29/09/2025: Me and my partner were staying in Puglia for a week from the 19th of September, staying one night near Polignano a Mare, 3 nights in Ostuni, and 3 nights here in Castro - we were most excited about this hotel as our friend recommended it to us. Starting off positively, the hotel grounds were beautiful and the location idyllic. The staff were all so lovely, kind, and personable. We were left a little disappointed by the service however. When we arrived we were told someone would fetch our bags from the car and bring them to our room, and after waiting over an hour we ended up having to get them ourselves. We were also told there’s a WhatsApp number to text food/drink orders to from the pool (it looked like the pool bar was closed so maybe why) but when we asked another member of staff for this number they were confused and said they’ve never heard of that before. Having to order food and drink from the pool felt like a mission, climbing up all the steps to then wait at the bar or reception which was mostly unstaffed - then waiting over an hour and a half for lunch and a drink. Not really ideal sadly. I’m sure this was mostly because we visited slightly out of season but I feel like the service should remain the same regardless. We got the standard double room and it was very, very basic. There wasn’t WiFi and when we asked at reception they gave us our own WiFi box which was strange and should’ve been told upon checking in. I’d also recommend adding tea/coffee making facilites to the rooms, there were also only six hangers in the wardrobe and no draws to put the rest of our clothes. I think a lot of updating would make this place a haven. Dinner was (in our opinion) overly expensive for the small portions we had, so we left feeling hungry and decided to eat at surrounding restaurants for the rest of the trip. Onto more positives - breakfast was a big highlight, such a feast! Although does finish early (10 am) so wouldn’t recommend a lie in. And the views from the terrace at breakfast were just divine. The pool was the most tranquil place to relax, we did go to visit the private beach but it was a bit choppy and cold for us this time of year! The hotel also had tennis courts we didn’t have time to use, and a movie theatre outside but not sure how that works as nothing was ever playing? Again, the staff were truly lovely, I hope to come back again and have a better experience with the service and maybe book a better room.

24/09/2025: The location of the resort is truly unique – directly on the cliffs with stunning sea views from many areas, whether from the breakfast terrace or the pool. The friendliness of the staff is also noteworthy; minor issues were resolved immediately. We were less impressed with the suite we booked: The furnishings are quite basic, lacking storage space and comfortable seating, and the patio furniture appears basic. The air conditioning also didn't work reliably and was a bit difficult to operate. Overall, this gives the impression that the resort is in need of renovation and modernization in some areas. All in all, however, the great location outweighs any drawbacks, so the stay will remain a positive memory.

30/09/2025: At lunch, only two different pizzas, otherwise a good menu. No wait time, very good service, and a great atmosphere under an arbor or covered terrace. Bravo

26/09/2025: The staff are extremely rude and urge their customers to hurry up and consume their food. They also rudely remove the sugar, making the food inedible.

28/07/2025: Esperienza culinaria indimenticabile! Sono stata in questo ristorante per la prima volta e ne sono rimasta entusiasta. L’atmosfera è accogliente, curata nei minimi dettagli, perfetta sia per una cena romantica che per una serata tra amici. Il servizio è stato impeccabile: personale gentile, attento ma mai invadente. Il cibo? Semplicemente eccellente. Ingredienti freschissimi, presentazione raffinata e sapori bilanciati. Ogni portata è stata una scoperta, davvero straordinario! Rapporto qualità-prezzo giustissimo per il livello offerto. Tornerò sicuramente. Consigliatissimo!

