04/05/2026: Highly recommended. We had the most delicious lunch. Just the right size. High quality. Their lamb was extremely well cooked - choose potatoes if you are extra hungry 😉

03/05/2026: Just to echo all the other excellent reviews for this establishment. We booked here for a Saturday night. Lovely food and friendly service. Our bill for a shared primo piatto, two mains and a bottle of wine came to €83. They helpfully split the risotto primo piatto onto two plates. Left a tip in cash as they can't take those on cards sadly. Only a minor cover of €2 a head for their excellent bread. The brown / rye bread was fantastic. 100% recommended.

11/06/2026: We came for lunch. We didn't need to book but there was a large table of 20 reserved so maybe best to if you can. Service was good and the staff understood English. We ordered a capretz platter to start, a capretz burger and a Mexican burger washed down with a small beer, water and an ice tea. It was quite warm but there is plenty of shade to cool down in. It's a short walk up a steep hill from the road but worth it.

11/06/2026: One of the best options to eat a meal in Barga and surrounding areas. Capretz offers traditional Italian food but also has other culinary options including Argentinian, American, and Mexican to name a few. I ordered the steak and my wife ordered the goulash, both were amazing. This was one of the best meals we had in Italy. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

17/05/2026: The location is fantastic, right on a beautiful square with a lovely atmosphere. There was a singer performing and an antique market taking place, which made it especially enjoyable to sit outside in the sun and soak everything in. The aperitivo was good, and the staff was pleasant. The food, however, was disappointing and quite overpriced for the quality offered. I don’t regret trying, but considering the incredible food scene in this city, there are definitely better options available.

09/05/2026: A fantastic experience! The food was exceptional, made with top-quality ingredients expertly prepared. But the real added value was the owner: an extremely qualified and knowledgeable person, able to recommend the best dishes and matching wines, all with a rare warmth and touch. You feel at home, yet pampered like in a Michelin-starred restaurant. We will definitely be back.

13/06/2026: We were in Viareggio for the June 2nd long weekend, and had the pleasure of dining at La Barchina, enjoying freshly fried fish. A highly recommended place.

12/06/2026: Quick and easy dinner along the Viareggio harbor. Really good fried food, crispy and not too greasy. The shrimp and calamari were superb, but the cod was even better!! The girls working there were kind and friendly, truly lovely. Highly recommended!!

06/06/2026: First time at the new place, and I can only compliment both the location and the food. We need more places like this where even a celiac can feel normal. Well done! An added bonus is the display of pastries and croissants: a gluten-free breakfast that's excellent, even the next day!

02/06/2026: The fried fish and tuna were top-notch, so much so that we returned two nights in a row. The wine selection was good and the prices were more than fair. The waiter, whose name we don't know but who was known as "Vale," was attentive and entertaining, always discreetly present... One of those employees to be reckoned with. Every city needs a "Ponteria" and every restaurant a "Vale."

28/04/2026: Definitely worth mentioning in the Fuori Casello restaurants, as it's practically right next to the Lucca Ovest exit. What can I say other than to go for a lunch break, but if you can, make a reservation, as the place is small, as they say in those parts. The dishes chosen from the menu are excellent, with just the right proportions that don't weigh you down, especially if you then have to continue your journey. The only thing I'd say is that they should be more attentive to the service, as sometimes orders slip, or rather, they forget. From what I've seen, if they fix this too, they'll be great. They're already doing great!

23/04/2026: Simple atmosphere, good food, and generous courtesy. Notice the care they took to prepare a simple salad! I was lucky, because even though I hadn't booked, they sat me down. I returned for lunch, with the fixed-price menu, but everything was already booked.

07/06/2026: A place worth recommending on Pietrasanta's culinary map. We haven't eaten fish this good in a long time. We waited about 20 minutes for our dish. Sea bass baked in salt and vegetables. Simple, but delicious. Served with a local white wine. The portion is sufficient for two hungry people. I definitely recommend it!

08/05/2026: The food itself was really good, especially the dessert, perhaps a little heavy but still delicious. I wouldn't recommend the mixed fried fish at all. As for the service, the staff is extremely kind and helpful, a little slow but everything was fine. At first glance, the pizzeria looks small from the outside, but it's actually very, very large. The bathroom is spotless, with toilet paper available whether you use it or have a spare. Overall, it's a really good pizzeria.

01/06/2026: After many years, we had lunch for a special occasion at this long-established and renowned restaurant in Lucca's historic center. We had a wonderful time; the place is as beautiful as I remembered, and the typical Lucchese dishes are delicious and beautifully presented. Excellent!
