We arrived by chance and luck, after a misadventure at another nearby restaurant. We were greeted by the owner's smile, who immediately showed us great hospitality. The restaurant, though a bit hidden, is truly welcoming, with attention to every detail: you can see the creativity and passion. We ordered sandwiches and bruschetta, and it's impossible to say which was better. Everything was excellent, prepared with care and with the highest quality ingredients. The price was very fair for the quality we received. A pleasant surprise that reconnected us with the hospitality of Matera.

There are places that are amazing per se. The location they are at seems apparently to compensate anything else and therefore the food, the service, the beverages are considered accessories and left as a lower priority. Not enough for me sorry. This is why I loved this place cause everything is a priority. The place is the strong point , the food and wine are even stronger but what makes it unique is its soul and its soul are Serena and Giovanni, absolute professionals. You feel extremely well attendeded in a spontaneous and well ment way. Discrete presence. Lovely conversation if requested. My congrats to them who give life to a beautiful place without which would just be a place well done!

A lovely little bar tucked away in a side street in Matera. Good evening wines and good beer. We didn't try the charcuterie boards, but they looked tempting.

07/05/2026: Large portions, but the food didn't look very appealing. Your table number is called from the kitchen when something is ready for you. When you're finished, you are expected to take everything back inside and pay... Moderately enthusiastic.

04/05/2026: My husband, our two children, and I dined at this restaurant last night after a busy day spent walking among the Sassi of Matera. We were greeted by kind and attentive staff, with prompt service. The pizza was excellent, the fries were special, and the "sausage of the beggar" was delicious. My husband and I ordered it first, followed by a portion of Van Gogh bruschetta—exceptional! The owner, Bartolomeo, was exceptionally kind, making us feel at home and pampered. Before leaving, I confided in him about my passion for Vincent Van Gogh. He accompanied me into the dining room, which, surprisingly, was decorated with wonderful reproductions of Van Gogh's paintings. He proudly told me about them and showed me the wines, which bear artistic labels. What more can I say?! Between the deliciousness of the dishes, the beauty of the setting, and the owner's extraordinary kindness, it was an experience that left us with a wonderful feeling of well-being! If we ever return to Matera, we'll definitely eat here, with the pleasure of greeting Bartolomeo and savoring more of his delicacies!!!! Ps: fair prices and generous portions.
