19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

31/05/2025: Place not suitable for vegetarians/vegans. Entered with enthusiasm, left with disappointment. I read "100% vegan line" and then I discover that the vegan burgers are cooked on the same plate as the meat. No, it's not a joke. I think it's right to point out that offering a vegan line also implies avoiding contamination, otherwise we can't talk about truly vegan dishes. It's a question of respect for those who have chosen a vegan lifestyle for ethical, environmental or health reasons.

09/09/2025: We wanted to try some truly authentic food, away from the tourist hotspots. Our expectations were far exceeded. Friendly staff, good and patient advice, and delicious pizzas. And of course, there are always some complainers. In any case, we enjoyed our meal and will be back.

07/09/2025: The restaurant and pizzeria is located in a charming little square in front of the 1595 Duomo. The manager and staff are very helpful and kind. The traditional first courses are very tasty and delicious. The quality and price are appreciated.

02/11/2025: A friend and I ordered two Cosmopolitan cocktails, but they served us glasses that tasted only of bitters and gin. The taste was truly undrinkable, so much so that we couldn't drink them. Sadly, seven euros wasted.

13/09/2025: This place was recommended to me and I left disappointed. Octopus was cold and covered with beetroot and some sort of pesto. Waiter chew his chewing gum loudly and had his mobile in a pocket with a match on or something like that. (Loud) Ah, so many nice places around. I will not be back any time soon.

31/08/2025: We had already been to this restaurant with a positive experience but in the change of name and management something did not work, we had asked for a table in a sheltered position due to the presence of elderly people but unfortunately they did not give us a table as per our request, we asked for fried food and they arrived but they were terrible after a long wait we had to call the waiter for the orders, limited menu with little choice, an experience definitely not to be repeated

16/07/2025: Cena ECCELLENTE . Agriturismo immerso nel verde della campagna sulla litoranea a sud di Otranto. Cibo genuino, del territorio e di qualità ottima. Sapori autentici in piatti presentati davvero bene. Porzioni abbondanti e rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo! Complimenti ai giovani ma già capacissimi ragazzi della cucina e ai gentilissimi titolari. Esperienza da ripetere! Consigliatissimo

25/10/2025: We had dinner with friends, booking through The Fork app, which gave us a great discount. The food was reasonably priced, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. On a negative note: Saturday night at 9:15 PM, they started turning off the TV and music and closing the doors while we were still chatting and sipping our ordered bottle of wine! As we headed to the register, we heard burps coming from the other room... a shame, we could have ended the evening differently! The waiter and staff were very courteous and helpful!

09/09/2025: What can I say, thanks to Agata the baker, we discovered, unfortunately, fourth place on the penultimate day of the holidays, already booked for tomorrow evening. What can I say, Daniele the owner makes you feel at ease straight away and the food is exquisite.

24/08/2025: Unbelievable. Abhorrent. We had booked this place for a family pizza, without too many expectations, simply to spend a quiet evening. It was me, my husband, our children, and my parents. I should also point out that we are locals and that my father knows the owner. What happened, however, is beyond all imagination. I'll overlook the quality of the food, which is questionable, but all of that pales in comparison to what happened. During dinner, we pointed out errors in the service: dishes forgotten (or, rather, never noted on the order), others served in a random and inappropriate order. A disappointing experience, but the worst came when we were leaving: as I was leaving, the young waiter saw fit to shamefully address me behind my back, a behavior I won't report here as it's not permitted by Google's policies, rightfully so. To be addressed like that just for asking for a plate of orecchiette for my little one, when his cutlet had never been served? Unbelievable. I still find it hard to believe that such a scene could happen in a restaurant. There's no excuse for inexperience, youth, or any other reason to justify such offensive and unacceptable behavior. It would have taken very little: to acknowledge the mistakes and simply apologize. After all, mistakes can happen. Instead, what remains is a horrifying, embarrassing, and illogical episode. Without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. I hope the owners take serious action and firmly condemn such behavior. I repeat: Unbelievable. Abhorrent.

31/08/2025: We spent two unforgettable weeks. The apartment is truly comfortable, clean, and meticulously maintained. It's just steps from Nardò's historic center. We felt right at home, thanks in part to the owners' helpfulness and kindness.

01/10/2025: The proteins here are honest. Maybe even too much so. And that's fine. Grilled meat without frills: the right cuts, perfectly cooked, generous portions. Direct flavor, lively heat, just enough salt. No special effects: you come here for the meat, period. Friendly service, fast pace, spartan but clean atmosphere. Warm bread, two basic side dishes, honest house wine. Fair prices for what you put on your plate. Important note: watch out for Tito... he bites 😅. He's a guy who tells things as they are: don't come here to be refined. Golden rule: don't ask for arugula on your sliced ​​steak. Here the meat speaks for itself and doesn't need leaves to cover anything. If you're looking for a real grill, with character and substance, go ahead. You'll leave full, happy, and with that aroma of the grill that already tells the story of the evening. 5 stars.
