05/04/2026: Beautiful location, gorgeous dining room. The only shame is the lack of cleanliness... We were served dirty glasses and plates... Not to mention the ice with flies in it. It's a real shame because the restaurant deserves a lot; they should pay more attention. We won't be returning. I'm truly sorry because we had a lot of fun with the entertainment, the waiters were very kind! But they should improve on hygiene!!

20/08/2025: Unfortunately we had a very negative experience. We asked for a table for an aperitif on the ricotta terrace and they arrived completely wrong. For example, in mine there was no tequila, it was completely non-alcoholic. Unfortunately, we realized this when we were drinking. There was nothing to accompany it, not even a tray of crisps. We were told that bringing the aperitifs to the terrace was too much effort. This information was obviously not told to us beforehand.

18/08/2025: Terrible place, if you want to call it that. The most watered-down American food ever. The most decent, and also good, thing was the sampling plate, which obviously costs 25 euros, but at least it was good; in the end, we had dinner with that.

27/07/2025: We've been regulars for years, and we've always had a good experience, probably because until now we've always dealt with Mr. Vito, an excellent and always very kind host. Last night, however, we were "lucky" enough to encounter a rude waiter. We'd simply asked to be moved from one table to another, as the one assigned to us was too close to some plants and had no air circulation, given the sweltering heat. After much insistence, the arrogant waiter was about to grant us our request, until the owner intervened, informing us in an arrogant and nervous tone that he, not us, decided on the table assignments. Ours was merely a request, not an imposition. We left, because courtesy and respect come first. We obviously won't be returning.

22/03/2026: This is the third time I've had the buffet for so many people... delicious, on time, filling, plentiful... reliable staff... congratulations ❤️

01/01/2026: I hired catering for New Year's Eve. Basically bread balls, bread croquettes, bread pitta, lasagna from a children's cafeteria, bland and tasteless. Maybe potatoes are expensive in Levanto. Pitiful and unfair.

17/09/2025: We had two really delicious Pucce. Compliments for the service, the menu, the delicious dishes, and the location in the middle of Gallipoli. Excellent all-round. 💯

30/08/2025: While strolling through the center of Gallipoli, we stopped for lunch at La Meridiana Café... and what a wonderful discovery! I decided to try the puccia and I must say I was amazed. The bread was simply perfect: crumbly, light, with an authentic flavor, and a blend of the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. Every bite was an explosion of authentic flavors, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. My wife was also thrilled: she ordered the bruschetta, and each one was better than the last. Simple but carefully selected ingredients, crispy bread, and balanced toppings. Truly divine! To finish on a high note, a coffee granita with homemade cream: creamy, intense, and refreshing. A real treat that left us smiling. A welcoming place, with kind and attentive staff. An experience that combines Salento tradition with excellent quality. A must-try. Highly recommended!

08/09/2025: The place is quite secluded but close to the beach, but the place itself is very basic and not very clean. The food was homemade and very good, but when we paid, they charged us whatever they wanted. They don't have a price list and don't give you a receipt or anything. The staff were friendly, but I think they only gave us the money because we were tourists and didn't speak the language. I don't recommend it at all, or at least ask about the prices before you start eating.

07/09/2025: The bar seemed nice, and we ordered a sharing menu. This was questioned several times, and we confirmed it. We received the primi in a small portion, followed by a large plate of secundi. In the end, he charged us for two full menus, even though we only had one and had only ordered one. We felt ripped off!

14/09/2025: Simple place but excellent food, exceptional fish soup!...

15/08/2025: Arrived at 1:30 PM, left at 3:10 PM. In 1 hour and 40 minutes, we received two simple spaghetti with sauce and three cutlets. The appetizers arrived at the end and, what's more, incomplete. The place was almost empty, so the wait was pointless. When the cutlets arrived, we found a hair under the cutlet and another plate full of dust. When we reported this to the owner, she even claimed she was right, and we were accused of having the hair on ours, even though I was wearing a hat, so it's impossible for the hair to be mine. Terrible service; one of the waiters walked by the table with his shirt up and half his belly hanging out, which isn't a nice sight to see at lunch. Furthermore, we asked for pizzas and were told there were no pizza chefs. Then, when we asked for any kind of sparkling wine, they told us there was none, so we had to make do with both food and drinks. The cost of this lunch was €100 for: 2 spaghetti with tomato sauce, 3 cutlets with chips, 1 plate of pittule and 1 plate of croquettes (not eaten because they smelled and tasted horrible) a more than excessive price for the service experience, hairs on the plates, etc... A restaurant to absolutely avoid and ABOVE ALL TO CLOSE.

