We always return with great pleasure. We're regulars, and when we pass through Florence, it's our only stop, as it's the last bastion of Florentine cuisine and a place to enjoy a quiet dinner, laughing with the owner and experimenting with flavors.
The owner is a delightful gentleman, friendly, smiling, welcoming, and a true Florentine. He explains the dishes with love and always has the right advice.
The dishes are limited; don't expect a 200-course menu, but in my opinion,
A place that offers "little choice" is because it knows what it's doing and knows what it's preparing for you, and trust me, it knows what it's doing.
If you're passing through Florence, in my opinion, it's a must-see.
Highly recommended

A lovely place to eat.
The staff was very friendly and attentive; they even gave us a taste of another of their specialties, whose name I can't recall, but it had a pear sauce.
Very centrally located, quiet, and not noisy at all. Highly recommended; in fact, we'll definitely be back for dinner another day.

Best food we’ve had in Italy thus far. We went for lunch and everything was delicious for our party of 5. We practically had the place to ourselves at 2pm on a Monday. Highly recommend for food, service and atmosphere.

Outstanding. I was here during a busy period - Anteprima Toscana/Chianti Collection - so I felt luck just to be abe to get a reservation; having been here a few years before , I knew what I could expect. They did not disappoint. The wine list is good, as before, but with the Podere Casaccia and the biodynamic orange wine from La Ginestra, it went to great in my book.
I began with the Tartara di avocado , datterini, frutto della passione e gamberi rossi, which proved a proper dish for the organge wine. Next, I chose the Tagliatelle con ragù di coniglio, crema di piselli e bacon croccante. This was prepared in an uncommon manner, but boy did it eve pop!, especially with the balance of the #LaGinestra orange wine. My final dish was the perfectly tender, deeply flavored braised Cinghiale - wow, was that ever good. It was a good thing I came hungry, because I think the generous portions would have been enough for two people, no problem.
The service was a thing of beauty: just two people taking care of the front of the house and yet somehow they did the job of four people, and they did it well, too.
The kitchen was no different: everything was delicious, served at the perfect temperature and imprinted my brain with one critical message: return to Coquinarius, as soon as possible. The Podere Casaccia had five years since vintage, so it, too, was in the sweet spot, and I really appreciate seeing wines in their preferred drinking windows on a wine list - it makes the whole experience that much more memorable. In the instant case, it was highly memorable. Grazie ancora la squadra Coquinarius. Mr. H.
