27/05/2025: Courteous and helpful staff. Quiet little place. Varied menu, with many first courses available, from meat to fish to pizzeria. I attach some photos of the dinner served in this restaurant. The pizza is cooked in a wood oven, and in winter there is the possibility of dining next to the lit fireplace, which makes this restaurant my absolute favourite. The pizza topped with onion, dried tomatoes and chips, tortelli with gratin cheeses baked, pappardelle with porcini mushrooms, seafood salad and frying. I forgot to photograph the pizza, thin and well seasoned. Stupendous.

12/10/2025: We wanted to try the pizza, especially the gluten-free version, which is hard to find with a homemade crust. We were completely satisfied with the gluten-free and traditional dough. The place is small, yet cozy, with only a few seats. There's no table service; everything is picked up at the counter. The menu lists a huge number of possible pizzas, perhaps around forty.

22/08/2025: A late stop on our return trip. As a family with two children, we received a very warm welcome, and the pizzas were delicious and the sandwiches generous. A great place.

09/10/2025: We had already been there four years ago, and we've returned twice on this holiday to Castro, and it's always a confirmation. Beautiful location.

08/09/2025: There was only one thing I didn't like: besides paying the cover charge, which is right, they charge for the bread separately.

31/10/2025: I've decided to give this pizzeria, located in the heart of Tricase on Via Roma, four stars because overall it was a good experience, with some very positive aspects and a few small details that could be improved. I'll start with the strong point: the location. It deserves five stars alone because it's truly excellent—it's right in the center of town, easy to reach, and perfect for an evening with friends or a stroll after dinner. The only downside is that parking is limited and not reserved, so you may have to wander around a bit to find a spot, especially on busy days. The location is modern and welcoming, tastefully furnished with attention to detail. However, the interior space is rather limited: the tables are very close together (in my case, I was about 80 cm from another table), which can take away some privacy and comfort. It's a shame, because the place has great potential and you can sense the care that went into it. As for the food, the pizzas were good, well-cooked, and made with quality ingredients. The only small inconvenience was a mistake in my order: I'd asked for a pizza with speck and scamorza, but it came with prosciutto and another cheese (which wasn't scamorza, though I don't remember exactly which). It wasn't a big deal—the pizza was still tasty—but with a little more attention, it would have been perfect. The service was kind and helpful, if a little unprepared at the time. They were just starting to use a new app to take orders, and the waitress had a few difficulties at first, but she worked hard, kept smiling, and apologized several times very politely. In the end, she managed to handle everything, and her commitment and goodwill were evident. One detail I appreciated was that, at the end of the meal, there were four desserts on the house. To be honest, they looked more like packaged donuts, but it was still a nice gesture on the part of the restaurant, and they definitely deserve thanks for their attentive service. In conclusion, it was a lovely evening, in a modern, well-kept restaurant with excellent pizza. There were a few small imperfections, but nothing that detracted from the experience. You could sense the desire to do well and improve.

12/08/2025: Good pizza when open. It's absurd to find it closed on Tuesday, August 12th, at 12:00 PM, with tons of tourists around. People just don't want to work.

14/06/2025: Encantador lugar y ambiente. La comida era tan agradable, Burrata para empezar seguido de costillas de cerdo y espaguetis de tomate muscular. Calidad de la comida excelente, el personal atento y muy amable. Quizás pedí demasiado, pero tener diferentes cosas para probar dio una mejor visión general de la comida. Muy recomendable.

14/06/2025: Location meravigliosa, immersa tra i vigneti, calma e tranquillità. Cibo squisito, piatti ricercati e studiati, sia nei sapori che nelle presentazioni, nonostante alla base ci siano ingredienti semplici e autoctoni della zona, se non di produzione propria. Non parliamo dei vini, Il fiore all’occhiello, tutti di propria produzione e davvero gustosi. Il personale top, gentile e professionale. Un esperienza davvero unica. ❤️

19/10/2025: A wonderful location surrounded by greenery, just a stone's throw from Gallipoli, a rustic establishment offering simple yet refined dishes. The quality of the food is excellent, from the appetizers to the first and second courses. The antipasto was rich and delicious, and the first courses were excellent. We opted for the meat course, which was delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were very satisfied.

13/09/2025: We were thrilled with the cuisine, service, and location at Calamate. We stayed in Gallipoli for 12 days, and we ate there four times. It was undoubtedly the best dinners of the entire trip. The appetizer selection—the burratina, the homemade orecchiette, and the bombette (which we tried breaded and baked here)—were all exceptional, as were the grilled red tuna and the pasta with scampi. The ingredients are excellent, and the price, in my opinion, perfectly in line with what's on offer. If you're in Gallipoli, it's worth a visit!

09/09/2025: We wanted to try some truly authentic food, away from the tourist hotspots. Our expectations were far exceeded. Friendly staff, good and patient advice, and delicious pizzas. And of course, there are always some complainers. In any case, we enjoyed our meal and will be back.

07/09/2025: The restaurant and pizzeria is located in a charming little square in front of the 1595 Duomo. The manager and staff are very helpful and kind. The traditional first courses are very tasty and delicious. The quality and price are appreciated.

31/05/2025: Place not suitable for vegetarians/vegans. Entered with enthusiasm, left with disappointment. I read "100% vegan line" and then I discover that the vegan burgers are cooked on the same plate as the meat. No, it's not a joke. I think it's right to point out that offering a vegan line also implies avoiding contamination, otherwise we can't talk about truly vegan dishes. It's a question of respect for those who have chosen a vegan lifestyle for ethical, environmental or health reasons.

15/11/2025: Small, cozy place, excellent food, friendly service, and jazz music. Recommended.

24/10/2025: Food was so good we came back twice! Staff here are super friendly which makes the overall dining experience even better. We had different pasta dishes each day. So happy I got to try the pasta with horse meat and I loved the pasta with tuna. I’ll be thinking about this place for a while and can’t wait to dine here again in the future!

16/07/2025: Cena ECCELLENTE . Agriturismo immerso nel verde della campagna sulla litoranea a sud di Otranto. Cibo genuino, del territorio e di qualità ottima. Sapori autentici in piatti presentati davvero bene. Porzioni abbondanti e rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo! Complimenti ai giovani ma già capacissimi ragazzi della cucina e ai gentilissimi titolari. Esperienza da ripetere! Consigliatissimo
