Quality comes at a price, but the prices are in line with the quality and the type of restaurant. I recommend all the appetizers and, of course, the meat.

07/12/2025: What a wonderful experience!!! Lunch in Florence is often risky because most of the places are touristy. Marione, however, is a guarantee!!! There are two places: Marione and Marione al Trebbio. Today we tried Marione al Trebbio. If anything, it was even better than the other. Classic menu: crostini, ribollita, steak with potatoes and spinach, cream and pine nut cake, and vin santo. Everything absolutely perfect and of the highest quality. The house wine was also exceptional. The price was more than fair. Giulia, a wonderful host, always smiling and very kind, completed the experience. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

01/12/2025: After a few days exploring beautiful Tuscany, I booked this trattoria because it had good reviews. Well, if you're passing through, come and eat, it's definitely worth it. The atmosphere is beautiful and rustic, the service is fast, friendly, and helpful, the prices are reasonable, and the wine list is extensive. The pappardelle are amazing, the wild boar is tender and tomato-free, and it's served with currants, the beef tagliata is incredibly tender, and the onions and baked potatoes are amazing. To finish, two delicious desserts. And by the way, a good wine to accompany everything is a must.

07/11/2025: A very beautiful, quaint place with a strong historical identity. Everything was excellent, from the cold cuts, cheeses, and bruschetta to the Florentine steak, which was buttery soft and flavorful. Plus, they bring it to your table and portion it out right in front of you. The desserts were also excellent and distinctive, like the cheesecake reimagined with cantucci biscuits. The staff was also very welcoming. Highly recommended!!!

This trattoria is frequented primarily by Florentines. The dishes are truly excellent, made with quality ingredients and served in generous portions. 11/10/2025: Very close to Antinori and in the heart of Garbino, this restaurant was bustling with locals and tourists (like us) which made the atmosphere come alive in such a great way. Food: 5/5. We had Florentine steak which was cooked just right and full of flavour. Also a pasta and a side of potatoes, it was all incredibly delicious. Come dolci, we indulged in their panna cotta options and they nailed it on all aspects. Service: 5/5. Not much to say here other than they did very well and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Our reservation was held and we were served quickly.

28/11/2025: My wife and I first found this little restaurant by accident in 2022. We had just finished visiting the Bargello Museum and were hungry for lunch. My wife had been searching everywhere in Italy for a good risotto that didn’t use truffle oil. It seemed like every place added truffle, and she doesn’t like that. We walked in and asked the man working there, and he immediately said, “No! A real Florentine does not use truffle oil in risotto!” After that passionate answer, my wife knew this was the right place. She ordered a simple asparagus risotto, and it became her favorite risotto in the world. I had a seafood ravioli that was excellent too. We loved it so much we went back a second time before that trip ended. When we returned to Florence in November 2025 with a large group, we ended up eating at Il Barroccio three times—and every meal was wonderful. It has truly become our favorite restaurant in Florence. The restaurant is run by a small team: Mr. Giovanni at the front and his wife cooking in the back. He is passionate, honest, and very serious about how real Italian food should be prepared and enjoyed. This place is local, authentic, and full of character. If you follow Giovanni’s advice, you’ll experience something special. We celebrated my birthday here with 15 people. We didn’t even set a menu—Giovanni simply brought out the dishes he thought we should have, and everything was perfect. The artichoke pasta was so incredible that I don’t think I’ll ever taste anything like it again. Gianni(I hope I spelled his name correctly) has become a friend, and I will return as often as I can. I highly, highly recommend this place.

05/11/2025: We (four sophisticated foodies from San Francisco) had the best meal of our amazing Italian vacation at Osteria Il Barroccio in Firenze. We ate the gorgonzola gnocchi there three years ago and had been talking about it ever since. We were thrilled to be able to reserve a table when we got back to Florence. We had the artichoke and parmesan (carchiofi) to start and it was the best of my entire life. We of course had the gnocchi next and were sorry because as it was the most delicate, rich, and delectable thing imaginable, we feared that the rest of the meal would be a disappointment. We need not have worried, the courses built on each other like a magnificent symphony, each dish surpassing the last, especially the pepper steak which absolutely melted on the tongue. Even though we were quite full, we ordered the panna cotta and the tiramisu. The orgasmic moans that emanated from our table should have made us blush, but the rich silky spoonfuls rendered us greedy and shameless. This place is a treasure.
