10/06/2026: In the summer, the restaurant offers outdoor tables in a romantic garden, very kind staff and delicious dishes, the meatballs they serve as an appetizer are delicious!!!

07/07/2026: The atmosphere was certainly good. Partly thanks to another table where one of the guests started singing. The location was also pretty okay. I was welcomed well and was allowed to choose whether to sit in the air conditioning, with a fan breeze, or without anything. Wine is at least by the half bottle, which was too much for me alone. I was allowed to taste first, though, so I was sure to choose a good one. Great! For dinner, I chose the pici carbonara. In my opinion, the pasta tasted too much like flour, and the meat was mainly fatty. Who am I to pass judgment on this as a foreigner, but that is how I experienced it. The damper on the atmosphere came at the checkout: although the prices were reasonable, on top of VAT and the usual coperto, a 10% ‘aumento’ was also charged. It is not clear what this is, and I didn't see anything about it on the menu displayed either. There might be something about it on the menu, but I didn't notice it. Such tricks to charge more always make it less enjoyable. I only realized it afterwards, but I didn't feel like arguing anymore. What's asked is asked and what's given is given...

31/05/2026: The place is absolutely characteristic, it is worth even just seeing it, then Mr. Marco and his wife are fantastic people, welcoming, friendly, and always very helpful, dinner is a fixed menu "Quel che c'è c'e", everything excellent and quality, thank you Marco, it was a great pleasure to be your guests!!!!!

01/07/2026: We visited Buca di Sant'Antonio tonight and wow what an experience. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by sweet and welcoming waiters who served bubbles and small appetizers. We ordered Carpacio with truffle and parmigiano and Crostino, ragu and raviolo and finally tiramisu. We have never tasted such good food. Sweet, fun and attentive waiters and reasonable prices. Best money we have ever spent. Thank you very much. We will be back very soon ❤️

17/05/2026: The location is fantastic, right on a beautiful square with a lovely atmosphere. There was a singer performing and an antique market taking place, which made it especially enjoyable to sit outside in the sun and soak everything in. The aperitivo was good, and the staff was pleasant. The food, however, was disappointing and quite overpriced for the quality offered. I don’t regret trying, but considering the incredible food scene in this city, there are definitely better options available.

11/06/2026: One of the best options to eat a meal in Barga and surrounding areas. Capretz offers traditional Italian food but also has other culinary options including Argentinian, American, and Mexican to name a few. I ordered the steak and my wife ordered the goulash, both were amazing. This was one of the best meals we had in Italy. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

11/06/2026: We came for lunch. We didn't need to book but there was a large table of 20 reserved so maybe best to if you can. Service was good and the staff understood English. We ordered a capretz platter to start, a capretz burger and a Mexican burger washed down with a small beer, water and an ice tea. It was quite warm but there is plenty of shade to cool down in. It's a short walk up a steep hill from the road but worth it.

21/05/2026: Excellent restaurant, excellent ingredients. The cuisine is prepared with creativity and originality. I dined there two evenings this week. The service is perfect, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended!

01/06/2026: Delicious ice cream, very kind and friendly staff, all lactose-free flavors are delicious, especially the gianduia. For someone who is used to always eating the same flavors, you have a huge choice here, I recommend it to everyone.

07/07/2026: It's a real shame, we had a great time until it was time to pay, and only then did we find out we had to pay a €4 cover charge for a glass and a half-plate (which was good). Wow, I think you should have mentioned this beforehand: €43 for a gin and tonic and a glass of bubbly, with a gazpacho. Now... €43???? I don't even see that in Siena or Rome, but I really don't know what to say. Basically, the business model of this place is to charge tourists a €4 cover charge? Are you sure that's a good idea? Nice cutlery, huh, but €4???? So, €21.50 per person for an aperitivo, and now I'm no longer hungry.

05/07/2026: Love this simple, elegant wine bar. Simple and delicious food. Broad wine list with excellent options. If weather allows, recommend the outdoor patio in back.

07/06/2026: We had a wonderful and, above all, delicious evening at Da Rosolo. Tucked away in a courtyard (don't be put off by the garbage bins from the street cleaning; there was no smell), it has plenty of small tables, including indoor seating. We started with homemade pasta with sea bass and spaghetti, followed by Rivella with polenta and chicken with beans (seasoned with sage and butter, very flavorful). The food and drinks arrived quickly and were excellent. The staff is very courteous and attentive. We'd gladly return, and you can even drop in spontaneously on a Saturday evening with a small group :)
