15/06/2025: Last night and it's not the first time on a Saturday absolutely shameful they are of a frightening disorganization after three quarters of an hour they still hadn't come to the table in fact they had gone to others who came after us .. finally this pizza arrives and that is good and I know I won't tell you how much time passed from pizza to dessert and then I say if you can't manage with so many people take less and don't do takeaway on Saturday but above all given the numbered tables divide them up and take them all the way to the end that is not really the way

10/06/2025: Decent experience, but with some reservations I had lunch at Ristorante Olivo, right in the center of Lucca, attracted by the central location and the tranquility of the place. The environment is actually pleasant and quiet, ideal for those looking for a break away from the chaos, even if you are in a very busy area. The service was punctual and attentive in its manner, but overall a bit cold. The waiters were correct and helpful, but that warm and personal welcome that makes you feel truly welcome was missing. This detail, as secondary as it may seem, has a great impact on the overall perception of the experience. As for the cuisine, the dishes are well prepared and the food is good. You can perceive a certain attention in the choice of ingredients and in the presentation. However, the quality-price ratio leaves some doubts: the bill was rather high compared to what we actually received, both in terms of quantity and originality of the proposals. Overall, Ristorante Olivo can be a good choice for a quiet lunch in the city center, but there are aspects – such as a warmer atmosphere and a better balance of prices – that could be improved to make the experience truly memorable.

10/06/2025: We weren’t planning to eat here—we were just passing by and the atmosphere pulled us in. It felt like a good risk, and it was. Every single thing we ordered was excellent. We tried different seafood pastas and fish dishes, and everything had depth and balance. The tiramisu was unforgettable—probably the best I’ve had, and I’ve had plenty across Italy. We ended up coming back the same evening for dinner. It was even better. More fish, more pasta, another perfect tiramisu. If we’d had one more day in Lucca, we’d have gone back again without a second thought.

06/06/2025: The seafood carbonara was plentiful but nothing special, considering it is considered the excellence of the place (dry mussels, full of cream, I would say heavy and cloying... Better a rock), appetizer samples seemed like leftovers. The best was the dessert and the fried food from the next table seemed good but I still have to understand all these excellent reviews for the food. Go around Viareggio more even at the same cheap prices, there are better places to eat.

08/07/2025: We arrived almost by chance on a Monday for lunch. Even though it was late (2:30 PM), the young, smiling staff welcomed us. We had a wonderful lunch, sampling typical Tuscan dishes. I highly recommend it!

14/05/2025: The food at Marietto is superb: above all, the very rare donkey stew! Try it, perhaps by letting us know a couple of days in advance (it may not always be available). Another specialty, but winter: the seven boiled meats. It's really worth it.

Each dish is taken care of in the smallest details, both in the presentation and in the flavors: very fresh ingredients, impeccable cooking and a perfect balance between oriental spices and Mediterranean delicacy.

09/05/2025: Hokra is a wonderful discovery for those who love Asian cuisine made with care and passion. It is not the classic cheap or "all you can eat" restaurant: here you enter a world where every detail is thought of, from the impeccable service to the high quality of the ingredients. Chef Massimo manages to convey not only authentic flavours, but also culture: the description of the dishes and the techniques used makes the experience even more engaging. Each course is studied, well presented and surprising on the palate. I truly believe that Hokra can contribute to making refined and authentic Asian cuisine known and appreciated in Italy. Highly recommended for those looking for a different gastronomic experience than usual, with a very high level of quality.

29/06/2025: For years, every time I pass through Altopascio (LU) I stop here for dinner. Always high quality, courtesy and Tuscany enclosed in a garden in summer and between stone walls in winter. Wild boar cooked for hours super good! The owner always welcomes you with a smile

06/06/2025: I have already been to this place several times and for me it is the best in the Lucca-Capannori area. First of all, the interiors where the green color prevails already convey a sense of great calm and the atmosphere is welcoming, you feel at home. The quality of the food (the photos speak for themselves) is excellent and the staff is made up of a few people who, however, take great care of every detail; this can sometimes cause a little slowness in the service but when the dishes arrive you understand that it is really worth it. If you want to eat well and spend a relaxed dinner or lunch in an intimate atmosphere I highly recommend it!

02/06/2025: For those who have visited many sushi restaurants in the area, you will surely notice the superiority of this sushi. Excellent quality that is not at all a given in today's all you can eat. Good fish and very well-prepared dishes. Lower price than average, especially at dinner. I would say uramaki is the strong point, but everything else is no less. The only criticism I make is about the soy, I found it too salty and with a strange flavor and I really hope they can change this, but for the rest everything was perfect. I have only been once but I will return, also given the kindness of the staff.

01/07/2025: Some of the best seafood we've ever had! Very fun place, friendly and helpful staff, and pretty good value for the quality of the food. I told them they need to open a Washington DC location some day!!!