11/12/2025: For me, great place to grab a last pasticcioto before train leaves Lecce, along with coffee and anything else. Crowded, esp. with morning tradies, but staff was attentive and efficient. Order at cassa first. Cases full of all kinds of pastries Leccese. I took my coffee out to the terrace tables and watched the foot traffic. I found quality, prices, all in line with old cafes eleswhere in Lecce (pasticcioto+caffe=€3.5), and less than old town center (€5), if, I understand, higher than domestic travellers might be used to at home.

02/11/2025: As for the products, it's fair to give them three stars, because the rating is average. As for the ambiance, and even more so the service, it's best to draw a veil over them! The place, in fact, besides being very dated (which in itself may mean little or nothing), appears to be clearly lacking in basic hygiene standards (and I'm limiting myself to the visible, not wanting to imagine what might be going on in the back room/workshop). Service is always coordinated, so to speak, by a man who perpetually (summer and winter) wears a straw hat, displaying an unspeakable rudeness that I've never encountered at this level in other public establishments. The prices are those of a grand café, which is actually pitiful. This gentleman, a candidate in the recent municipal elections and obviously NOT elected, is fortunate to have very little competition. Outside the station, there's only one other small café, which does what it can. Last note: until a few months ago, there were two 24-hour vending machines at the station, which worked very well and took away a portion of the bar's customers. Well, from one day to the next, they were removed and never replaced. This remains an inexplicable, or perhaps... very explainable, fact! This bar is highly discouraged! 👎

01/11/2025: We've eaten at this bar, but we've never tried such a pitiful place: lousy coffee, lousy crepes, dirty tables. What can I say? Don't come.

01/11/2025: €2 for a burnt coffee and €4 for a crepe "with Nutella" that was practically empty. I wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy.

27/10/2025: Cala Marin Bar was a huge disappointment. It's the bar attached to the lido, so you'd expect slightly higher prices than average, but what's truly disappointing is the poor quality of the food served. The food offering is very limited, and what little there is is sloppily prepared and poorly executed. We tried a few items on the menu, and unfortunately, almost everything was inedible. Dry sandwiches, less-than-fresh ingredients, and no attention to presentation or flavor. Everything seemed prepackaged and hastily reheated, with no regard for the final quality. The price-to-service ratio was simply unacceptable. The only positive exception was the rustico leccese, which at €3 was at least decent compared to the rest. However, one decent item isn't enough to save the overall experience. The service is slow and inattentive, with long waits even when there are no customers. Cala Marin Bar seems to thrive solely on its location, but it's completely lacking in attention and professionalism. I don't recommend it, and I don't think we'll return. There are much better options in the area.

21/09/2025: We visited a beachside bar in Italy as a group of six gay friends, and unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. When we ordered tequila with salt and lime, the waiter realized we were gay and made a rather offensive remark, saying that “salt and lime is a lady’s thing, not for men.” He then refused to bring the accompaniments we asked for. This kind of attitude is unacceptable and shows a level of prejudice we did not expect to encounter. So here’s a heads-up to other LGBTQIA+ customers looking for a welcoming environment: sadly, this place did not treat us with the respect everyone deserves.

06/09/2025: It is not possible to pay the additional service, even if we are talking about one euro, just because the bartender had the foresight to bring us the beers to the table, without even the glass, exorbitant prices and endless wait, to order I had to ask the waiter if I could order.

25/08/2025: Interminable wait, cold food (a potato croquette and half a pizza), inedible, I'd say. Two euros for service charge, what? Two plastic cups? The service charge wasn't even listed on the menu. Despite my complaints, the only response I received was... I'll tell the owners.

13/10/2025: Tasty food, this is my third time there, and I've always had a great experience with the seafood tourist menu. The linguine with scampi and shrimp cream and the grilled swordfish were delicious. The seafood salad was tender and well-seasoned. Also noteworthy are the generous portions at a great price. The place was spotless, with impeccable restrooms. Friendly staff.

24/09/2025: A pathetic salad, a completely burnt focaccia. At 5 euros, they don't present the wine list and... they recommend charging 25 euros for a bottle of very common wine, to be avoided.