24/07/2025: Purtroppo un' esperienza non positiva! ho provato a cenare e dopo essermi accomodato al tavolo prenotato ho dovuto chiamare il giovane cameriere per aprire la mia ordinazione chiedendo consiglio sul pescato del giorno e chiedendo di orientare la cena sul cotto e non sul crudo, mi viene consigliato UNA bruschetta di stracciatella e gamberetti come antipasto e DUE paccheri con rana pescatrice come primo ed il secondo da valutare con calma, in più un semplice rosato da quasi una quindicina di euro. Ok! Nell' attesa il tavolo di fianco fuma sigarette come se non ci fosse un domani (la buona educazione dei cari camerieri accaniti per i loro validi motivi a questo tavolo avrebbero tra " dovuto placare questo continuo fumare) Arriva la bruschetta solo stracciatella i gamberetti quasi a dire inesistenti Ok pazienza! Arrivano i primi credetemi a me piace la cucina "cucinare" ed ho vissuto molti anni della mia vita nella ristorazione. Però purtroppo trattasi di paccheri al pomodoro con una pescatrice scotta, quasi pappina che ho lasciato nel piatto senza finire di mangiare. Al chè mi alzo chiamo il giovane e gentile cameriere e chiedo di andare via perché stava andando tutto male "in modo molto silenzioso ed educato" dichiarando che non ero assolutamente soddisfatto del mangiare e dei fastidiosi "turchi" fumatori del tavolo accanto stop. Giustamente si intromette nel discorso una persona forse il proprietario da dietro il banco del pesce (ci mancherebbe...) gli spiego il tutto anche a lui sempre in educazione e sottovoce nella sala. Mi viene data risposta che il pesce è fresco e non è colpa loro che i clienti fumano. Ci credo! non lo metto in dubbio! però la qualità come dice Lei, va saputa preparare, per l amore di Dio può capitare un piccolo intoppo, ma io da buon ristoratore e buon salentino avrei rimediato in maniera elegante e superiore. Al semplice e quasi volgare alzare i toni nel locale e sbattermi il pos in faccia Di 100 EURO PER UNA BRUSCHETTA DUE PRIMI ED UNA BOTTIGLIA DI 14 ERUO UNA RECENZIONE PERSONALE POI MAGARI CI STA IL PASSANTE TURISTA DI TURNO CHE AFFAMATO MANGIA E TACE. Ragazzi si può dire quello che si vuole mille ragioni e mille torti! Mi dispiace ma non è così che si tratta un cliente che ha una lamentela o un problema. Poi se si lavora sul passante la qualità non ha valore. PURTROPPO NON LO CONSIGLIO 'DICIAMO' che nella confusione non ho avuto lo scontrino ma solo la ricevuta pos che allego POSSO AVERE LO SCONTRINO PER CAPIRE I DETTAGLI SONO CURIOSO GRAZIE. Non dovrebbe essere un problema averlo, dato che ho "cenato" stasera Ps: Ho dovuto terminare la mia cena in un altro locale.

22/11/2025: Since "La Bontè" opened, my breakfast hasn't been the same! As soon as you walk in the door, the smell of freshly baked bread envelops you like a caress; it's impossible to resist. Simply put, it's more than a bakery: it's a little corner of happiness where every product seems made with passion and dedication. Thank you and congratulations.

05/09/2025: I was thrilled with the friendliness and cleanliness of the place, as well as the truly divine food. All the staff were wonderful...a special mention to Francesca, the professional! I will definitely be returning to this fantastic place.

04/09/2025: A terrible professional experience. Toward the end of my meal, which I had eaten in the dining area in front of the restaurant, a gust of wind blew debris from the roof over the structure that housed the bar and kitchen onto my plate. Finding myself forced to dispose of what I would have preferred to eat in the trash, I turned to the young man, a curly-haired brown man with glasses, at the register, trying to report the incident to see if there was any way to resolve my situation and get compensation for my loss. The response was as mocking as the employee's smirk: he claimed he didn't know what to say to me. Given the boy's persistent inappropriate behavior, as he continued to mock me, and to prevent the unfortunate incident from escalating, I angrily left the restaurant, found the restaurant's contact information on Google, and spoke to the owner to explain what had happened. He, declaring himself willing to reimburse me for the cost of lunch, very bluntly tells me I should have asked for him right away. I, in turn, conclude by declining the offer but advising him to choose better who he hires. This country of ours is sadly full of untapped value and quality. Too often, business owners prefer to surround themselves with scarce but inexpensive staff rather than invest in the value that awaits the right opportunity. I do not recommend this place: those who don't invest in quality and professional attention don't deserve customers and don't deserve to stay in the market.

04/09/2025: We went for an aperitivo. The prices and food were fantastic, with huge portions. The girl who served us was super kind and friendly. We didn't even have time to take a photo of the platter, it was all so captivating.

20/08/2025: I've been in Puglia for a week and I have to say that this was the best place I've eaten, beautiful view, very kind and welcoming staff, fair prices, I recommend the peppered mussels, excellent like nowhere else, even the fried fish, congratulations to everyone, a truly excellent place

18/10/2025: €2 coffee, rude owner. Having a bar in the right spot isn't enough; you also need to know how to do it.

11/10/2025: Service first class, amazing home made lasagna. Wine selection was very interesting local and international options. Pier has an encyclopaedic knowledge of wines and is just such a lovely man.

18/09/2025: We stopped here on our way back from the beach; we discovered it by chance. We tried the trio of bombette and loved them. The wine and wine-based desserts (like little boats with fig jam) were also very good. The layout and interior were also very nice. The staff were friendly. We had a great time.

27/08/2025: We're in Maglie on vacation and were looking for a pub. We ordered a mixed platter to start, a meat platter, and a hamburger bun. Everything was good enough, but for our personal taste, both the fried foods and the fries were overcooked and dry. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff were kind and helpful. The waiter was top notch.

14/10/2025: I worked in this WONDERFUL place Massimo and like a father to me still today the 2 brothers Stefano and Carlo 2 exceptional guys have always treated me well and today if I am this type of bartender it is only thanks to them thanks for everything recommended place

15/09/2025: Very disappointing experience. The pasta was so over-salted it was NOT edible. I mentioned it to the staff, but nothing was done—no apology, no replacement, and we were still charged in full. For the price and reputation, I expected much better service and quality. Stay away.
