The atmosphere is warm and inviting, just like stepping into a family kitchen, and the food is nothing short of spectacular. Their lasagna is, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had outside of my own Nonna’s—layers of tender pasta, rich meat sauce, and perfectly melted cheese, all made with the kind of love and care you can taste in every bite.

12/08/2025: Ci siamo capitati quasi per caso, cercando un posto dove mangiare una fiorentina nel Chianti, a pranzo in un giorno infrasettimanale, dopo aver trovato diverse serrande abbassate. E abbiamo scoperto solo dopo una volta entrati che era un posto un po' speciale. Da Padellina si mangia una cucina toscana semplice e ben fatta, con salumi locali e un'ottima bistecca alla fiorentina cucinata come si deve e ai prezzi giusti, certo. Ma è anche il contesto ad aggiungere qualcosa. L'ambiente è caldo, strapieno di oggetti, foto e biglietti da visita con i ringraziamenti all'oste, che è un personaggio. Il simpatico titolare, detto 'padellina', è un cultore di Dante che ama, sembra, recitare a memoria ai clienti (su youtube ci sono dei video, ho poi scoperto).

11/08/2025: First of all, it's always a pleasure to have a server who can speak your language (French), and then everything was super good. The place is great, the restaurant is cute, the servers are friendly, everything is great here.

17/08/2025: Graceful wild boar fillets pine away as long as you eat them. Even more graceful girls welcome you with warmth. The only negative is that at Chichibio's inn, cranes are missing from the menu (see Decameron). I hope they'll fix that soon.

The cuisine is authentic and carefully crafted, with dishes that showcase the local area through authentic flavors. Among the specialties we tried, the Francesina deserves an honorable mention: a typical local dish, perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. A culinary experience that combines tradition and passion, absolutely worth trying.

01/07/2025: Oh boy....where do we start? If you're looking for a place to waste two hours of your life while slowly losing faith in the hospitality industry, then congratulations—you've found it. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a host who seemed genuinely annoyed by the inconvenience of guests showing up. She asked us three separate times how many were in our party, and when we kept answering “four,” she bizarrely added, “Oh sorry, I was including myself.” I guess she figured she’d be joining us for dinner? Sadly, she didn’t—she just vanished into a fog of indifference. Now, let's talk about the food… or rather, the eventual arrival of food. A mind-numbing 95 minutes passed before anything edible (and I use that word lightly) hit the table. I’ve aged cheese faster than they brought our entrees. First up, the ricotta-stuffed flowers: aggressively salty, as if the chef confused ricotta with seawater. Bread was delivered twice—each time a mountain of it—perhaps to distract us from the creeping suspicion that dinner might never actually arrive. Spoiler: we eventually wished it hadn’t. And then, the steak. Oh, the steak. It takes true talent to strip a steak of all flavor, texture, and joy—but this place managed it. Tougher than a leather belt and blander than unseasoned tofu, it was easily the worst steak I’ve ever been served in any country, on any continent, during any century. I’ve had better luck at highway gas station diners. When we (politely!) offered some feedback, the owner scoffed. Literally. With the smug confidence of someone who’s been phoning it in for decades, he told us that in 30 years he’s never served a bad steak. He also bizarrely blamed France for our taste buds, suggesting that maybe we expected “too many herbs and flavors” in our meal, as if seasoning a steak were a crime against culinary tradition. For the record: we’re not from France. And we weren’t expecting foie gras flambéed in truffle butter. We just wanted a steak that didn’t feel like biting into a gym mat. The atmosphere was the only redeeming quality, perched charmingly near a piazza—but even that lost its charm as we watched table after table of unhappy diners doing the slow head-turns and wristwatch glances that universally signal: where the hell is our food? Final verdict? Unless your idea of a great night out includes confused staff, flavorless food, condescending owners, and a wait time long enough to grow your own vegetables, do yourself a favor and skip this place. You’ll thank me later when your jaw isn’t sore from chewing through boot leather masquerading as steak.

31/07/2025: Ci siamo fermati per tappa pranzo nel lungo viaggio Nord-Sud. Proprio all'uscita autostradale. Un'ottima alternativa all'autogrill. Spendi un po' di più, ma guadagni in qualità, atmosfera e servizio: chianina e altre carni alla brace buonissime, contorni di verdura della tradizione locale e cantucci fatti dal pasticcere sotto i vostri occhi. Il servizio è efficiente e molto amichevole.
30/07/2025: Un ristorante che sembra per viandanti di passaggio ma in realtà nasconde una vena commerciale importante. Tanta fila che si esaurisce in 20 minuti o meno . Carne molto buona (preso la chianina), ma il consiglio è : non vi fate suggestionare troppo dai camerieri (sempre comunque gentili e cordiali) e scegliete voi. Conto: la carne buona di paga!

04/08/2025: It's been almost 15 years since you were last here... So it's interesting to see if it's still as good as it used to be. The decor is almost as pared down and rustic as before. Only now it's even more simple. It's a shame, it lacks charm. The waiters are friendly, but their manners are very reserved... One must not forget that there are a lot of tourists here, and the mood isn't always great. But the food was, just like back then, good, simple Tuscan cuisine. The prices are reasonable. Considering that this area is teeming with tourists, it was relaxed and pleasant.
26/07/2025: The WORST Dining Experiences in Florence! My friend (a young Asian woman with long, straight black hair) found a short, curled, dark brown hair in her black truffle cream pasta—definitely not hers. She pointed it out right away. The waiter brushed it off and said, “That’s just truffle.” Her friend even picked the hair out with a fork and placed it on the plate edge to show him clearly. Then the chef (or maybe the owner) came over. Instead of taking it seriously, he tried to wipe the hair away with his finger like he was trying to cover it up!! After he wiped off the hair, he looked her in the eye and questioned her, “Where? There’s no hair.” We were all SHOCKED. Nobody said a word. It was only after seeing our silence that he came back and said, unwillingly, “I’ll get you another one.” Still no apology, no explanation, nothing. We all supported our friend, who stayed calm through it all though she couldn’t speak any Italian. She even had a photo of the dish before eating—the hair is clearly visible. The way he treated her—like she didn’t matter—felt incredibly disrespectful. Would the response have been the same if she were older? Or even not Asian? It really made us question their attitude toward younger travelers and people of color. This wasn’t just about finding a hair. It was about how badly the situation was handled. No basic respect, no responsibility. Just denial and blame. If this happened to your friend, how would you want it handled? Think twice before eating here.

24/07/2025: Tourist place - everyone stands in line at the window with wine, only they give everything in plastic cups. We had dinner, the food was quite average - the chicken, it seems, was fried in secondary oil, it was salty, as well as baked potatoes. I would not repeat it again.

23/08/2025: Great little place in Florence! We had the lasagna and another pasta dish which were both delicious. The staff we very friendly and polite and the atmosphere was excellent! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a reasonably priced and good restaurant.
