced.
Quick and attentive waiters.
The restaurant is over 70 years old and endures thanks to the quality of its dishes.

A wonderful trattoria in the center of Florence. Super great food and wine.
We were seated right in front of the kitchen, and got all service possible.
Highly recommend a visit!

They miraculously found us a place!
The meat was good, both the rare steak (that's how it should be!) and the tagliata (a slice of beef) well done.
The almond version of the Torta della Nonna was also delicious.
Everyone was kind.

Chosen because it won 4 Ristoranti with Alessandro Borghese thanks to its extraordinary Florentine steak.
Small, authentic, and full of character: a simple, homey place that truly deserves every possible star.
The three of us chose some great traditional classics: ribollita, fagioli all'uccelletto, and the typical crostini ai fegatini.
The real star, however, was the 1.2 kg Florentine steak: first they brought it to the table to show us, and then it arrived "cooked to perfection." Don't ask for it rare... that would almost be sacrilegious. The meat is exceptional, incredibly tender, juicy, and easy to carve.
The menu changes frequently and is handwritten, a detail that adds even more authenticity to the place. To finish on a high note, we tried the bacione and the cantucci with vin santo: truly excellent.
The service is friendly, fast, and very attentive to detail. A special mention for Alessandro, the waiter who served us: attentive, friendly, and personable, he made the experience even more enjoyable. The open kitchen also contributes to the authentic and welcoming atmosphere.
The bill? About €90 for three, considering the quality of the dishes and the meat, absolutely fair.
If you're in Florence, it's a must-try... best to book well in advance!
