L'Arco Osteria Caffeteria In Matera

The restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, and we wholeheartedly agree. The food was delicious, and the service was very friendly. The waiters and waitresses were very pleasant and attentive to the customers.

Osteria L’arco was my favorite dining experience in Matera! The food was phenomenal with lots of local dishes to try and the service was the best. The pasta with peppers and ricotta is so far my best pasta in all of Italy! And the chocolate cake with orange and peppers was an amazing combination (I especially loved the cocoa hearts). It was my first dinner as a solo traveler and they treated me well. Grazie L’arco!

Can’t fault this place, absolutely loved it. We didn’t have a table booked and stopped by at peak time for dinner, Antonio (likely the owner) gave us a time to come back to and when we did he had a table ready for us. The menu has many local authentic dishes, even the wine is from the Matera region. The decor Is warm with light music, set within one of the caves. Top quality food, excellent service - attentive, prompt and always polite. Highly recommend!

For us, this restaurant was both... a place where the food is exceptional and where you feel welcomed like family. We were greeted every day with rare kindness and care. Antonio, the owner, demonstrated genuine hospitality, making us feel like special guests from the very first moment and attentively accompanying us throughout our stay. The food? Simply exceptional. Every dish was a pleasure, always meeting—if not exceeding—expectations. You can sense the quality, passion, and respect for food. But what truly made this experience special were the people. Giorgia and Claudio are two extraordinary people, capable of putting a smile on our faces every evening, even after long, tiring days. Always available, smiling, and genuinely welcoming. It's not just a restaurant where you eat wonderfully, it's a place where human connection is created. And that makes all the difference.
